by TR inthis is sort of a take-off of the "what should the wt do" thread.. i need to get together a board of directors and elect a president and officers.
we need to figure out a doctrine, a manifesto, and a set of disciplinary rules.
we need to figure out a way to fund our new movement.

I wish to be Distributer Of Adult Beverages. Of course I will need a nice bar, you know, something like Judge Rutherford had at Bethsarim.
BTW, if you make it to Reno or Tahoe let me know. My wife and I go to both places almost every year. It would be good to see you in person.

Look at the picture in the June 1, 1993 WT. Jesus is carrying a pole up the hill to Golgatha that he is going to be crucified on. Jesus has a crown of thorns and is wearing only a towel around his waist.
Now the WT decided to use this picture again in the January 1,2001 WT.
Notice the changes. The size of the pole Jesus is carrying is much smaller. Jesus has no crown of thorns and is fully clothed.I have a few ideas on why the change but am interested in your opinions.

Should I re-subscribe?
by Gopher inwell, i've been "outside" for a year now.
those pesky "expiring subscription" slips have reached me.. how many think it's beneficial to have a subscription, just to keep tabs on what's going on in the wt world?
(see my earlier post about "rice christians") .

The Witnesses set up a table in one of our local malls advertising the WT publications as well as the books and pamphlets. On occasions my wife and I will sit across from the table and have a cup of coffee when we have a few minutes to kill. (This was a few years ago)
I have several people that were never Witnesses ask for the free literature that was put out. The witnesses got wise as to what was transpiring, and two years ago started taking the names and address of the interested party so the Witness could drop off the literature at their home and try to get a foot in the door to do a little preaching.
In all the time the table was set up at the mall and people could receive the literature right there, I obtained over 700 books and over 1500 magazines in three years.
The Witnesses think they have the problem licked.

Why I believe this site is beneficial
by jelly init seems to me that when you are in the org.
your social skills begin to atrophy.
i believe this is do to many reasons but the main two are the theocratic ministry school and the extreme not part of the world stand the society takes.. the theocratic ministry school is the orgs attempt to make people better teachers, in reality all it does is ingrain bad debate habits.

If you are interested in receiving the magazines without a subscription, just try out your local Laundry mats or Doctor office as well as old folk homes. I have picked up several hundred magazines this way just last year alone. There are two gas stations I fill my vans and truck up at, and the Witnesses leave the mags with certain attendants. The attendants know me and save the magazines for me and the witnesses don't have a clue.

You nailed it Gopher.
What you said about the circuit overseer telling you to read news papers so as to have a topic of discussion for the ministry. A few of the elders in the congregation I went to told us the same thing. I picked up a news paper at a University in 1989 and on the front page was two individuals, a man and his wife, Large picture and all explaining why they left the Watchtower Society.
Guess what? I read the article and went to the KH library to look up a few things in the article. I then had a meeting with two elders and presented this article to them. Well, needless to say, I was booted out of the WT in 1989. There were a few more things that led up to this but it would take to long to tell you all of it. I am GLAD I am out.
Now I am an evil apostate that is controlled by Satan. LOL

i have been a jw for 20 yrs and still active(family reasons).
but nobody but nobody has refuted to my mind, the fact nobody does the evangelizing work jesus did.

I know of a few that are in your situation, not an easy place to be in I agree!
You mentioned that you go door to door to help people understand about the Kingdom of God, and that because of the global scale in the preaching work, you believe it has Divine backing.
Do you believe the Trinity Broadcast network with Paul and Jan Crouse also have Divine backing with helping people on a Global scale learn about the Kingdom of God, not to mention all of the so called Divine healing they do in the name of Christ and his Kingdom?
You see normie, they have several Satelites they broadcast from Globally besides travel with missionaries around the world to reach people with their version of the Kingdom of God.
Also the Mormon church preach Globally as well as have Satelites rigged up to just about every Mormon church in the world to help people learn about their version of the Kingdom of God.
I ask you normie, what version is correct? There are different gospels with different doctrines from different religions all around the world reaching out to help people. Which is correct?
And if many of them are wrong in what they teach and believe, are they really helping people with the truth, or are they hurting people with a lie?

Alan and I made some valid points useing the Bible as well as the WT publications. Why do you ignore our posts?
Is it that you both have that brick wall blocking your thinking Logical speaks of.
Come on and have some guts and show us what truth you have. Answer Alan and my response and stop ignoring the real truth.
