  Do you still call on God, by the name Jehovah?

  the other night i was upset and decided to pray to god.

  i was outside looking at the stars and wondering if i was talking to myself or if he is really out there somewhere.. as i prayed i didnt know who to address, i have said jehovah, jesus, father, who ever is out there please hear me.

  i don' t mean to be disrespectful in saying it that way , but just confused.. many of you know we havent been to a meeting in over a year .

  Only people who don't have a close relationship with their fathers, call them by their name

  For me, using the name Jehovah is very comforting. When I talk about God w/other people, I don't use the name Jehovah.....I refer to Him as God. But when I am in the privacy of my own prayers, I prefer using the name Jehovah.

  I make no secrets that I belong to a 12 step program.

  Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Godas we understood Him.

  That always gets me right in the heart. For so many years I was told who/what God was. As an adult I get to understand God in my own terms. I get to make up my mind how to address Him.

  This may be off the beaten track, but I look at my children and listen to what they call each other. My youngest (2) calls my oldest (12) "her". Her name is Andrea, but for some reason, my little guy calls her "her". It is endearing and we know what he means when he says it. I think the same w/God. Call him Allah, Jehovah, God, Higher Power.....whatever. It is what it means to you.....as we understand Him.

  Has Anybody Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

  i hear red dragon is good.

  Francois.......White Oleander is about a young girl who's mother went to prison for murder and the daughter went to many different foster homes. I really did enjoy the book (two thumbs up from me). The book follows Astrid thru the relationship w/her mother (emotionally abusive/controlling) and also the foster homes. Like I said.....if the movie is anything like the book it should be good.

  I just rented "The Others" this weekend (Nicole Kidman).......another good movie. Strange twist at the end. Would recommend this one too.

  PAY RAISE!

  just wanted to drop in and say hello and let ya'll know i haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

  big news, on november 1st i will be promoted to the rank of sergeant first class.

  this is a pay raise of over $300.00 a month (just in time for christmas) praise god!

  Congrats Witch child......

  There is nothing better in life that being HAPPILY married. I know of so many people that have spoken out against marriage......makes me feel sad for them. Married life can be great....lots of work sometimes, but the benefits are fantastic! I can't imagine my life w/out my spouse.

  Hey.......I will go and see Red Dragon with you! Tell me when and where!

  Actually, I just finished reading "White Oleander" and am considering taking in the movie. The book was great! But past experience has told me when the book is great the movie is mediocre.

  Another movie that I am patiently waiting to come out is the new one w/Billy Bob Thorton and Patrick Swayze......something called "Waking up in Reno"...I can't remember the exact title.....only saw the commerical once.

  eye.......doesn't it make you want to come to your seester's and bake something? LOL......

  Orangefatcat..........your "world" sounds beautiful too! Just be careful of those squirrels! LOL.......Fall/Winter are my favorite time of the year. I feel most "alive" during that time. Gets me all giddy and wiggy inside!

  The weather girl came on and just said we can expect 6 inches today! Hot diggity.........

  Oh yes, Lyin.......I still use the name Jehovah. My Higher Power has not changed. Using God's name when I pray is very comforting to me. I prayed as a child and used His name-I pray as an adult and still do the same.

  I feel that I was slighted by the Jehovah Witnesses......not Jehovah Himself. I have a very strong faith in God......just not in religions anymore.

  My spirituality is very important in my life. Without it, I feel "off course".
