some people say this decade is the most advantage and so they are happiest in the present.
some long for the good old days before cell phones and computers.
if you could live in an era or decade , when would it be?.
I kinda miss late 90s internet. I liked people's quirky personal webpages before social media homogenized everything. I also liked the pre-text message world in some ways. If you were supposed to meet someone at 7pm, you did your best to be there at 7pm because you couldn't text in route saying "i'll be 20 mins late". Also, for MOST people, you didn't have work bothering you after you left the office. Unless you were VP level or something. Now Everyone is reachable all the time.
this period of crisis seems endless and absolutely weird but end it will.. in the mean-time people are working successfully from home, the skies have cleared, international meetings are held on line.
lots of frustrating commuter journeys are just not necessary.
the world is cleaning itself almost visibly in days, the skies are clearing.
I think there will be some significant events in about 9 months:
1. A lot of babies being born
Maybe. Although now is not a time I'd want my wife making frequent visits to the doctor's office for prenatal care.
it seems some people still maintain that trump will try to get help from the russians “again”..
Not certain what Obama has to do with it? If you think that Obama’s birthplace is a “fact” then… maybe you’d like to hear about how “you can live forever in paradise on earth.” The truth is that we’ll never “know” for certain (partially his pre-politics self’s fault for muddying the waters via name-changes, misrepresenting and “finding himself”).
What we can reasonably foresee is that Obama will be viewed as perhaps the least effective president since WWII (move over Jimmy) and probably in the lower third of all presidents. History will not judge Obama favorably (and will not be swayed by the identity politics everyone seems to glom onto with this ‘articulate’ man). His foreign policy will probably be the area in which he will probably be most severely criticized by the historians of 2120.
This thread is about a Russian threat, about which Obama sneered ‘The 1980s called, they want their foreign policy back.’ He was brilliant …from inserting himself into low-level domestic race tensions (and inflaming them) to “leading from behind” ….the man was brilliant …wherever he was born.
one of my favorite actors is robert de niro.
some of his later movies were so so but overall i think he was outstanding.
meryl streep, i just never thought she was anything exciting yet people say she’s the best actress of all time.
no less than the motion picture academy has rated Tom Cruise deserving of acting accolades.
So an industry pats itself on the back. Whats that got to do with anything? I've never heard anyone state Tom Cruise is a great actor. He's just a famous one. Because he's been good at selecting roles in movies that alot of people have seen. But that's like saying McDonalds is overrated.
she was very active in the 1970's then kind of faded away.
i remember her mostly as "weezy" on 'the jeffersons' but she also played the mother 'mrs.
evans' on 'good times'.
I loved her as Lt. Uhura in the original Star Trek.
i remember going door to door in the late 60's with my mother as a 5 or 6 year old.
one time she caught me looking at the wind chimes on a porch.
she told me they had pagan origins, were evil, and were somehow connected to demons.
"However, if one’s motive in putting up a wind chime has nothing to do with false religion, superstition or demonism, and there is little possibility of others’ getting the wrong impression regarding its use in the home, it is a simple matter for personal decision."
lol. "demonism". Sometimes it still boggles my mind that this goofy religion has any adherents at all.

I miss James gandolfini from the Sopranos! He was an excellent actor and everyone that worked with him said he was the nicest person, nothing like the mobster he played.
He was definitely good at playing Tony Soprano. But he was so good at it that it was difficult for me to see anything other than 'Tony Soprano' regardless of the role he was playing or even if he was just doing an interview. I wonder if he could have broken out of that had he lived?

Tom Cruise is overated
Overrated? He's just a famous movie star. I've never in my life heard anyone claim he was a great actor.
