Hi,

That is their answer to whatever ails you. Right now I'm dealing with a born in. They are having a difficult time in their marriage. All they want to do is go out in service then call me for encouragement. In reality they are running from their problems like many of us do. But witnesses make a habit of not dealing but know the scriptures back to front and what literature said about this or that. Witnesses do not apply what they read. They apply to others. That is why the want a Bible study so they can hide behind the student because if you have a student it makes appear you are doing the right thing. Not.

But what they don't get is how that sounds. I won't deny that sometimes the sound of your own voice drives you crazy and your heart is in a choke hold, but if God is the God of peace and comfort then why hit the street. Witnesses don't have the faith to survive. Even they have a song that says. Do you have faith to survive? Nope they don't. They only have head knowledge and run to the hall for meetings because that's all they feel they should do. It's always said never miss your meetings meanwhile the ones who attend the meetings wouldn't give you a drink of water. To them being a Christian is going to the meeting and hours.

Do WT Publications Make Us Feel Unworthy, Unlovable and Helpless?

it is my contention that the wtbts, (as do all high-control, authoritarian cults), deliberately cultivates dysfunctional beliefs among its members.

in particular, the most destructive of these beliefs are those that undermine one's feelings of self-worth.

for a research project i am doing, i am looking for direct quotes from wt publications that seem to be specifically designed to manipulate the readers into feeling: unworthy, unlovable, inadequate and/or helpless.

Hi,

Most felt that way before they became witnesses. That's who they prey on. So the literature is tailored made for those types of personalities. If you have a happy nature they will try to suck it out of you. One thing about life what can't be cured in our society will be colonized. Remember the lepers, they could not cure them so they colonized them. So that is to say, birds of a feather flock together. Yes, there are many nationalities in the org., but there is also many personalities but they are the same....not feeling worthy.

If you feel worthy, you won't last as a Jw. The literature is written for Debbie downers.

Jws forget to put on their oxygen mask first before they help others. Because all they care about is hours and pleasing man.

Yes. The literature does make one feel less than, but that's man saying it. What does God say?

Hi.

I a witness not married to one. But from all the sisters I talk to that are married and all the literature the society writes about marriage, they don't take heed to any of it. So happy they are not single and got their mate they lost focus on the marriage.

A couple of tips from my observations: Keep the org. out your bedroom, that is none of their business. Even a single witness they have no say in what goes on in anyone's bedroom. Watch soft intimate videos. That is to spice it up a bit. We all know marriage can become complacent. The everyday humdrum. Both of you pick out the video together and guess what? You both might find out you both got fantasies and realize you both are kind of jacked up so you both got to stay together. You don't want no one else to know how strange you are so now you got a common bond. Just a suggestion.

Another tip is Talk Talk Talk. And not about org. all the time. And don't judge one another like always saying Jehovah don't like this and I'll tell the elders and so on. That's all I got for now. As I mentioned I talk to many of the sisters and many like being married for the image but you can see they are trapped and unhappy. I don't talk to the brothers but I can imagine it's the same.

God of the Old Testament

to those on these forums who are christian and or to those who believe in the god of the old testament; how does one overcome many of the questionable actions god took or allowed to happen in the old testament?.

many if not most of us have heard of criticisms of the god of the old testament.

you can find these criticisms on many websites.. how do you explain to an honest hearted person why god acted the way they did?.

Hi,

God was a hard task master back in the OT. Plus his son was with him so he could create all the havoc he wanted here on earth.

But, then his son Jesus came to earth and suddenly we see God calm down. Reminds me of how cold and unsympathetic some are until they have a child... different person now, even more tolerant.

You don't read too much fire and brimstone much in the NT.

Another theory, maybe God is Jesus and while he came to earth he couldn't destroy and have a ministry and preach the good news.

I am making this all up. But it sounds good. Maybe the God that man wrote about is not really who God is. God can explain things but man cannot.

How can angels be sexually attracted to women?

Just a thought here. When God created man and woman, don't think they were sexual yet, they were busy doing who knows what. But eventually he/God said be fruitful and fill the earth. So I think that is when God put the sexual attraction into Adam and Eve. This he never told to the angels. Maybe we are made like them but we have permission to have sex.

Niw how these certain angels grew male sexual organs, as Flip Wilso said. The devil made me do it. If Satan can be a snake he can produce sexual organs too. And Satan told his angels to be fruitful and multiply too, because he too wants more of his soldiers on earth.

Hi All,

I think it's this free will thing God gave us. The angels had free will too. Don't you think the angels looked down at humans having sex and thought hey, I want to have sex too. God gave me free will, well heck, I am going to use it. Humans have all the fun.

Why do you think the 144,000 are not going to be defiled by sex because they are going to be eunuch's so they won't be tempted by the daughters of men. This also dispels the Jw version of who the 144,000 really are. The number is literal and so is the fact the will not have had sex.

I don't know whether this story is true or not or the Bible written by men inspired by God, but there are some good lessons in there on how we can get along on earth with all the differences we all have.

That story about the angels and humans just goes to show sex is as natural as breathing. It's common to all species of life and even spirits.

Maybe the better question is how can women be sexually attracted to angels. Didn't they see their wings. Wow they must have been very clever and most of all great eye candy.

48% Capacity at Kingdom Halls - A post on reddit

there was a letter read this week, followed by a talk about all the changes that are coming in the next couple of months regarding merging congregations in the area (va/md/dc) - the letter said that the kh's in the area are only being filled to 48% capacity.

this was music to my ears as i have noticed the decline in attendance in all the neighboring congregations.

they will sell some kingdom halls and merge some congregations.

Hi.

Its all smoke and mirrors. Take some from here put them over there, nope that's uneven. Take those from here and put them way over there. And on the last day of the month, God ah sorry the org looked at it and said It was good, then they rested. Why? Because they fooled the flock again ( so they think).

The org is now just a social setting. For the young that are stuck in for the moment they utilize it as a social media just like others that are not JW. Each age group has their little click. And for those who think they are too good to rub shoulders with non Jw's this suits their purpose. Religious snobs. And in every religion those are dying out. Why because folks can read. Most don't care nothing about the flip flop doctrines. That thought don't even come into play.

Many have never come from a home of unconditional love, so the hall just like churches are full of hurt folks. So when good folks come into these places of worship the hurt folks are drawn to them only to suck The niceness out of them to make the just like themselves. Then there are those who come from a great home and did what their parents told them to do as long as they lived at home but inside they are not what they appear to like us all but those type come to the hall. And they are who they have always been. Snob or lazy (full time ministry), need to be validated and so on.

The halls are not filling up because of the internet. You can conduct your own bible study on line. Then when you get to the part that talks about DF'ing. That's when they say why continue because eventually ill most likely do something and get put out, I'm out now, why get shamed and put out. Plus no commitment. But they told us to direct folks to the JW org. Well for that month anyway, because the next month was can you use only the Bible in the ministry.

&&& another real good reasons the halls are not filling up with Bible students and the young one. Because nobody is standing in line to be celibate. Now that's the real deal. Folks in and out of the truth are filling the earth and being fruitful.

mine was to some random guy in uniform i saw on the street about two years ago.

I am a new JW. So I always acknowledge people who serve from the restroom attendant to a person who was drafted or joined the armed services. In reality we earthlings should stop fighting and domineering one another and take care of each other.

i am going to run down the middle with this observation. I think males like to fight. It's the only way they can settle things. No don't talk it out amongst yourselves involve other people's lives that don't have a clue. Males even go to other countries that are not their own to fight aka foreign legion. Men are wired differently. They have an aggressive gene. Some females like to fight too. Wars are about money. Sure good comes out of it. The USA just wants to be world power. I saw a documentary on Coca Cola. They said their aim was to get Coca Cola into every nation in the world. They showed poor places where people for a treat would buy a bottle for the family with the little money they had. So. Now if Coca Cola could do this regarding a bottle of soda what kind of humans are we. We care more about soda than looking out for one another.

Hi All,

For those who believe in God/spiritual: We are supposed to work it out ourselves. Yes we are our brothers keeper. Would any of us be good if God didn't say so. I believe some need to be told and some people are just good natured whether they believe or not.

I too think hey God fix this or that. What type of characters would we developed if God fixed everything yet we look at the youth today and they can't even handle getting the wrong coffee, because we haven't raised them to deal with anything. Folks put baby on board so we all should drive safer. Don't you think we should drive safe period. If we never experienced life good or bad what type of characters would we be. A bunch spoiled children. There are words that would never be used like endurance, forgiveness, etc. These words wood mean nothing.

At the end of the day some need God or a God or sun or moon to tell them how to behave others just know whether it is God only they will know.

Does anyone on this site would see someone in need either on this site or wherever. Do you need God to tell you what to do. I think God is our conscience. Some call it conscience and some call it God. How do you roll?
