Oh yes! Would you believe i was a jw rocker along with other 'brothers' in the cong' we rode our bsa's , triumphs , matchless and nortons to the hall parking in an enclosed side corridor with access to the street. Even a future elder rode a nice norton twin. Another older brother who from time to time we assisted in his workshop ( probably to keep us gainfully employed) owned a manx racing norton . I rode from my home wearing a sensible jacket only to change into my tatty leather jacket with studs and painted script on the back ' 100 rockers '. Only the elder is still a jw. By coincidence at a recent funeral of a jw family member an older sister reminded me of those 60s days saying " oh i remember you and ..... with your motorbikes and leather jackets". Actually i started my biking days with a couple of 50s LD lambrettas ,but when i rode a friends royal Enfield cafe racer i was hooked. There were quite a lot of 'mods'where i lived i knew most of them from school and where they hung about as i passed on my bike i would get a few choice words shouted at me but mostly we were pretty friendly. One instance at the cafe we frequented, which was close to the ice rink where a lot of mods went we had a bit of a scuffle when someone kicked our bikes and they collapsed like dominoes !! I was also a big rock n roll fan and to this day i still play in a retro rock n roll band....ahhh great days !!

Mods and Rockers

The constant drip of shunning policy from watchtower laced with the consequential action if a person fails to comply (which could result in being condemned at the big A if you defy the mother organization ) is an action which contributes to brainwashing. This concentration of fear does imo produce an enforcing climate to ensure compliance. Any belief system of indoctrination which results in brainwashing through fear for ones life could certainly violate the free will of those unfortunate enough to be so afflicted.

Excluding god as the cause at least imo is evidence of human beings using intelligence,whereas the intelligence needed to achieve the irrefutable answer could well be beyond the scope of the capacity of the human brain, which as all components of the human body has limitations. The scientific study of the physical aspects of the universe is understandable because we have the capacity to test and experiment according to our brains capacity of the physical of which we are a part being that we are made up of the sum of that which surrounds us, outwith that (which is the rub ) may well be conditions beyond our ken (comprehension )

by midnight inafter much research and prayer i am returning to being a jehovah's witness i can find nothing that eliminates them from being god's directed people , in the end they will reach the end of there journey despite mistakes and errors just like the israelites entered the promised land , thanks for your input and all the best on your personal journey ☺.

If you have truly studied this bunch of charlatans and think god is using them what kind of 'god' is it...imo you should seriously question your idea of god. by Half banana inthe original aim of ct russell in starting the watchtower magazine in 1879 was to announce to the world his pet idea that jesus had come to rule in the heavens five years earlier back in 1874. for the young entrepreneur this new magazine looked like a commercial runner and it was!.
most of us know how profoundly false the prophecy was but if you don't mind i'll give a brief overview for newbies:.
1874 was the failed adventist prediction year for the return of christ in the heavenly glory, which russell was now saying was the right year after all.

A building must stand on solid foundations to justify its purpose. The foundation for the watchtower, hence jws has long since crumbled even by their own admission. The subsequent years have given rise to false doctrine and predictions time and time again. To date they are constantly in a process of 'shoring up' their ever crumbling building. Those who cling on or newly associate are entitled to do so if they wish, but will always be aligning themselves to a structure which will never have a solid foundation. The precedents are there if they care to investigate. .....don't throw pearls before swine.

Any mistranslation, especially to bolster' in house' doctrine , which corrupts the original language should be avoided....however, any biblical canonizing which is accepted as genuine, especially as the origination of said writings is at best dubious should imo be avoided...hence i avoid all bibles. They are at best books which promote confusion,the evidence of which is abundantly apparent.

this is exactly what seems to be happening, a believer runs in drops the stink bomb and runs out again...only to pear around the door when he/she deems it safe to do so.

A jw does not follow their own understanding of the bible. That task is conceded by jws to the governing body self appointed faithful and discreet slave , who reason by means of a parable that they alone must provide the non negotiable spiritual food,although this method seems to happen without inspiration! ??. To deviate from this format a jw must expect consequences even up to the point of disfellowshiping and shunning..how loving is that?

Are witnesses even trying anymore?
by megaboy inhavent had an encounter with a witness in a while, almost 10 years, though at this point i could run circles around them in the scriptures, this encounter was very strange.
was eating with my son at a coffee shop, guy comes up using it as an opening.
i'm use to this because people find my son beautiful so i was open to him.

My last encounter with the cart brigade the ' brother ' said "we dont hold the magazines out in front anymore but wait till they (the public) approach the cart" ?? Definitely less effort required its too much to hold a magazine in front !!
