  sometime within the last 2 weeks, someone took a sledgehammer to the pyramid monument in allegheny.

  they stole the topstone, smashed the cross and crown emblem and removed the seal.. personally i'm surprised it lasted this long untouched.

  although through the years russell's grave has been vandalized, it was always repaired by the bible students..

  From Paradise Lost To Paradise Regained: Is the WTS the sole promoter of this doctrine?

  howdy folks,.

  i am interested in learning whether or not the watchtower society is the only religious entity that teaches the "from paradise lost to paradise regained" idea.. the "idea" is that god's original purpose for man and the earth has not changed.

  god purposed for adam and eve and their offspring to reproduce and fill the earth and live forever upon it; but the problem of sin entered into the picture and temporarily interrupted that purpose from being completed.

  Plenty of groups believe in Paradise Earth, Bible Students, Jehovah's Witnesses and all their offshoots. As mentioned Christadelphians, various Adventist denominations.

  It should be noted that even among mainstream Christians, many teach that the church will go to heaven and be with the Lord for a 1,000 years. While the earth is scorched and purified, then everyone will return to earth and libe happily ever after!

  I agree Hermit ... although this monument is an embarrassing chapter in their history, I'm surprised the GB did not attempt to take it down and make it disappear like so many other embarrassments.

  Still I don't approve of this. It's uncalled for.

  Newly discovered Dead Sea Scrolls with the tetragrammaton within the Greek text

  big news from israel, some previously undiscovered dead sea scrolls have been found with portions of the ot in greek.

  it says the name of god is included in hebrew letters within the greek text.. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/16/world/middleeast/dead-sea-scrolls.html.

  "the new fragments contain verses from zechariah 8:16-17, including part of the name of god written in ancient hebrew, and verses from nahum 1:5-6, both from the biblical book of the twelve minor prophets.".

  When You Were A Witness Did You Believe Everything Taught?

  I studied in 82, Got baptized in 83. I figured it all out by 1985. Of course my view was that these were imperfect men sincerely trying to do God's will. Since I love to read I collected every piece of Watchtower literature I could find, old books, oldtimers, etc. This was before the internet and I learned the truth about the truth. I stayed because it kept me out of trouble AND because I enjoyed it. I was a favorite among the body because I understood and wasn't quick to condemn and suggest DFing someone. But in the end I decided I wanted to out but stayed because my wife at the time was raised a JW and all her family and friends were in. I had eventually enlightened her and we slowly faded after I stepped down. Never looked back and they never looked for us. It's as if they said "good riddance". Although the last year we were in, they tried hard to investigate me, questioning me. The P.O. even came after me physically, took three elders to hold him back and I laughed.

  As I said, it kept me out of trouble.

  Letter from local Kingdom Hall

  today l received a hand written letter from my local kingdom hall .

  l say my local as the one nearest me , for those who don't know me l am not nor have ever been a jw .

  as this letter was addressed " to the householder " l assume that everyone in the area ( tamworth , staffordshire ) has been sent one .
