I'm 90% PIMO but events in Russia made me stop and think maybe Jehovah is real and helping

i'm at the stage where i'd love a big scandal to come along showing clearly that the j.w's are not the true religion, but sometimes i get touched inside by various thoughts or events, the russian court trial being one of them.. i mean, j.w's are understandably fixated with attending the memorial, so why didn't the court say it will resume on monday or tuesday, instead setting wednesday 12 april as the date?

part of me believes the comments from pro-j.w's that jehovah moved events so they could attend the memorial.. it seems the j.w's will not be banned, which makes my mind and heart wrestle between thinking jah's behind it, or maybe the ministry of justice is just woefully prepared compared to the superb australian royal commission team who did their homework.

it surprises me the russians seemingly haven't done any homework..

Isambard, I think the same thing at times....why isn't the org. exposed for what really counts....THE ARC..but here's my take...this is for those who are emotionally attached to God not the org. I have read on this site those who learned TTATT, some were devastated...one female was so overcome she was down for days...so again, if Jehovah is behind this org...he won't bring it down just like that...it will be gradual just like the Catholics...

Many of the friends are so emotionally connected to the org. they would be no more good if the org. went down right away....

Maybe God is weaning the friends by letting them hear about the scandals yet nothing is done....maybe it's to put bugs in our ears...

Jehovah knows the witnesses are arrogant....these leaks are just like Chinese water torture....at least for those who are emotionally attached to the org...they know but can't believe and can't say anything...now that's torture, but those of us still in not drinking the kool-aide are ok with knowing but not saying..and planning for our escape...

Just think if the org. was exposed right away, do you really want approx. 8 million nuts let out on society, oh yes, they are, but because they take their meds.(JW kool-aide), just think if they didn't....a bunch of nuts let out...so I kind of think Jehovah is backing the org. not because it's his chosen org, is that The Society needs to be brought to their knees....and we may not like the way God is doing it...but pay attention...You also have to think of the org being brought down like this illustration....when a person hasn't eaten in a while, you can't give them a steak you have to feed them gradually, otherwise their stomachs would explode..same as the org...can't bring it down right away, many of the friends minds would explode or implode or short circuit...and I'm a witness, I'm on the inside, so I know the mental capacity of these folks...they are not stable...

I want the scandals to be exposed for the reason that if those who choose to stay it won't be because they are forced or that they believe it's a clean organization...and if you wish to stay ok, if not, no repercussions....it should be a religion where yes, you are held accountable for your actions but YOU are held accountable...nobody else...it should be a religion where you can come and go...& Stay out of folks personal life....

So do I think Jehovah is behind this...who knows....only time will tell...but we sure no more than the org. would like us to know..

I think Dubstep said it best....the religion attracts a certain type of person....oh well, I guess I have to re-evaluate myself...

The reason I am on this site is because I'm a witness and have noticed so many things that just ain't right...Witnesses don't know what love is...some do...I can say I do...I was raised in a nice home...nice childhood, happy, sure it may have had it's problems but what household doesn't.....so because of this upbringing has made me notice many witnesses were not raised like this....I talk to many and their home lives seem a little off...many were raised in the truth, but lets face it most come to the truth when they are on their last leg....no where else to go...so what kind of household is that to raise a child...

Many JW's have no love in them....it's like shaking a pocket book and thinking love will drop out...a purse can't love you and if you didn't put any love in the purse if you shake it how could love come out if you didn't put it in there...same as a person, if love isn't put into them how can they show it...most of them the best they can do is love Jehovah...that's all the love they can muster up....

We have some folks in the hall that when you greet them some you can hug and kiss and some shy away from it..some it's because of some illness...some may not be in the mood that day, some got issues with touching...me thinks something happened in their childhood that makes them that way....that's another topic.

Love has to be felt not taught....oh sure many need therapy to get in touch with their feelings. JW's don't know what love is...they never experienced it...if they did, they wouldn't act the way they do. Even if you were born into the religion, if you experienced real unconditional love, you would know you were in the wrong place and what they were saying about love isn't true, because if you had real love at home you would recognize the difference....so if you never experienced unconditional love at home, what do you have to compare with so when the society tells you what love is....what do you know ?

I'm a witness and believe in God...and the son of God...

But what I want to say is this it don't matter who wrote the bible or if Jesus was the Son of Man or is he God himself, at the end of the day, no matter what you believe....

Are you your brother's keeper, do you feed the hungry, will you help someone in need, would you give a thirsty man water, plainly speaking...WOULD YOU HELP ANYONE???????..

You don't have to be an atheist or a bible thumper to answer that question....

We all put too much attention on whether there is a God/Jesus or not...that's not the issue at all we are all fellow human beings....and we are our brothers keepers, if we don't help one another who will ?

Big write up about religion but the NYT couldn't expose the pedophiles in the org....so Religious bans out weights the lives of children....

Amazing.....

I do care about the friends in Russia and for their lives...if the Russians don't want them there...leave...maybe Jehovah don't want the witnesses in Russia, maybe he's trying to tell them something....I care about if they are hurt. But I care more about the lives of children. The org. hides pedophiles....that is a bigger head line then ever, but the NYT never picked it up but little ole ma and pa papers did....

Can someone tell me why the NYT decided to print this instead of the ARC ?

I finally get why people like to shun.

it finally hit me today.

why do religions enjoy shunning.

because many people feel like being close to god makes them special however just being special is not enough for many religious people that shun they must feel extra special how?

Hi All,

As someone mentioned shunning is a power tool...that's what the org. holds over our heads...Many of you know I'm in....in front of folks they shun their family members/friends, behind closed doors....NOT.

Again, there are some that take shunning to another level, the ones that talk about having family members that they haven't spoken to in years because they were DF'd... how faithful they were to Jehovah, nonsense....they are miserable....but won't admit it..but they just like the attention of saying that they remained loyal to Jehovah and didn't speak to their DF families....I wonder if they ever took the time to fantasize about Judgment day..if it's true, how will one answer about DF'ing....I know some who have grandchildren they haven't even seen ....when you look at these folks..they look sad...oh they put on that they are spiritual, going out in service, letter writing, pioneering...etc....but when I look in their eyes they are sad...because in the recesses of their minds, they know it's wrong...

Poor witnesses, they don't seem to get who God is....he never said to shun...but he did say be selective in who you hang with...that's in or out the truth...

So why do people like to shun...people love to ostrisize, (sorry for spelling), when we were kids, if you stepped in dog poo, the kids would tease you and say don't play with you, you got dooky on you.....you are the dooky boy or girl...it's human to ostrisize, not such a good trait to be proud of but that's what we humans do....when Aids first came out, folks were afraid to be around Aid victims, as if you could catch Aids from a touch or from breathing their air...same as so many other diseases....

Shunning makes one feel better about themselves...because no one has spilled the beans about them....this is a way for some to get rid of their guilt... just like the ones who tell on folks to get them DF'd, my question to them what do you get out of it...what's it to you what another person does, matter of fact, what have you done that no one has seen so that you are DF'd.

You don't have to know TTATT, to know it's not right to shun folks...that's something you should learn from home..

So take it from me, there are a few fanaticals that see nothing wrong with shunning...then there are those who it hasn't happened to as of yet or anyone close to them...those are the ones who think it's a good thing and it makes the person stronger....blah blah blah....until it happens to them....not wishing it on them, but then it will be a different story, they will not see shunning the same way....

Many of us are still in and some have left...but no amount of kool-aide can make a normal person believe shunning is right....so we can't blame the org. but only ourselves....even if we agreed on the outside, in our hearts we know it's wrong and knew it was wrong when you first heard it from the stage.

What amazes me, now the NYTimes is on this Russia thing, but when it comes to the lives of innocent children, not a peep...The ARC is all over certain newspapers (except NY papers), even in little remote towns in the USA folks never even heard of yet....NY Times never picked up the pedophile cases....

But now they pick up about grown folks giving out pieces of literature....goes to show....folks still don't feel pedophile is a crime...because it's still happening in and out of the org....shows the sick minds of humans...

Just my opinion...

hi, i want to leave my personal opinion on the matter of russian government's banning on the activity of jehovah's witnesses in their territory.

i think it's more or less important because bearing a certain opinion is related with the quality of life.

How come the Society didn't ask us to write letters to the ARC to stop the persecution of the org. via folks who say they were abused but the Society says they were not or that it's Satan, or the 2 witness rule was not upheld.....whatever, why no letters to Australia....if these cases didn't take place....why did they pay off...because if the friends really dug deep and many of them know of instances where there was knowledge of an Elder/Brother abusing a child and nothing was done about it....a couple of friends I know are angry with how the org. handled a matter concerning their child regarding child abuse but still stay in the org....many of the friends will put two and two together and figure hey maybe the org is hiding something....that's why they are laying low regarding the ARC...

Because it's not persecution, it's the Truth being finally exposed about the truth.....

I would but can't even talk to my own gov't in the USA...can't sign any petitions that may better anyone's life...can't be on the board of directors for where you live....can't call your local assemblyman, must I go on....they say, remain neutral...so I'm giving them what they asked for...I'm remaining neutral...because my conscience tells me so....

JW's or any other religion has the right to speak but not the right to shove their opinions down ones throat...I said this in another topic, JW's and Russians have many things in common....but one word they both share is...FREEDOM...

Maybe some of the brave x-witnesses could send letters to Russia regarding the ARC....just to shed some light on the matter, since the org. don't want to mention it....this might be the chance....

I think if a person wants to send a letter it's up to them....but we don't know the real story behind this....it may just to keep us busy since nothing has happened monumental in 100 yrs...

The org. just built a new facility...go get the JW's in Russia, protect them...if you really fear for them....take them out of harms way, if that's what they need...lip service...NO, this time the GB's should put their money where their mouth is...they won't do nothing but just have this story in one of our Year Books...but won't lift a finger....

But, JW's have been shunning people all their lives, it's now their turn....it's just they don't see it that way...

Exactly what I meant...they insert themselves throughout the bible...they think the bible is about their history...That's why they can call the end so accurately (because they might be the ones to usher it in),even though Jesus don't know....they know.

That's the problem with the bible folks interpreting it to suit their purpose....every religion thinks they are right. Many people don't believe in God for whatever their reasons...but what I've come to understand about humans we have a need to believe in something...even if we don't believe in God, some of us believe in Angels, Tooth Fairies, Santa Claus, Sandman, Easter Bunny....throwing coins in the fountain....horoscopes, yoga....something....man has several needs whether we want to admit it or not....

Everyone has a right to choose who they hold on to in times of need.

I'm a witness, I'm not sending no letter to Russia about nothing...the org. wants me to remain neutral...so neutral I will stand and stay....I can't even write or contact my local gov't agent or run for a spot on the board of where I live to make sure things are right, but yet they are ok with me writing to another gov't about ....who knows what...oh please, please Mr. Putin, "Let my people PREACH OR LET'EM GO"....

Can't sign any petitions that may benefit all people one day, yep even witnesses.....

Basically a person's letter should just state, we want to speak to people about God's word and then let them decide if they will accept it or not....Let the people choose....but Russia and The JW's have something in common..."No Freedom of speech here, if you do, we are watching you"...JW's would be the best religion for Russia, they both like to control....imagine if the Russian Gov't and The GB's got together....talk about taking over the world...they live by the same standards....now that's Pinky and the Brain at it's best....

But I really think it's about money....maybe the JW's are a burden on the Russian society, they have enough of their own.....
