Just called Beck's cell and Joanna answered "hello...purgatory" to which my reply was "I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number. I was looking for hell." hehe The MN peeps have arrived safe and sound in the Windy City and there were no incidents, accidents nor small animals injured during their road trip. Have fun guys!

What inanimate objects "move" you?
by AlmostAtheist ini don't consider myself an overly emotional person, but gina and i went to an art museum years ago and i was nearly in tears over something i saw there.
it was a statue of an old man carrying a jug.
it was made two thousand years ago.

Mine isn't a statute or art...but is an object that I wear everday. It is the wedding band of my late husband. It is something that he touched, he wore. Something that has lots of memories tied to it and a reminder of how precious life is and how I need to live each day to the fullest because I never know when it will end. It is my most prized possession and it would be the one thing that could never be replaced.

What do you make of this picture?

to us it looks like a little human head!

I enjoy all kinds of music but two of my favorite genres are blues and contemporary folk. I like the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Allman Bros., Jimmy Thackery, Otis and the Alligators, Little Mike and the Mechanics. As far as contemporary folk, I have enjoyed artists like Kris Delmhorst and Lori McKenna.

Orangefatcats Surgery
by orangefatcat inwell yesterday i saw the surgeon, with regards to my left hip and because it is so advanced with osteoarthritis and is crumbling the doctor says my surgical date is march the 3rd.
he said also he may have a cancellation for feburary and i may be able to have that day.

Why did we become JW?
by BigG ini was brought up in the 'truth' for many years until i was 20 or thereabouts and now being on the outside looking in i see not only jw's for what they really are but i believe i see religion for what it really is too.. consider this point, and this reminds me of a song written by alanis morrisette entitled, forgiven which is a pretty cool stab at religion itself if you read the lyrics closely...one part of the lyrics is 'we all had our reasons to be there'.
if you came into the truth, consider the reasons why, what were the circumstances of your life...were you searching for something.
even if they were brought up in it...consider the reasons why their parents started to believe.

I had no choice but to become one due to me being so young. I believe my mother became one due to a string of catastrophic events and was vulnerable at the time...and the dubs offered her hope and direction. Our dad followed suit since Mom joined.
