I wasn't sure if that was being too creeper, but I'll figure something out and message you.

@blondie
I heard they crush toes over time. I saw a picture of Michelle Obama's feet, and they were trashed from wearing high heels for decades.
Maybe I'm old-school, but I'm not used to God fearing women wearing fishnet stockings and stilettos with skin tight micro-minnie skirts. I expected better from JW's with their strict rules, but nope, it's the same old bullshit I saw at other churches. At my age I might be out of the loop, and dressing that way might be normal...
@Uzzah
You'd be surprised at how they dress in Memphis. I haven't been anywhere else, that's why I was wondering if it was organizational. You went to the Bethel place in NY? I have a ton of questions about that. Do the higher ups in JW get paid? I've been wondering about that

can jehovahs witnesses ingest marijuana in states where it's legal?
can they use it medically and recreationally in legal states?
.
? I'm confused. I was talking about Jehovahs Witnesses, not Clipse and Pharrel lol.
interesting read in the new york times book review.
food for thought on a subject 3rd gen and i have discussed between ourselves and with our daughter.
in our case, the answer is yes.
This is an amazing thread!
I've learned a lot from these comments, and I've decided with a 100% certainty that this religion isn't for me. It's downright scary to hear all the things people have went through in order to abide by rules that are impossible to live by. We're all in "the world" and trying to be separate is a task that no human being can do if you want to have some sort of mental and financial security. I feel sorry for people that are trying to navigate through life while walking on imaginary thin ice. It's not possible, even if you decided to live in a compound in the mountains. You have to have dealing with the real world in order to survive, and asking people to do otherwise is cruel and unusual punishment.

@Vidiot
I know that a lot of them are drunks. I have family members that are really into it and I've seen them drunk on several occasions. I don't mean buzzed, I mean blasted! That seems like a waste of time to be spending all that time at the KH only to end up on skid row. What a mess!

I think LSD would make for an awesome psych med, but it opens people's eyes up to the world around them, and the government doesn't want that.

Betel nut? Sounds yucky. Lol. I wonder why methadone is questionable? It's better than someone shooting up in a KH bathroom. Methadone, and drugs like Suboxone, are used to keep opioid addicts in remission, so not allowing that is unfair. I work with a girl that's on methadone, and from what she's told me, if you take it as prescribed for opioid addiction it doesn't get you high. She's an addict though, so you don't know when they're lying (her words not mine). I think I would go bat-sh** crazy trying to figure out what is ok, what is wrong, and what is grey. Thanks @blondie for bringing some clarity to the conversation. You rock!

@EmptyInside - I talked to a JW that lives in a state where is legal, even without a prescription, and he said witnesses ingest, but they don't advertise. They did like you said, and found other ROA besides smoking, some that work for a variety of conditions. I think it'll be a difficult situation, because alcohol is way worse, but alcohol doesn't have that "dope" stigma.
