I thought that "donations" were made discretely in the box at the back of the Hall. Didn't realize that the congregation was aware of whom made what contributions.

Donations from Dubs
by WildTurkey ini was secretary in my cong, so i know how much the dubs donated, the cong i attended has about 60 publishers, but 5 families supported the whole kh.
i guess in my cong the dubs were obedient to all the "faith slave" said until it hurt their pockets.

* EX-JW 2003 Yearbook *
by YoursChelbie inwe have all seen the yearbooks that are printed by wts with accounts of people who suffered to become part of their organization.
would it not be helpful to raise public awareness if the ex-jw community likewise had a *yearbook* including experiences of those who have overcome extraordinary obstacles while in the cult or because they were trying to leave the cult?
granted, everyone's story has it own merit, but if we had to narrow down the number of people to be profiled--who would you chose?

Animal......you make me puddle! LOL.......
As for Jesse James........ah, yeah......ever get to see one of his bike in person? HOLY SHIT! Nice! The set of pipes (forgot which ones) that filthy wanted at one time ran a mere $900! Every once and awhile on the Discovery Channel, they air an episode of Jesse James and how he makes his bikes. If you ever get a chance to see it.....DO! Very interesting!

Sisters Rock
by joannadandy ini was looking for some bad 80's pics to post of me in another thread, and i came across a ton of me and my sister.
there is a big age gap between us, she is 12 years older than me.
so when i was in kindergarten she was a senior in high school.

What great pics Joanna! I love the sunflower field pic too!
YES.....sisters do rock, don't they? I don't know what I would do without eyegirl!
There is 10 years between eyegirl and me......so I am about 11 yrs old and eyegirl about 1 in this photo.
This is a pic of our "reunion" day (Easter Sunday, 2001) after being seperated for 16 years! We still have to go out and get matching swimsuits yet! LOL

i had my neighbours beaten up last night!
by josephus inmy neighbours have been having a party for the last two weeks.
they are both drunks, and spend the day drinking with their mates outside my brothers apartment where i currently live.
i tried to stop them, but as they are convicted violent crims i was at a loss.. now instead of tolerating it i asked the local terrorists for help.

Starting Up An Ex JW Self Help Support Group ....
by Celtic inhave you ever thought of starting up and/or facilitating your own ex jw support group?.
very useful information here:.

Thanks for the info. I belong to a 12-step support group and, for me, it does wonders! So nice to be able to sit and talk w/people who understand and can offer support to a similiar problem/dilema.
I would love to start a support group for xjw's here in Northern Minnesota. Hmm.....maybe someday.

Thanks TR......I really enjoy riding. My husband is getting out of it......that is why his bike is for sale. He says he just doesn't enjoy it like before and he also has a new hobby......fourwheelin'. I was pretty upset about losing my riding buddy (the only riding buddy I get to sleep with, mind you!) but I figure to each their own. I won't hold him back with his mudding hobby (what started as one four wheeler has now grown to FOUR) and he doesn't hold me back with the biking. In fact, I just informed him that next year I am going out to Sturgis again....without him........boo hoo! Wonder what Animal is doing that week? LOL

Should I go??????
by SpiceItUp inok---a bit of background first.
there is this older lady that has been in my parents congregation ever since we moved to fl (14 yrs ago).
she was the sweetest, funniest, quirkiest woman ever.

spice, I would say "go"! This is for you to say your goodbyes and show respect to a friend that you loved and will miss. Make out a long grocery list before you go and when anyone tries to preach to you, try to remember everything on that list. Recite it in your mind.....it will look like you are intently listening but your secret will be safe with us!
