2. why have the gb never attempted in the past, and are not interested in attempting now, such a letter writing campaign in other communist countries where the work is under similar restrictions, like china, or vietnam?

Something tells me that the JW's stepped on someone's foot...They haven't just arrived there...what's the real problem?
&&& Yes, it's to take the focus off of the ARC, they can't spin that situation into persecution....too many cases...all of them can't be lying...a JW would accept one or two as persecution but there are too many to deny, that something ain't right...
Funny the Supreme Court is expected to decide if this group should be outright banned....so interesting...but when it comes to child abuse....no quick decisions....amazing what really matters...worry about the lit.they hand out, instead of the fact that JW's house pedophiles....ummm, maybe they know and the org., is using the persecution card, to pull out without the embarrassment...
As someone said, other places they are banned why Russia, ummm, something ain't right...I thought that too...and if the Russian JW's are the target, why send letters and make trouble for them....many of the friends go where the work is banned then come back and tell us all about it...I say to myself, what was the purpose of that...they are already being watched why would we go and draw attention to them and ourselves...then we Americans leave and come back here where we can do almost anything....but then when they show pix, there is a JW welcoming party there....uh ? Maybe my eyesight is bad....again, why put them on danger....oh, I forget, JW's love to look pious...

GB asks every JW to give Putin their home address
by MrHappy injw's around the globe have been encouraged to write letters to putin and the russian government.
they are expected to give their personal details on the envelope.
i appreciate that this might be normal when writing to your own government if they are tolerant, but is this not a bit strange that the gb want to give putin the address of every jw in the world?

Exactly, they want to be persecuted...and it's been a long time since they have....they couldn't spin the ARC situation as persecution...folks would eventually see through that....
Does anyone know if other religions are being banned as well ? Is this story just propaganda from the org and it's not a big deal in Russia?

Hi,
A real friend that is a JW doesn't care if you are a JW or not...or a friend that doesn't care if you are a JW or not...
A best friend is someone who knows all your secrets but a better friend is one that goes through it with you...
When you were a JW, you had no example of what a real friend is...As much as we all read the Good Samaritan, we never get the point....your so called spiritual friends may walk by you but you may get help from someone you would never expect...
JW friends are conditional friends...but if you decide to walk away, they drop you like a hot potato, real friends are there through thick and thin and don't judge...

Hi,
Adding your return address on the envelope is standing up for your faith...you are proud to be a witness... if JW's put return addresses it's telling Putin that they aren't afraid and willing to put their faith and life on the line...
I mentioned on another subject that if the org. is so concerned about these folks in Russia, take all the money and relocate them....or better still...those who are zealous could go where the need is greater....go to Russia and stand by the brothers and sisters and encourage them....
They won't do it....just lip service...I think this is smoke and mirrors because the ARC is coming to bite them in the behind....

That's what I meant....they are a burden on the Russian gov't....I also was making a joke about the big card....The org. wants us to write Russia and also supply who we are and our addresses...so this looks like we are putting our faith on the line....All this is smoke and mirrors....just to take away from the ARC incident...

Hi,
Got the best idea ever, you know when you go to the card store and they have those big cards that has enough room for many people to sign....The org. can have every congregation do that...I think that's better don't you...
Another idea, witnesses love to go where the need is greater....why not have an all out campaign for that....those who want to support our brothers and sisters, sign up....or maybe they could get them witnesses the heck out of there and find them a place to live...well if any of them will go...some like the idea of persecution... and how in the heck did JW's get started in Russia in the first place...Russia is a fighting country....they love un-rest...when they ain't fighting they really don't know what to do with themselves if they are not in conflict....They love, like us to be the world threat....
Don't think many are going to write....don't want to be traced back to them....they ain't ready to die, no matter what they say....
I have a Russian friend and they say, it's ok to have your religion but we don't like when you push it down our throats....let us choose...I think it's more about $$$, than anything else...
In the end it's never about a cause it's always about the money....maybe JW's don't support the gov't in Russia but take advantage of all the benefits...just like they do here in the USA....maybe they are a burden on their society...
JW's have the arrogance that everyone should be like them...I'm no witch, but little by little the org. is being exposed....everything is leaking out...the friends only mention what don't get them in trouble...this Russian thing is to side track the ARC....slight of hand if you will... The friends know about the ARC and other secrets, many of us talk outside of certain ears, and they know that the org. is begging for money, they notice that there are less and less baptism and they are now starting to see that the Brothers are just men...they are not the special men that the org. says they are....the smoke and mirrors are all gone...I'm a witness...so many will not talk about it but they know....just watch the body language...especially with this new book God's kingdom Rules...not too many comments...the friends are starting to ask themselves...but won't say, so who fed us before 1919? Just wait until the WT comes out that says they are not inspired nor infallible....won't be too many comments but the ones who try to make sense of this statement....and the rest of us will say, so how do you feed us? You don't even know if it's true yourselves...this will be very interesting...also to see what they say on FB.

Found a new difference between the old NWT and the new one...
by ILoveTTATT2 inyesterday i read jeremiah 8-11 because that's what was studied in the clam.
i am in a different city and decided to go to the meeting to check it out and possibly ask the witnesses some questions and see how they treat a "newcomer".anyways...nwt, 1984 version:.
(jeremiah 10:13) 13 at [his] voice there is a giving by him of a turmoil of waters in the heavens, and he causes vapors to ascend from the extremity of the earth.

They can say it absent, but you got to say it's a good story....because it really puts us humans in our places...because no matter how many times we read in the bible not to judge....we humans always put a coma..even though we don't like to be judged but we want to judge...that's why those passages may have been absent...either way, Jesus is saying...if I'm not judging, neither should you.

No shunning no control....
JW's are always being banned somewhere....that's their badge of honor...maybe if they just went around and preached instead of trying to convince and let people make up their own minds, maybe Russia would leave them alone....but to say they are the true religion....that's a little too presumptuous...oh, wasn't that this past weeks Sunday WT....
The WT society reminds me of that movie with Gloria Swanson, a faded star but didn't realize she was faded....so the org. is still waiting for their close up that they will never get again in life anymore....If the Russians tell of what the witnesses do, not political wise but just in-house....it may be hard for the public to see it as persecution....and it will be hard for the friends to deny that is how the org. operates...this could open a can of worms that we may not see as an opportunity to expose the org...but you never know...

Why couldn't they have just used the word lightning....oh, I know, they wanted to sound more intelligent than they are and show they did their research...
In the revised NWT, they took out a whole story of Jesus in John 8:3-11...the story is an adultery female was brought to Jesus, they wanted to test him....he was walking around preaching love but they wanted to see if he would uphold the law...so, they say the law says when an adulterer female is caught she is to be stoned....what would you do, well, Jesus didn't say a word, he drew in the sand and asked if any one hasn't sinned cross this line...well, one by one, they left...Jesus answered them but didn't what he did was prick the conscience of his audience and since no one in his life has never sinned....Jesus was saying...back up...who are you to judge...This particular passage many bibles say they are not sure if it's a part of the original text...oh yes it is....why they say that, that passage puts an end to all judging...that passage can shut down an excommunication or df;ing...As a matter of fact that passage puts an end to religion all together....I think all witnesses should make copies of this passage and if they ever get called into the back room...hand that around the room to the brothers....what this story is saying if Jesus don't judge who are you...then Jesus tells the woman to stop sinning...he doesn't have elders keep their eye on her...or others in the area tattle on her...he just tells her to stop...the rest is up to her...
So, all that to say this...they re-wrote the bible to fit words like...governing body, territory...words that pertain to them...
