Hi All,

I love all of your replies....so true...I know a person can pray for themselves. Sometimes it's comforting to have others pray with you, not for you. Of course, that's optional....I just wanted to find out. Our prayers are our own way to communicate to God & to form your own relationship with them.

I think another article will come out to say....Jehovah says it's ok to Pray for others...but what others...this article will explain who the "Others" are.

What I'm really thinking is that they are getting letters from readers & they are asking...Is it true that JW's don't pray for others only other JW's ? So they had to cover their behinds & put something in print to say...No we never said that...OFFICIALLY...

This religion is becoming so transparent because of the Internet....

Hope many who are lurking or just checking out this site realize, that when you are in, the rules change. To the public we seem all warm & fuzzy, but once you get in....another story altogether.

I'm glad I'm not petty. I would love to go to the Elder & also another sister said I couldn't pray for others & say to them...So 'member when you told me that we can't pray for others ?...UMMM...

I'm glad I have my own mind, I even take my own mind into the meetings....I've said some comments that make them go..ummmm...at the end of the meetings, some will come to me & say, that was a nice comment, I never thought of it that way... In my mind, I say to myself...that's your problem, you don't think...

Went to the meeting last night...finished Job, thank goodness.. Here's what I need to know. I'm a witness, so I need to know...can we pray for someone that isn't a JW. Reason I ask, once a friend of mine was going for an operation. I asked an Elder could he pray with her before she goes into the hospital. We were not at the hall, don't want to give up too much info...JW police, everywhere...anyways, the Elder said, NO, because she isn't a JW or a study, & another sister told me we can't pray for folks (only JW"s). Well, if any of you went to the meeting last night. Praying for Other Pleases Jehovah. It was brought out that God TOLD Job to pray for his friends. So, I'm putting out there...are we or are we not to pray for others that are not exactly like us...The brother mentioned that some folks are too spiritually weak, lost all hope, etc to pray for themselves so we could pray for them...So funny, I looked at the Elder that wouldn't pray with my friend....that blank, rigid neck JW's get when they been doing something that was wrong. I see it all the time. When they disagree or the reasoning the Society gives doesn't line up with the Bible..they get stiff like a board. They don't look to the left or right, just straight ahead. I look at body language when the society is giving some hog wash explanation. The JW's body language says it all or they'll do a little cough...Funny to me.

Anyway, hope to hear from you folks, If not...Thanks for the venting session.

it was surreal to hear this read without as much as a raised eyebrow in the audience.. here it is: (mind you this is almighty god talking one-on-one with job).

Hi All,

They are describing Godzilla with a nose ring...anyone remember the Godzilla series...remember the scales on his or her back...(Hollywood didn't lift up Godzilla's skirt to see if male or female). Yes, maybe it could be a crocodile or alligator, in the beginning of the description, but breathing smoke & fire....Now that's a Dragon....but since JW's can't figure & can't explain, because they are too afraid of the realness of life...it goes over their heads...to say, hey maybe there were dragons & dungeons...

I'm a witness...but I don't live in a fantasy JW world. Many things are not explained....& don't care. Everything can't be explained...& that's ok...We humans have to have the answer to everything. But what is really important is ..WHILE WE ARE HERE ON EARTH....TREAT ONE ANOTHER WELL. LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER...Because knowing all this doesn't really matter, if you need food, clothing & a roof over our heads. If I've learned anything from the bible at all, IS BE GOOD TO OUR FELLOW MAN/WOMAN.

Some JW's & humans have missed that message, altogether....

Mid Week Meeting. The book of Job....what does this teach me about Jehovah

is it me or are you having a hard time commenting on what does this week's bible reading teach me about jehovah & what points from this week's bible study reading can i use in the field ministry ?

i'm having a hard time commenting because what does job show about jehovah....well, # 1 he allowed job's suffering, but he didn't let satan take his life.

# 2 what scripture could one use in the field ministry regarding the book of job...talking to a householder, see if you don't behave, god's gonna get you....or allow satan to get you.

HI All,

Well tonight is our meeting....& the end of the book of Job....thank goodness. I want to thank you all for replying & letting me know I'm not crazy or spiritually weak. Well, maybe a little crazy, because you have to be to survive in this world.

I haven't any comments for Job tonight...so I'll just listen. It's a little easier to comment because....NOW, God is talking...Wonder why he never told Job, it was him, or did it....

Jonah's story ends tonight...I like this story....may comment, or may just contemplate my navel...I have an inny...

Hi All,

I loved all of your replies. #####why would anyone want to be reminded of such a horrible story at thier door? there is nothing joyful about ruminating jobs plight in life. This is exactly what I was thinking....what could you show a householder the door that is so positive from JOB....Now if you happen to spend some time with them, maybe you can show them how God, gave everything back to Job....but how long would that take ? What this book will confirm is that GOD can cause & cannot Cause...or should I say ALLOW...

I think it's a good book to show that no matter how you obey God & do what is right.....you're faith will be tested. I think we all think if we do good nothing bad will happen, but that ain't the case.....Jesus was good & looked what he had to go through.

As I mentioned before, I'll be glad when we finish this book...I like Eccl.it's got wise sayings....

I'll come back when I need to vent some more..LOL...This past Sunday's WT...Shun your own family, be Loyal to God first..I think God is saying no such thing...Humans love to shun, 'member when we were little & if someone was different or didn't smell so good, what did we kids do....We would say....Don't talk to so & so, they blah blah blah..so that's humans...Humans love to ostracize, 'member when Aids started...don't touch this person, you can get it if you touch them & so on....

Well, I'll be back soon with some more observations...

Although at times we all go through trials & we do come out a better person.

My thoughts are what does Job teach us about HUMAN NATURE...that would be the better question & a better study. I think many are thinking the same thing....Behind Job's suffering is...Satan & God allowing Satan to attack Job. I do think this is a better book for us to take a look at human behavior when under pressure...Job did what everyone else does who feel they have obeyed God...or at least to the best of their ability. Job lost everything & was in pain...what would any of us do...Complain, just like Job. First he says he won't talk against God, then he says, God, what did I do, I've been good, didn't I do all the right things?

I noticed not too many comments at my hall regarding Job & what this teaches us....Some do have comments but they are the same as the week before...In the back of their minds, I'm wondering if they are saying, Jehovah is behind all of this...what can I say, I can't say....Jehovah caused it...or can I ?

Well, soon we'll be out of this book of Job..I'll be happy...

I do remember one of the verses in Job 37:5:He does great things that are beyond our understanding...& some other stuff we don't understand...But he is God...& he can do what he wants or not. I love God, but not the human portrayal of God..

This is from the revised NWT: John 8...the scriptures start @ v 12.

Hi,

I don't know the history of DF'ing, but what I do know is that it doesn't cleanse anything, it's a form of control. Witnesses use DF'ing for control & other religions use Hell as control. No matter how you slice it, man is always holding something over mankinds head to control & put fear in them.

How is it that JW's don't think the judging someone isn't taking God's job. God sees the whole picture. What right has man to judge another man ? NONE....

I noticed this scripture was removed from the NWT: where they brought a woman to Jesus & said she committed adultery & the crowd wanted her to get her come upp'ins....Jesus leaned down, drew a line in the sand/dirt & said, whoever has not sinned cross this line....Nobody stepped over also, they all left without a word...or as we say now..."Crickets". This scripture is in the old NWT. Why ? Because if you get called in, a person could use that as a defense....I know I would...I would make a copy for all of the brothers at my JC meeting...when they say, do you have anything to say...I'd give out a copy of that scripture to all of them with silence....& leave...or maybe break the silence & say....Oh by the way, this scripture was in our NWT before they revised it...No doubt they would go look it up...& Viola, there it is in black & white....even if I did get DF'd. I'd leave them with something to think about....for a long time...

The more the org. goes mainstream & people hear about DF'ing via internet, no matter how much the org. tries to say how loving DF'ing is....not too many folks are going to sign up for that...& the thing that slows down bible studies & interested person....AIN'T NOBODY STANDING IN LINE TO BE CELEBATE... Most folks still want to have sex, so they feel why join a religion that will shun you because of a natural feeling so they already know the deal...so why sign up, they know what will happen...what's the point.

not all JW's are asleep

i am an 'active' jw but i do not agree with most of the doctrines inc blood, baptism, the memorial etc etc.i took the emblems at the memorial because i think we all should recognise and accept jesus' command to remember him.

not for one minute do i think this is only for the so called anointed.

i know it is full of man made error and that my fellow brothers and sisters are in a state of mindless, spiritual unawareness.

I agree with you 100%...I'm active but I don't swallow all the stuff they say....When I go out in field service, I too rarely have the literature....I use the bible. Most of the time I say to the friends...I had the lit, but some of the friends needed them so I gave them up.

What I'm realizing most of them in their need praise. Whatever they didn't get at home, it seems the org. is supplying it for them. Many of them feel they don't have any worth & the only worth they have is in the org. I like you feel pity for them. Most of them need a pat on the back. If they put in one extra hour for field service, they must mention it. If they come home later, they'll call you & say, I just got home from service. I know the CO & his wife, I know this person is one of the anointed & so on. Most of them can't even stay home, their thoughts drive them into the streets (Field service, carts, hopeless return visits).

Most of the friends are nice but have issues. Well, I guess you can say that about most of the world. It's sad, just look around your hall(s) & see the sad faces...look at the young generation...their eyes are dull.

I go, listen, take what I need & spit out the rest...The bible is telling us to love one another....not just folks who look like you, vote like you, worship like you.

I, like you, believe in God & Jesus...Man has no idea what the bible is saying...it's man's interpretation to fit how they want you to think....The bible in the wrong hands can be dangerous.

I keep asking God, if I'm not supposed to be here...get me out but don't make it hurt (DA'd or DF'd).
