Hierarchy of Organization
by lostsheep82 inhi, i'm looking for the article published in the 90s i think (i was a teenager) and it showed a diagram of the organizational hierarchy, at the top was jesus, then governing body all the way down to publishers it was in a pyramid style org chart.... can someone point me in the right direction?
additionally, does anyone remember the article or any articles that stated how bad it was that other religions had hierarchy like that?
i remember this being discussed at like a watchtower study or maybe it was a bookstudy.... i am on the hunt for another topic to discuss with my jw parents.

How Would You React if a Snake Started Talking to You?
by RubaDub injust an odd thought i guess.
i saw a large snake in the back of my house the other day and it went on its merry way.
i just asked myself, what if the snake turned around and wanted to have a philosophical discussion on life, the universe or the origin of creation and then began to ask me questions?

For those who are STILL believing Christians...
by BoogerMan inthe latest watchtower of august 2020 discusses on page 15, "how will the resurrection likely take place?".
since learning real truths as opposed to the org's version of truth, has your view of the resurrection changed significantly?
just one example - regardless of psalm 37:9,11,29: matthew 5:5 & revelation 21:3,4, do you now believe that our destination is heaven rather than earth?.

I believe in two salvations, one heavenly for the church and the other earthly for the rest of mankind, however I don't limit heaven to 144,000, believing the Great Company is also a heavenly class. One serves on the throne and Kings and priest with Jesus, the others serves before the throne as underpriest.
Every man, woman and child who ever lived will be resurrected on earth, in which during the millennial reign of Jesus will learn what God did for us through his son Jesus, they'll grow to perfection and have the opportunity to prove their loyalty during the "little season" when Satan is let loose to deceive. At that point, mankind will be perfect and stand on their own merit. Sinning cannot be blamed on adamic death as Jesus paid that price, they will die for their own sins.

I did several times at different congregations, then I finally accepted hoping to make a difference. I have to admit I was probably the favorite in the congregation, wasn't quick to judge, and the friends found me easy to talk to, especially among the younger ones.
My presiding overseer hated me because I wasn't a "Yes" man who kissed his butt at every opportunity. But at the same time he respected me because he knew I never held back. I spoke my mind without any reservation.
We use to go at it tooth and nail at elder's meetings. One time he actually charged at me, took 3 elders to hold him back.
In the end, I had enough, and I handed in my resignation, I had confided to quite a few friends, telling them I couldn't do it any more and they begged me to stay, but they understood. They announced it during the service meeting as if I had been removed, and not stepped down, but everyone there knew I stepped down.
I kicked the bookstudy and field service group out of my home, and told the elders the only thing I would participate in was field service, which I enjoyed.
The following Sunday just before the Watchtower study was to begin, an elder tapped me on the shoulder and motioned me to the back, when I got there He extended the microphone to me and I immediately put up my hands and told him "I don't do that anymore", he had a smirk on his face, I went back to my seat. I lasted a few months. Then walked out and never went back, that was some 25 years ago.

The ransom makes no sense
by BourneIdentity inif mankind needed to be redeemed from sin and death, why didn't the redemption happen as soon as jesus successfully lived his entire life without sin and sacrificed his life?
if he was successful, the price was paid and we'd all be living forever.
it's all bullshit, or jesus fucked up and sinned, so it nullified his sacrifice.

It makes perfect sense, not the JW way, but the Biblical way. I guess one would question why it took some 5,000 years between Adam falls to Jesus birth for God to do anything? Is God responsible for all the suffering in the world? Did he create evil? No, man created evil. There's a purpose for it all, just because you don't understand it doesn't make it any less true. God has a plan, and He's in control, and guess what? Thing will get even worse before it gets better. But unlike the JW's who believe that salvation comes ONLY via their theological lenses, every man, woman and child who ever lived will live again, because that's what the ransom is all about. Jesus died "a ransom for all".

What to do with old publications
by TonyMorronTheTurd inhi guys,.
it's been a while since i posted here, but i feel like posting again.. it's hard sometimes to find the energy to post here after i expend all my time working a full time job and pretending i care about the wt$ at the same time.. i've been trying to slowly wake my girlfriend up ever since i first posted here, and i must say it is a long waiting game that i am playing right now.
almost all my efforts are dismissed and i've been slowly losing hope.. anyways, what i meant to really post here today is about old publications.. honestly anything that has to do with the watchtower and jdubs, as of recently makes me feel like vomiting.

I've been selling my library off on ebay one book at a time I still have 22 bookshelves 10 feet tall filled with books and about a hundred boxes in the garage, stuff going back to the early 1800s with the early adventist. This is my retirement fund LOL

Waco Mini-Series on Netflix. Powerful and Scary.
by Simon inso we binge-watched the waco mini-series on netflix.. wow, what a powerful and enlightening programme!
even if you think you know what happened, it gives you extra context to it all.
it's very well done even if you just want a great drama series, but it's way more than that.. there are of course some dramatization and slight historical inaccuracies for the purpose of story-telling but it was very informative.

I binged watched the series over a period of 3 days. I enjoyed it and remembered it well when it was actually happening. I did some research, they actually razed the building and built aa church on it. The Branch Davidians still exist.

Anyone know of someone doing this or maybe you have done it
by phoenixrising inanyone ever hear of someone getting dfed in a congregation then moving cross country and joining another jw congregation and not telling them you were dfed.
?.

Many years ago when I first started out, there was a case. A brother was DF'd and he moved across country, started studying again, pretending to be a new interest. He got baptized, and eventually rose up the ranks of elder. But his past caught up to him while serving at a convention he ran into an old acquaintance, and he was again DF'd.

What Did You Choose Jehovah Over?
by minimus insome jws believe they have the truth.
they alone understand god, jehovah.
they are very happy being jehovah’s witnesses.👍👌..... many others realize what they have given up for jehovah, to belong to the jehovah’s witness religion.

I gave up a future, and at the time I joined, I was in a relationship with a woman who loved me more than life itself, and I had to give her up because she was of the devil and Jehovah would provide me with a mate.
