the bible studies, after all are to get people to understand they can't gain life without the "faithful slave" ( you have to be baptized as jw to survive) .how does it make you feel?

Do you expect the forum to sit down and bible study the verse citations while we read your post?

A POMI? No, I was disfellowshipped some years ago. With all questions they fired at me, it was disbelief in 1914 that pulled the trigger. But leaving never meant I wanted to stop believing in the scriptures. With study, I deepened my belief. Wt. doesn’t have the corner on the word of God; really, it never has; but it certainly has slandered it with doctrine of men. So, since this is a forum where JWs may come and go, I use God’s word to refute the organization’s lies. Whether one wants to read a scripture I may post, is up them. I have no expectations.

I wonder how many JWs actually believe in following the example of Jesus Christ. This "system" of belief is corrupt. Jesus didn't mince words when letting his people know their lies. He warned them of the harm that was coming upon them; and he would never have attempted to "rise to offices of highest authority", to fix the problem. John 18:36 Watchtower's sins are much bigger than any one man can "fix". (Rev 18:4-8)

Truth is light, lies are darkness. In that sense, it is an "in or out" issue, if one follows Christ. Matt 5:11; Mark 8:35-38; John 16:2,3; Heb 13:13; Rev 13:15

Religiously "divided" households can certainly coexist happily peaceful, and it is a beautiful magnanimous thing when it can be achieved. Good on them.

How can that be, if one spouse believes that religious unity is thriving under the family arrangement when a PIMO spouse keeps hidden his true beliefs and valuable information that could save his or her partner from future harm?

If one wakes up to the deceit practiced by the leadership, is it not another form of deceit to hide what a person has come to know about the organization, by keeping that truth hidden from their loved ones? Can one ever trust himself after acting against what truth requires? (Eph 5:11) I wonder how far I would have gotten in waking up, if my husband and oldest son didn't stop going to the meetings, and clearly told me why.

No one in the organization is benefitting from the leadership's continual wicked attempt to hide the truth...about themselves, about JWs, about the anointed, about Jesus Christ and the Father...that scriptures reveal. I know there are PIMOs getting info out of the organization and into our hands. But you know, it will all come out soon enough. Luke 8:17

No one benefits, if one attempts to hide the truth they have come to know. I believe hiding behind a façade is a “putting off” of the inevitable.

I totally agree, but the natural, compassionate instinct of fellow man enacted in a life-threatening situation that we may come upon, is to help people find safety - to get away from harm's way as soon as possible. The account of the Good Samaritan comes to mind.

It’s a twisted ball of yarn for sure. God’s Word as stated in scripture is “inspired”. 2 Tim 3:16-17 The words of Christ are of “Spirit”, his teachings are inspired. The “word” from “Jehovah’s organization” is also “inspired”. Since God or Jesus apparently direct the organization through words, then whatever doctrines are distributed, are or become, inspired. I don’t know what year this teaching began, but we know the organization was labeled by its false teachers as the “spirit-directed organization”; thus, it is inspired. So, the GB can easily say they are not inspired, but then direct attention to the source of the organization’s inspiration, as their scapegoat for their failed teachings. Either it’s not God’s time to show them “new light”, or “Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.” (w 17/02)

And yet Jesus said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 He is Truth. His words would never falter, never be wrong. (John 14:6)

It's horrible that these men convince JWs that any new words/doctrine from the mouths of uninspired men, are “truth”. They’ve created their own modified “word of God”, to fit their organization - their idol.

I can totally see the spiritual “beasts” of Revelation applying to the Watchtower and its false prophets. One “directs” the other. (Rev 13:11,12) Anyone who rejects either one or both, is “killed”, disfellowshipped. The UN, whom they say is the “Beast” of Rev 13:1 doesn’t hunt down and kill people who reject it – especially the “saints”/chosen ones. That entity doesn't even know who they are. (Rev 13:5-7;11:1-3,7)

Rev 13:15 - The second beast was ·given power [or allowed] to give ·life [breath; a spirit] to the idol of the first one so that the idol could speak. And the second beast was ·given power [allowed] to ·command [cause; make] all who will not worship the ·image [idol] of the beast to be killed. (EXB)

Many people put their faith, hope and confidence in God, without attaching Him to an organization - - "Jehovah's organization". That is something that JWs cannot, and will not do. It begs the question, which is more important in the life of a JW, God, or the organization.

False. JW have erred in interpreting the year of the great tribulation but not in interpreting prophecy or scriptures relating to the time of the end and the overall meaning of the Bible and the meaning of each scripture in the Bible such as hell, mortality of the soul, Jesus is not God, etc. —Too many to mention. The Bible educational work of JW is the greatest in human history. As Jesus predicted that his followers would do work greater than his proving JW have the backing of Jesus.

Surely you are joking? Why would Jesus back a lie, or a predicted date for Armageddon that failed...more than once? Why would Jesus support disfellowshipping, a wickedness which fosters love among the greater number to grow cold? (Matt 24:12) Why would he support an earthly organization riddled with child abuse, lawyers and court cases?

Yes, surely you must joking. Please forgive me if I fell for the joke.

i get all the good things about being in the cong, good social life lots of invites to bbqs and meals out.

Definition of integrity –

The quality or state of being complete; unbroken condition; wholeness; entirety.

The quality or state of being of sound moral principle; uprightness, honesty, and sincerity.

The quality of integrity is a goal that should come to permeate one’s whole being as an example for others to recognize and emulate. Jesus provided that example for us to follow. I’m not saying it’s easy, but a person who refuses to make the effort to raise himself to the level of whole sincerity and honesty, to be an example of those things in front of others and putting others before themselves, are in effect practicing the same sort of trickery as the early Pharisees, and the governing body today. The simple label of “conman” comes to mind.

I’ve heard others say that the organization is closer to “truth” than any other religious organization. No, not according to words of Christ.

Then he called his disciples and the people around him, and said to them, “If anyone wants to follow in my footsteps, he must give up all right to himself, take up his cross and follow me. The man who tries to save his life will lose it; it is the man who loses his life for my sake and the Gospel’s who will save it. What good can it do a man to gain the whole world at the price of his own soul? What can a man offer to buy back his soul once he has lost it? It only strengthens one's resolve to reject the doctrine of men. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

I had to look at the article.

"We know from his Word and from the experiences of faithful servants that obedience saves lives. (Exod 14:1-4; 2 Chron 20:17) Meditate on such examples. Doing so will strengthen your resolve to cooperate with organizational arrangements now and in the future. "

Both of those scriptures involve God and His prophet, Moses. I hate it when they constantly compare themselves to Israel under Moses; when they admit they are not "inspired", and are not prophets. Or when convenient, they compare themselves to the apostles - usually when new "decrees" are introduced. Somehow, according to A. Morris, these decrees come down from God to the organization, and into the mouths of uninspired men...who are not prophets.

Right. None of it "makes sense"!

what do people usually think of when they buy a house?

"i will probably live here for a long time" (you're invested with your time), "i will save money by building equity over time".

(you've invested in yourself financially for the long run) of course, i wouldn't be able to list the numerous reasons why people want to buy a house.

@Hosier - I totally agree.

I understand that there is at least one GB member who has personal investment properties. These leaders are humans, we are all humans. We make our own choices, but for any humans of an organization which invests in land to build compounds that provide its leaders comfortable housing, and which has confiscated every kingdom hall deed around the world…for such leaders of an organization to tell ANYONE what a person should do about buying a home, is hypocrisy. If I didn’t have this home I live in and the space it sits on, I would not have a place of respite for young ones who have been rejected by their JW parents; who also by the way, own their homes.

I have camped in a van for long periods of time, lived in apartments, taken a hovel of a house and remodeled it along with my ministerial servant husband at the time, to provide adequate housing for our little children, and doing the same changes over the years according to job opportunities. And all the while, making sure we “put the kingdom first”, which translated into slaving for a "beast" of an organization, run by modern-day Pharisees. (Rev 13:1,2,11,12)

growing up around the faith, whenever i heard something taught, i'd always think there is a different way of looking at that, probably better.. we always hear "this good news of the kingdom will be preached... " matt 24:14.. so i think, is there more to it than preaching the kingdom?.

luke 17:21 the kjv and asv says "neither shall they say, lo here!

It seems pretty important to analyze the type of “worship” we practice, or practiced, as JWs.

"For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!" 2 Cor 11:4

"Anyone who goes too far and does not remain in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who remains in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds." 2 John 1:9-11
