Worldly people

as i have come to see i have way more friends at school than my kingdom hall but if i get asked about school and i say something about my friends or ask to hang out with my friends to my aunt she gives me a talk about not to like worldly people to much.. for example i ask to go to my friends house (that is a girl)i have known her from 1st grade and my aunt gets mad at me saying what if she says i raped her or something but she lets me go by my self with brothers to hang out if i want but theres a chance i will get raped there to.. read my other posts to understand my story .

I hope it gets removed. Especially as this thread has been started by someone who is a young teenager

I apologize for my florid language. I get carried away sometimes and forget that not everyone is as comfortable with talking about sex and gender issues as I am. But I stick by my theme: most women are socialized to be passive and afraid to assert their sexuality and intelligence. It has nothing to do with nature and all to do with nurture, as my own experiences and those of many others prove beyond a doubt. Maybe some guys are attracted to weak willed bimbos, but I know plenty of men who find intelligence, self-confidence and even aggression to be among the most enticing traits a girl can possess. It's frustrating to know so many good-looking women with such boring personas. I have to have faith that deep down, beneath that vapid exterior, a tigress is slumbering; beaten down by social expectations and religiously inspired shame.. but still alive and perhaps struggling to wake up and regain her sovereignty.

SAHS: When I was about eight years old, our neighbour’s girl of around the same age (eight) used to show me her private parts, purely of her own volition. She actually initiated wanting me to investigate such parts of hers manually. But, believe it or not, it was completely “innocent” (as per both our ages).

OMG, that is funny.. and kinda sad...

When I was 6 this girl who attended the daycare facility I went to after school started molesting me. I remember the first time it happened: I was alone, on my way to the bathroom, when she literally leaped on me like a ferocious little lioness! I was shocked and frightened at first, but once I gave up fighting her I noticed I was getting hard and decided to let her do whatever she wanted... She was a little girl of course - so no tits or ass - but she had a very pretty face: big blue eyes, the whitest skin and a long, wavy mane of golden hair...

From age 6 'till about 12 I was absolutely girl crazy! Back then I always had a girl whom I was really close to and physically intimate with, as well as plenty of platonic girlfriends too; but once they started puberty I lost interest. Physically they became more attractive, but their personalities seemed to flatten out and their IQs dropped. It was not at all like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. It was more like seeing someone you enjoyed spending time with become senile until there was very little left of them. Why do girls become so passive and air-headed as soon as they hit puberty? Why can't those with hot bodies have equally sexy personalities? I blame Jehovah!

I mean what if an elephant goes into musk in the local zoo, breaks out, charges you and you become a paraplegic? That could happen too, you know.

Lol. But it's typical of the prurient mindset of many JWs I have met. I remember I once went to live with my cousin in New Orleans for a few months and when I returned my JW mother had the nerve to ask me at dinner if my cousin and I had had sex (my cousin was a girl, I'm a guy)! I said "No!" in a tone that perfectly conveyed "WTF are you talking about you sick bitch!" That's not to imply that I have anything against kissing cousins. There can never be any wrong in loving, since no one chooses who they are going to love. But what kind of mind comes up with something like that out the blue?

When I was the OP's age my mom conspired to sabotage my relationship with my best friend by lying to both of us and reporting me to her elder father for apostasy. I only discovered her role in it years later, but I'll never forget her casual, self righteous attitude. She said that it was for our own good. That if we had continued on as friends we might have been tempted to have sex with each other. Now, being 13, I was at that age when boys normally become VERY interested in girls, but what? This wasn't some slut I had met at school. This was my best friend whom I had known since I was 7 years old!

Does my mom know anything about human psychology? People don't typically get the hots for cousins or members of the opposite sex they've known since before their balls dropped. But I guess in the perverted mind of a JW, anything's possible; right? I sometimes wonder if this cult attracts people with abnormal sexuality. A therapist once told me that in his experience members of high control groups like JWs, that segregate the sexes, often have low impulse control. Like if a man knows that he might rape a woman if left alone with one, he will join a religion that prevents him from ever being in that situation.

Satan because he could perform all the miracles Jesus could, but without any moral restraints. We could go out church hopping every Sunday and tempt Christians and Muslims away from their god.

And if I can go extra-biblical: Lilith. Adam dumped her because she wanted to be on top, but speaking for myself that's just the sort of attitude I'm looking for in a woman.

My advice is that you keep a close eye on your aunt and that you don't believe a thing she might say concerning your friends. People like her have no scruples when it comes to 'protecting' their kids from 'bad associations'; she will lie to you and your friends - will say absolutely anything - to sabotage your relationships! Don't allow your warm, filial feelings to cloud your judgment on this matter. Don't look upon her as a family member. Instead, see her for the snake she is. JWs can never be trusted because their loyalty to the Watchtower will always trump any compassion, rationality or sense of honor which they might retain.

I speak from experience.

Grooming as a Witness

growing up as a teenager, i would occasionally get some counseling for having my hair a bit too long by a couple of elders in the congregation.

one time i cut my hair shorter than usual and one elder said i was cutting it too short!

so it made me feel like anything i did wouldn't satisfy them.

I grew out my hair after I was convicted of apostasy at 14 and informally shunned. Even though I still had to attend the meeting 3 times a week, it felt great to be able to stick it to them with my long ponytail ! And yes, I was relentlessly pressured to get it cut, but what could they do? They had nothing left to threaten me with.

I have mixed feelings about it. I did waste a lot of time in 'the preaching work' that could have been better spent studying (or even playing video games, for that matter). The meetings were a bore and the the assemblies filled me with dread. But I did make friends that I never would have had I not been a JW and despite our current alienation I still love them and don't regret knowing them.

I also enjoyed going out in field service and learning about other people's religious beliefs. While many of them were just Christian fundies as insufferably dogmatic and judgmental as JWs, I also had the pleasure of conversing with atheists, new agers, neo-pagans and ufo enthusiasts. I had a hard time concealing my fascination with other belief systems and often had to remind myself that I was there to tell them about my religion, not learn about theirs.

In retrospect, being a JW meant feeling bored and stifled most of time, but there were just enough good things about it to make me hesitate over regretting I wasn't just raised a Methodist instead. The only aspect of my childhood I totally and unequivocally regret is having to attend public school 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. It took up far more of my time than the JWs did and gave me absolutely nothing back in terms of compensation. I wasted so many hours in what was essentially daycare that I could have invested in really learning something; not to mention all the bullying and sexual harassment I had to endure...

Am I selfish?

tonight i had an argument with both my parents.

my parents are aware of my feelings towards the organization, and it saddens them because i am their first born son.

they had high expectations of me, my father dreamt of him and i serving together as elders.

It's not unusual to feel guilt in your situation, but it is misguided. Your parents are trying to hold you responsible for something you have no control over: your beliefs. No one can truly decide to believe anything (though they can decide to PRETEND to believe things they really don't) because beliefs are simply conclusions that our minds draw from the available evidence. You can no more choose to believe in the Watchtower BS (Belief System) than you could choose to believe that the Earth is flat, motionless and lies at the center of the cosmos. Once you understand something, you can't ever go back to not understanding it.

That said, your parents probably should feel guilty. While no one can control their beliefs, most people can control their behavior to some degree. If they are going to shun you simply because your mind isn't capable of ignoring the overwhelming evidence against the Watchtower BS, then this is a behavior they have definitely decided upon and they are totally free to change it despite the threat of emotional blackmail they are living under.

I in no way condone what this man did (what a creep!) but I've got to say that the long term psychological damage these girls suffered seems way out of proportion to what they endured. Being groped and fondled for a few minutes just seems so trivial to me; revolting and skin-crawling yes, but not exactly traumatizing! I was groped and fondled almost every day while on the school bus, but compared to what I had to worry about when I actually got to school, it was nothing.

I guess this testifies to how messed up my own childhood really was.

Ran into my brother at a concert; first time I've seen him in years......

my wife and i went to a concert on friday night.

there was a friend of ours there doing security, and she happens to be an exjw too.

she sent me a message on messenger to inform me that my brother and his wife were at the show, not knowing that i'd be there too.

I no longer live in the same place as my old JW friends but I wish I had possessed your courage back when I did. Back then I would just try to avoid them as much as possible... something I really regret now that I've finally grown a pair. The problem is that even if I now had the opportunity to meet them in person, I'm afraid I'd still be the anxious one while they would come out of it calm and unperturbed. How do you pull it off without looking like a desperate, jilted lover?
