Just for fun, some thoughts about the paradise teaching:
- Will all the carnivores be transformed anatomically? If a lion is transformed into a herbivore would it still be a lion? Or will carnivores just not be there because of their sins?
- Will they have immune systems? If there is no illness will they need immune systems. And how much would the world need to change so that anything that can cause them harm will not be there?
- Will they have children? If they have eternal life will there be any need for children. Would they even have marriage? Would they procreate? No sex in paradise or is God just gonna make them infertile?
- Will there be no pain or limited pain? If there is no pain will that mean that slapping someone hard wont be a sin because they cant feel it?
- Will they remember friends and family that "did not make it" and other bad life experiences? If we cant remember these things will it actually be "Me" that was resurrected?
- An eternity in paradise means an eternity of constant fear of doing something wrong and loosing everything in the second death? Talk about a constant axe over the neck!
- Will those in paradise live like God intended and be naked? Imagine you are in paradise, its late afternoon, you and your family are watching the sunset and talking about how great it is to be in paradise. All of a sudden your neighbor Bob(naked) passes in front of you and drops his apple. He bends over to pick it up but it keeps rolling away and he just cant seem to get it (all this in plain view). Now you see the moon also!
The more I think about it the less I like it to be honest!

Let's talk about Blood again....
by stuckinarut2 ini know we have all talked about this topic before, but for some new ones on the forum, or to refresh ourselves, i wanted to start this thread.. the society likes to go on about the sacredness of blood, and how it should not be transfused etc.. they liken it to a symbol of life itself.
something that should be respected and therefore not transfused.. but, what is more important: real life, or a symbol of life?.
an illustration came to mind.. if we give a bunch of flowers to a loved one as a symbol of our love for them, are those flowers more important than the love itself?

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
Genesis 9:4 "Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
God is love.....Don't eat blood but show great love by giving your life(blood) to your friends..easy.

Question...
by ironsnake656 inwhen you were an active member in the jwland, did you expect to receive any kind of help from a brother/sister, but they did not help you?
when i was in the jwland, i expected and was my belief that any brother/sister will help you in time of need, distress or trouble, because we were part of a "lovely organization".
but countless of times when i needed and asked for help, nobody from the org helped me.

The time my ex-wife cheated on me and left, I was very depressed. In my worst moments I phoned the elders assigned to my case and they did not answer, I felt alone and forgotten by Jehovah.
And this is the problem: When you make your organisation God, when the org lets down members, they feel forgotten and let down by God.

My return to the WT...a terrible mistake
by JustHuman14 ini haven't posted for quite a bit, decided to share my thoughts on this one, so it is a reference topic for anyone who decides to return back to the org, knowing all about the tatt.
being way for quite long for almost 15 years and all wt's activities, i have missed quite a lot including the "new light" latest updates, i found it quite hard to follow up what was going on to the meetings.
new songs, wt broadcast, videos, internet (so wt now is in favor of the internet) cartoons, and everything seemed completely new and weird to me.. reason for going back it was the severe pressure from close family members to return back to the "truth".

For me my return was a surreal experience. The words from the podium lost their impact; goosebumps were replaced with nausea. I could see through the fake smiles and how are you's. For the first time I had my own opinion, and it made the meetings and watchtower study extremely frustrating. Even the simplest statement sent my mind racing. But the main thing was the emptiness of the whole exercise. It was like getting back into your old car that was rusted away. You put on layer and layer of new paint to try and keep it together, but the slightest bump and it falls apart.
My love and support goes out to you and all those in these situations! Be strong, you are not alone in this. There are people who care!

Watch out where you tread
by LevelThePlayingField ini remember like it was yesterday.
my dad pounding his fist on the kitchen table and gritting his teeth as he tells me to get out!
he kicked me out of his house.

My Dad was one of Jehovah's Witnesses most of his life and in hindsight it must have torn him apart. He was a reasonable, logical person and I think he could not keep it up in the end. He crashed and burned badly and his life fell apart. He ended up moving to another country and lived with another woman there, and would not talk to us at all, maybe because of shame etc.
My point is that even after falling so hard from JW the influence of this religion is so extreme that it can be summed up in his last words to me before his death: "Son, never forget Jehovah!"
I hope he rests in peace...

The New System... really... An expanding universe
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inwell jesus has handed the kingdom back to jehovah and satan and his demons are dead forever... peace on earth.. great... a million years go by...the human brain would not hold even 1000 years of memories accurately... indeed the former things would not be called to mind but... 2 billion years... oh i's damn hot the sun is running out of hydrogen.... 5 billion years jehovah sit back laughing... we are all dead... unless we move away from earth... not only is the sun a red giant but andromeda has collided with the milky way and rendered our galaxy no longer a spiral galaxy.. navigation is impossible out there.. 2 trillion years.
oh ... if we existed.. we would have no idea theven is a universe.. the expansion is so far that we can't see beyond our own galaxy ... the heaven declare jehovah diminising glory.. 100 trillion years... the galaxy is gone... stars are burning out... in fact atoms are destabilizing... jehovah will need to remake us... likely in to positronium.... dark energy is so powerful we can feel it... assuming we have bodies anymore.... 100 to the 100 power years.... black holes evaporate away,...we have an almost 0 energy universe .. well except for dark energy which is now so powerful matter cannot exists.. 100 to the 200 power years... well there is no mater or energy except for the energy of the vacuum (quantum fluctuations) dark energy had literally torn this universe apart and assuming m theory... that it... jehovah and jesus laugh hysterically..

By the time of the first major issues our consciousnesses would have been uploaded to watchtower branded computers and our physical bodies left behind. After that there will be a singularity between technology and spirit, all consciousness, knowledge will transfigure into spirit, combine and we will be beyond physical beings, in union with God forever.

Apostasy: The Movie - Directed by Daniel Kokotajlo
by darkspilver indaniel kokotajlo's new film apostasy has it's world premiere at the toronto international film festival in september 2017. apostasy.
family and faith come into conflict for two jehovah’s witness sisters in manchester, when one is condemned for fornication and the other pressured to shun her sibling.. this fresh, unadorned first feature from director dan kokotajlo carries an unmistakable note of authenticity from its very first scenes.
set in a jehovah's witness community in england, the film's strength and power lies in its directness.. apostasy depicts the growing rift in a family — a mother and two daughters — who are rigorously devoted to their religion.

Big events/developments which Bible failed to foresee!
by venus inthough bible made prophecies about “wars and rumors of war, famines and earthquakes, and persecution, hatred …” as signs of “last days” (mathew 24:6-11) which are neither specific nor extra-ordinary given the history of such events, it failed to foresee the positive development such as communication revolution (e.g.
tv, internet, mobile phone …) which is also favorable to preaching activity—the whole world can be preached to within a matter of hours.
[bible writers thought it would take at least 21 centuries for the whole world to be preached to.—mathew 24:14].

During my "everything is symbolic-conspiracy" phase I believed that the frogs in Revelation 16 represented our internet connected devices(communication revolution) that are everywhere and expose us to satanic influence, see also Exodus 8.
Hey maybe that is why some presidents use twitter.

I was brought up so strictly that at 21 I still thought that I would go blind if I saw a naked woman. For me at 16 a blank message from a girl would probably have counted as sexting.
