Contradictions!
by Freedom rocks inquite regularly at meetings jws mocked worldly people and apostates(anyone who had left the "truth") for saying the bible contradicts itself when it is in complete harmony from beginning to end apparently.
can anyone point out some of the contradictions they know of?
they used to laugh at the fact people on the doors would say the bible contradicts itself and when they asked the householder to show them where, they couldn't..

How about "Thou shalt not kill" as opposed to specific commands to kill innocent civilians during war and to stone adulterers to death?

What is the strangest picture drawn or other you ever saw in a JW article?

I don't understand the question. Are you referring to a literal picture (i.e. magazine illustrations) or an image conjured up in the mind by an article?

Apostate - what does the word mean to you?
by Tallon inover a period of time i got to thinking - what does the word 'apostate' mean to me.
having given it some thought, this is my view;.
the org has given the word its own definition and basically use it to demonise people and consider them pariahs.. however, the jw meaning of 'apostate' is a mere word and only has power if recognised as such.

The word itself has such an evil aura to me. I can't explain it, but I literally feel the evil emanating from it. Now I don't mean that I believe anyone labeled an apostate is evil. Not at all! I mean the connotations assigned to the word by JWs and the way they use it to describe just about anyone who doesn't agree with them 1,000%. It feels as evil as the Nazis labeling the Jews as sub-human scum. I normally don't "feel" things like this, and I know it sounds insane, but that's the impression I get, and it really disturbs me.

Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom
by minimus intrump’s state department is having all sorts of religions and groups from around the world meet for discussions on how to insure that they have freedoms.. i wonder if jehovah’s witnesses will be there..

It would seem like it would go against their beliefs to get involved in politics, even if it's for their own interests. Besides, I thought JWs loved bragging about being persecuted for their faith. Surely gaining more religious freedom would deny them their self-imposed martyrdom.

Do baptisms only take place at conventions, in full view of thousands of people? Or is anyone ever allowed to have a simple one-person baptism with just their family and/or congregation in attendance? I've only ever heard of the former.
