  What should I do?

  i have pioneered for over four years.

  i have three children and a wife who at times has severe back problems.

  i have worked two jobs just to stay ahead of the bills and provide for my family.

  I know we should be supporting the ones taking the lead (elders) but sometimes it is very difficult. There are a few that have a very high minded attitude. I like individuals that are down to earth and treat people fairly. I have seen the opposite a lot lately especially with a few in our congregation. One sister was in an abusive relationship. Her husband, also a Jehovah's Witness was not repremanded in any way by the elders. I believe because of her being of Spanish decent and him White, for some reason she was just not that important. This sister left the congregation a few weeks ago and has not been back. My wife and her talk over the phone alot. I get to the point of anger when my wife tells me what this poor sister has been through. I pray to Jehovah hopeing that something is done about this.

  I have an interesting one for you Seven and Frenchy.

  Turn your NWT Refernce Bible to page 1459. See 1 Peter 3:15, now after reading it look at the reference (bottom of the page) after the asterix where it says Lord. The verse is refering to Jesus, the reference refers to Jehovah.

  Also look at page 1422. 1 Thess 4:15-16 read the verses, look at the asterix after Lord in both versus, then look at the reference on the bottom of the page.

  Is it Jehovah who is decending from heaven with the voice of an archangel? The reference says so.

  Jehovah is refereced to be Jesus in verse 15.

  Thanks for your support everyone. I wish you all were in my congregation. My wife says she is glad I found this board. She says that it appears there are some that have the same questions we have had for a long time. The fear of being labled an opposer by those in our congregation has kept us silent. I know of only one person in our congregation that I can openly express questions such as those on this forum.

  Thank you SevenofNine. There is only one elder in my congregation that I feel has really backed me in my decision to stop pioneering. It seems that the statis of being a pioneer was as important as my health and family to some in the congregation. I was not expecting such a reaction. Especially from a few I consider very good friends as well as brothers and sisters.

  Where is the board you mentioned, LeftBehind? Can you post the URL on this thread.

  Also, I agree with you about the quality of the talks being given and the mundane atmosphere at the Kingdom Hall. I find myself day dreaming more and more lately. Maybe this is because I feel in a way I am not learning anything new that builds and uplifts me spiritually. The last year I pioneered, I felt as though I was just going through the motions. I feel like this more and more. Maybe our focus is not where Jehovah wants it to be.

  You asked can what is left be salvaged, if not, where do we go? The more I read of the Bible, the more I understand that it is Jehovah through his son whom we should put our trust in. The apostle Peter answered Jesus in verse 68 of the book of John, "Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life.

  When our focus is taken off of Jesus the Son of God, everything seems to fall apart. It seems that our focus is more on meeting attendance and counting hours of field service.

  There are so many embarrasing things that were taught by the WT that I have read from that site, I think I will join the Mormon church.

  Just Kidding!

  I have read as much rediculous teachings by the LDS recently. I am amazed that one remains a Mormon if they understand that the Book of Mormon contradicts not only the Bible, but also the Mormon churches main works, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. Seems their so called prophets like Joseph Smith was nothing but a con-man.

  Thank you for the advice. I am spending more time with the family. It is like a huge burden lifted from me as well as my family not having to put the amount of hours in as a pioneer with all of my other obligations. As the days go on, I feel less and less guilt for not continuing to pioneer.

  I am enjoying my family more, something I have not really done in the last four years as a pioneer.
