  i was watching video on youtube about a man who gave up one of his kidneys to his sister who was suffering from kidney disease.

  for him it was no small sacrifice, since he isn't in the best of health himself.

  still, he had no hesitations over it and no regrets either.

  Does Anyone Wish Satan Were Real?

  i left the memorial tonight with a renewed antagonism towards all that is good and holy.

  i doubt the existence of satan, but i had to recite two "our father who wert in heaven..." prayers just to feel cleansed of the miasma of sanctity i had just endured for over an hour!.

  it's times like these when i wish that there really were a devil that i could sell my soul to in exchange for his support in corrupting as many christians away from their faith as i possibly can.

  we were all told when we were in the watchtower that we should be grateful to be part of such a loving family.

  we were told that just beyond the superficial glamour of the world was a quagmire of despair, emptiness and pain waiting to suck us in.

  obviously, we took that part with a mountain of salt or we wouldn't be here today.

  How St. Patrick Saved Me From Christianity

  there was a celtic fair every st. patty's day where i grew up and my mom would take me there on the flimsy premise that since it was a celtic fair (not an irish fair) and i was half-scot, it wouldn't be celebrating a holiday.. the first time we went i was 10 and i remember there were all these pretty teenaged girls there dressed in white, dancing around a very firm, very thick may pole.

  so far so good... next i noticed that most of the merchants were women in long-flowing robes who wore pentagrams and celtic knots.

  okay, should be creeped out at this point, but they seem like nice girls with normal sized noses and no warts.

  it probably will never happen but... imagine the gb recieved some new light that told them the great tribulation was imminent.

  the world is going to hell and all jws can expect until armageddon is terrible persecution the likes of which no christian has ever experienced in two thousand years.

  but jehovah has a solution: put yourself and your family 'to sleep' and after armageddon's over, jehovah will 'wake his people up' at the resurrection.

  Have any ex-jws considered joining the Bible Students?

  their fundamental beliefs are much like jehovah's witnesses sans the paranoia, authoritarianism, stifling rules, and end-times enthusiasm.

  you don't even have to become a bible student to be saved, you could be an idol worshipping heathen and still get resurrected in the milenium.

  if i still believed in the divine inspiration of the scriptures, i would be a bible student.
