also, i know there are so many informative books out there written by exjws, i although have not read any yet, as i just started my research, although i have a book given to me by a friend of mine, that i started reading yesterday, and i couldn't hardly put it down!!!

it's "jehovah's witnesses, watch out for the watchtower" -- written by an exjw gordon e. duggar.

i think it was published in mid 1980's, a very informative book!

I haven't read COC yet.....but my intentions are to this winter. I was suprised to find out that our library doesn't carry it.......hmmm........

It felt like the Tuesday night Book Study

i haven't posted in awhile, just reading when i can.

hubby and i are starting a new business with some other people.

our business is in a slump right now so we need some other avenues to bring in money.. we've been meeting at our house with other people that wanted to get involved.

Well, good luck Sadie w/your business ventures.

We use to have bookstudy in our basement and one of the jobs that me and my brother use to do was vacuum and set up chairs. To this day, I vacuum in straight lines.......front and back in nice little very uniform strips so that it looks nice. And folding chairs.......well even to this day they HAVE to be put in small rows otherwise something just insn't right! LOL

Here is who can sing the blues.

many blues songs begin with "woke up this mornin'..." this is to differentiate blues musicians from most other musicians, who sleep past noon.

"i got a good woman" is a bad way to begin the blues, unless you stick something nasty in the next line, like "i got a good woman, with the meanest face in town.

the nice thing about the blues is that once you've written the first line, you're pretty much done with the second line too.

Why not cattleprods intstead?

just a quickie....about 3 years ago a talk was given at the kh where pregnant women were asked to monitor thier unborn babies movement, it was suggested that if the child moves around during meetings that mother should gently prod the belly with a pencil in order to learn the unborn baby that he/she shouldnt fidgit during meeting hours, it was kind of a behavioural tactic!!!!!

does anyone know if that was ever written down in any mags?.......poor kids, discipline starts before they are even born in the wt...how sick.. .

coincidently i remember being told that it parents should let their unborn children listen to kingdom melodies as a relaxing therapy....no wonder the mental health of jws is pretty darn bad!.

It is amazing what babies get use to hearing in the womb. I rode my bike all thru my pregnancy (yeah, go ahead and laugh......I was real sexy on a Harley all big and fat )and when my youngest was born, he would stop whatever he was doing and smile when Mom started up her bike! It was very familiar to him. All was fine until one day I came home to find that Filthy had put the baby in the saddle bag as a joke to me! No babies were harmed in filming of that practical joke.....LOL

When I was a kid, we had an elder be df'd for a short period of time. I really liked Earl. He was also so kind and nice. Then one day at the meeting the announcement was made and I remember no longer being able to talk to him. When I would walk to the back of the KH during the meeting and our eyes would meet, they were so sad but he would wink at me and I would smile. I think that may have been the "seed of doubt" that was planted for me in regards to how people are treated.
