i am totally lost.

can someone explain what is happening with this issue, please?i read online that gb is trying to coverup or defend themselves and their organization... like what happened?

isn't this horrible thing happening in all of the religions over the world...for example catholic church has got multiple scandals...but i just don't get it.

Thank you! Oh damn, so I guess it makes sense why GB was lately and still is encouraging people to contribute a monetary gift to "Jehovah" ..(printing books is expensive lol)... they need these money for the courts and fines.

haha you are right. normal jw doesn't exist. maybe yeah i am confused... But I meant it in a good way. Like a genuine person who tries to follow biblical guidance about doing good for other people and do not harm anyone etc.

Of course child abusers are not true jws, because I think those would never do this

International convention

this week i see many jw going over the top and beat their (sometimes medical) limits for the convention preparation with music, ethnic cloats and greeting costumes.. my jw grandparents will turn in their grave.. my opinion is that the jw organization has given their blessing at it because of "give them bread and games".

it keeps the rank and file busy.. what i don't get is that the oldtimers accept all these changes.

I don't like this at all. Even when someone goes as a delegate.
Then they brag how they were on International Convention, and everyone else is like while I'm over there like because who cares honestly... What is the worst thing they don't pay you the way (for example if you are travelling from the middle Europe to the US), you have to reach into your own pocket. Also one friend of mine was there 2 years ago in Austria and she told me they just couldn't spend those nights in cheapest hotels. They had to be in a better looking hotel BECAUSE it didn't meet the requirements of making a good name or what. I mean JW people just gotta have a class or what lol. So they saved up a lot of money for these 5 days... Although they might felt happy because of all the people they met but like... brothers and sisters are giving their money to the org and they even have to pay other expenses when it comes to travelling to I.C.

But I just don't get it. those people who do it are not people and shouldn't even be considered jws because no normal jw does this!

Bizarre image that puzzles me -- any tips?

i am a sometimes weather buff and enjoy the various services our national weather service provides.. interestingly, a few days ago (7/26/19 at 6:20 a.m. to be exact) i was looking at our arkansas statewide weather radar image during breakfast.

on that image, something appeared bizarre so i decided to do a screen capture on my samsung tablet.. today, i am still puzzled so i decided to share it with others in the hope that someone may offer solutions to the puzzle.

just below, is that captured (and unretouched) image.

Disaster Preparedness Training - WTF is that?

but I think everyone should have at least one bag like this even outside of jw. cuz youo never know if some nature disaster strikes, or there is gonna be some thread in the area you live in.... just be prepared

Considering leaving? Not sure what to do?

this forum was a lifeline to me when my world was unraveling.

i thought for a while that my experience was unique and my story important.

something close to 20 years have past and my life is happily, largely drama free.

That's good for you cuz you've got so many life experiences. and you have a wife and family. I was raised in the truth. I'm 24 , got baptized 5 years ago. I did because of Yahweh, because I wanted to belong to God, not to a men (what led me into this were my unfullfiled relationship expetations lol)... but I have always been more of a thinker ... I already knew about the Law of Attraction but not until last year since moving to a foreign country (into a house almost full of pioneers) I started to get more clarity and insight. My mom has always been a free thinker she attended different churches when we were a kids with my brother, and up to this date she still reads ages similar to this one I think and knows a lot of stuff. I guess she stayed because of the huge companion we could have in the future which we do actually and also because this is maybe the only religion that does ot agree with a cross and knows God's name ... Ahh but it is comlicated. In the last days I am doing a researches about similar churches to this one because I am curious how other people view faith. Like there's literally sooo many genuine people than most of the hypocrite jws

oh wow so that's why they are asking for more money lately.. and why they stopped printing publications (this one is really expensive so they move everything toward online publications which is cheap) so they can payout the cases they keep losing. but i do not understand why do they pay for it?

just got a phone call this morning from a very upset anointed brother.

he said he didn't believe me when i told him about the pedo problem and selling off of halls.

he said he was disgusted with the watchtower and had to go to a special meeting last night.

what is happening with these pedo things? the two arcticles studied in WT last week were terrible. i didn't even go there to listen lol. anyway....in the first article they stated there are people who sneak into the congregations and then do this. but i don't get how, when parents shouldn't let their kids with anyone!

Review: 2019 Regional Convention

so here's some random highlights from the convention this year:.

in a couple of videos, they promote a very negative attitude about bettering yourself and taking career opportunities.

for instance, in one video a boy is either getting a college offer or at a job fair, i can't remember exactly, but first he imagines getting better off financially, and then he turns around and imagines losing his money and losing his nice car.

I agree with everything you said. I am JW, got baptized 5 years ago at 19. If I knew all the things I know now, I don't think I'd do that. I think that the thread of "if you won't get baptized Jhvh is not saving you in the final day" is kinda manipulative of course. But if you don't get baptized and are just "a friend of the truth" people inside will look at you in a weird way...
Anyway. I didn't like this convention at all. Maybe it was because my mind wqas constantly somewhere else. But with my friend we agree that it was way too depressive. All of the videos and experiences. If I was a person from "outside" and I went there I would not want to do anything with them ever again. How they can invite so many people to see this. When they are showing off they wealth and manipulation like you pointed - don't have a career instead of we should be preaching lol.
There should be more talks about real love, how to manifest it and prove it in real life. Like in a human and universal way. Law of attraction wise
