It is a crime and should be reported. let the police/DA sort out whether to press charges. Why are JWs trying to be judge, jury and executioner all in one?

Has their policy not done enough damage to countless lives?

i asked a relative what she would do if her young daughter was raped by the neighbor. She exploded and immediately said that she would call the police . But what if he was a JW? She reversed course. When will the insanity end?????

The quality and substance in comments and posts on this site have more depth and relevance IMO. Reddit has it's following but most are just venting (that can be therapeutic also). I appreciate the moderation on this site and the accuracy of the information that is posted. WTC patrols both sites looking for missiles that could land in their yard, but they seem to be particularly interested in this site. That tells me that they fear what is posted here.

Terry, all I could think of was why Marx hunted in his pajamas. My mother explained the double meaning and all I could think of was that the pajamas must have been uncomfortably tight on that elephant.

I was primed for indoctrination by WTC - missing the point and the whole picture.

A restaurant in town was closed by the health dept. I was dumfounded, how could a millin roaches and a hundred rats be wrong? Sadly I used that reasoning to reassure a Bible study that 8 million JWs must surely be right. He countered with "Christendom has a billion people who feel the same way don't they?"

He was right, and he wasn't even smart. I needed to start questioning everything. I did. Here I am.

Is the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY the "faithful and discreet slave" of Matt. 24:45-47?

If the GB is the F&DS, they only realized it in the last 10 years. That fact alone leads me to believe that they assumed the name w/o due appointment by the Master. They claim to have been appointed in 1919 after his return. HELLO! The slave Jesus referenced was appointed BEFORE he left (Matt 24:45). Furthermore, they did not take control over all his belongings until 2013 when they began to take ownership of all the KHs. There is speculation that they proclaimed themselves as the F&DS just for this purpose. As well, their actions demonstrate that any food they 'prepared' lacked genuine spiritual nutrition, something expected of a truly faithful slave. Not only was much of it wrong, it had to be recalled and served agin countless times.

As for discreet, they are very secretive - but not discreet.

In biblical times, a master with slaves might travel to do business and leave his slaves to continue the operations of the estate. The most responsible, loyal slave would naturally be appointed in the master's absence to oversee household and local business matters. The slave's discretion was a must since enemies of the master might seek to take advantage during the master's absence. The discreet slave would not reveal how long the master would be away. As far as the enemies (and the slave) were aware, the master could return at any moment. The slave would never march around saying that the master was coming home on a certain date. He kept his head down, did his work, thereby confusing any nefarious plans by the master's enemies.

In contrast, the GB has trumpeted for 143 years that the master was arriving at any minute. They even pinpointed specific years and the month that they were certain would herald his arrival. When he did not, they beat any fellow slaves who spoke out about their lack of discretion. The false ideas gave enemies of the master lots of fuel to ridicule Christians in general, painting them with a broad brush. In 1925 and 1975, many fellow slaves left the household, convinced that WTC (and the GB in 1975) were clueless charlatans, despite being dogmatic.

In the last 143 years, WTC has received billions in donations and had access to unlimited free labor. They have little to show for it other than some buildings (in severe need of maintenance), off-shore bank accounts, and countless broken families who cannot even speak with one another due to shunning. CSA consumes the majority of their discretionary spending as they settle more and more cases out of court. We could go on and on but what is the point? Back to the question in the post...

Is the GB the F&DS Jesus mentioned in passing? Let the reader use discernment.

isaiah 43:10. in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god and the word was god.

My translation of the Bible has 1329 pages in it and still we debate whether God is 1 or 3. This tells me that God was not insecure about his makeup, or he could have devoted at least one full page to describing himself and presto! - no more ambiguity.

I have an opinion but I have never felt comfortable about debating with fellow Christians over matters that are not black and white in the scriptures. I used to marvel that WTC dogmatically took a position on every issue from masturbation to chewing gum, despite the lack of indisputable scriptural backing. If I am wrong, I am wrong, but I won't apologize for WTC, that's as dogmatic as I will be.

the broadcast was presented by lett who mentions he had the backing of the other gb members regarding his comments.. the broadcast is basically about soliciting jws for funds as well as other 'valuable things' for the organisation.

this is the one where he claims that the money flowing out was more than the money flowing in.

Since their is no annual financial disclosure for the public to see, we can only observe that KHs are being sold and all money is going back to the Branch. However - if Lett meant that they are paying more than they are getting due to settlement of CSA cases, he may actually be correct,

Very funny and a damning expose of the ridiculousness at conventions!

1. They are cash cows for WTC

2. They are saturated with canned statements and disingenuous expressions of affection

3. Control is the real theme as every moment is an opportunity to dominate the sheep

4. Children are their burden - a necessary evil for the religion to survive

5. No one remembers anything because nothing is worth remembering!

I recall the seeing a family turned away at the door for arriving without a name badge. They had received an invitation and wanted to see what it was all about so they traveled across town to attend. The attendants did not recall the invitation campaign since they had not participated. They felt empowered to deny access.

It is unlikely that JWs will continue to travel long distances, pay for overnight accomodations, and be talked down to like they are children. I think the numbers will continue to plummet as the beatings intensify.

Ernest, what the KS says to do and what actually happens in a CSA case are often very different. i could cite numerous cases but I am not ready to go public - yet.

in many high profile cases, Legal and the Service desk tossed the KS directions and took the route of damage control instead. You don’t have to believe it - that is your right and I respect that. I speak from real experience.

"Special Talk" simply means "not in the usual weekly schedule". There is nothing special about anything WTC does. It is all Wash, Rinse and Repeat.

Earnest, I appreciate your accuracy in calling out the change of policy. It is true that the policy has changed but it still allows the JC to make some decisions on their own despite their lack of qualifications. They often make judgement calls that reflect lack of proper training. In my dealings with the Branch, their legal advice directed the JC to take the minimal action required by law with no regard for the victim.

Where CSA is concerned, JWs need to call the police and let the police sort through the CRIME. Police are the legally designated entity for dealing with this type of CRIME, and they have resources for determining guilt that JC's do not have. As well, they have trained personnel that know how to assist victims without re-traumatizing them.

Then, based on the findings of the police, the JC could act accordingly with the accused. I am certain that a chimp with half of his brain tied behind his back, could re-write the WTC policy to make it legally correct and helpful. So why are they struggling still? They seek to shield pedophiles who might cut a deal with prosecutors by naming other pedos, unraveling the whole thing.

It is known to law enforcement that pedophiles often know other pedophiles. WTC fears that they will rat others out and the bread crumbs will lead back to Bethel. When a judicial committee calls Legal, there can be long waits while the attorney searches - searches for what? They are supposed to be state experts, but they are conducting other searches. The meta data they have for the 3 databases helps them find links between people. I have long suspected that they are looking to see if relationships might be exposed. The bad advice they have been known to give were rookie mistakes - or were they? Perhaps other former elders could weigh in.
