President Bush
by Rado Vleugel inin the netherlands and many other european countries president bush of the united states of america is considered as a man with low intellectual capabilities and a narrow minded unilateral view on the rest of the world who uses one-liners in stead of founded argumentation.
but in the us he is seen by most americans as a wise and great statesman, a marvellous leader in difficult times.. i am interested how jws in congregations from different countries look at president bush although they usually dont openly have an opinion about politicians.
opinions from ex-jws are of course also welcome.. rado vleugel.

I wonder how many nations get hand outs and support from the USA and yet still think Bush is a moron?
Maybe old president moron ought to let them fend for themselves and keep the tax payers money in the USA. I know I would be living better if I did not have all the Federal and State taxes to pay each year with my business.

Raymond Franz's Betrayal
by IslandWoman inthanks for calling this to my attention.
my reason for not wanting book material to be run on certain web sites is purely because of finding their approach out of harmony with my own principles and standards, so many are engaged in watch tower trashing and extremely negative.
some sites present material that promotes agnosticism and distrust of the scriptures, even atheism (one such site being in scandanavia).

IW,
I know of a few xjws that regularly have Bible Studies at their home or the home of others. A few of these exjws have written books. None of them have ever posted here. As a matter of fact, one of them does not know the first thing about the computer. Basically they are Br. Nobody. Most on this forum probably have not heard about them. How can they get others to gather together for fellowship? Are they famous? Is Ray really famous? How many people besides many exjws and some active JWs actually know about Ray Franz?
Do you know who Chuck Sackett is? Is he famous?

"Ray Franz and others of his ilk must speak out hear!"
Since this forums inception there have been many speak out against the WT and share their feelings. There have also been some of the likes of Ray Franz 'ilk' post here. I myself am glad that Ray does not frequent the forums. I am sure the work he is involved in takes up all his energy and time and is important in ways that most do not know.
Ray Franz and what he has done is admirable.

by teejay inokay, i know what *my* deal is.
i'm kinda stuck in a life that i really see no way of escaping.
a big part of my deal is that i was raised without a dad who walked out on his family and so i have it in me to be the dad my dad never was.

teejay,
I am 44 also. I got a jump on you as far as having kids. Just to let you know, raising kids is a real learning experience, I am sure you have figured that out. I was in a tough situaution over 9 years ago. My exwife decided that raising kids and staying home was not for her. She got into the party scene and in the mean time I was running a business and handling all the affairs around the house. This means taking care of the three kids. There was a battle in court for custody of the kids, I won full physical custody. This is not an easy task for a man. The woman usually has the edge in these matters.
I am remarried to a knock out woman 10 years older than me. The kids are doing fantastic. My youngest daughter made the principles honor role for the second year in a row. She was the top student in the 8th grade for her school. The exwife has moved out of town, she has two other kids by two other guys, she does not even know who the father is of one of the kids. I am glad she keeps her distance.
I did not bring up any of the JW garbage in this, that is a story in itself. I am sure with a dad like you your daughter is in great hands. I know what you mean by not having the words to discribe how glad we are for our kids. I was in the delivery room when the kids were born. I cut the ambilical cord and was the first to hold all three, excluding the doctor. Seeing your own child being born does something to you.

New WTS Ministry Textbook
by artful ingreetings.. since this is my first post to this board, i would like to submit some interesting information from a new watchtower society (wts) ministry textbook.
this new publication is to replace the existing "school guidebook" and is to be used by all jws starting in 2003. .
please excuse me if this information has already been posted elsewhere on the board but i think that an interesting discussion is to be had here.

Hello Ozzie,
If the answer is that the families depicted by the WT living in a paradise earth is before Armageddon, then why the need for Armageddon if the earth is indeed already a paradise?

artful,
A few thoughts on the biblical innaccuracy of the WTs belief about paradise on earth.
Matthew 22:20 for in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven. (NWT)
Mark 12:25 For when they rise from the dead, neither do men marry, nor are women given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven. (NWT)
Luke 20:35 but those who have been counted worthy of gaining that system of things and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. (NWT)
36: In fact neither can they die anymore, for they are like angels, and they are God's children by being God's children of the resurrection. The question is, in light of these scriptures, why does the Watchtower show pictures of married couples with children living on a paradise earth after Armageddon?
Are these families living before the resurrection and after Armageddon?
How can those resurrected multiply the earth as the WT depicts when they will be as angels of God in heaven?

Teejay,
I believe you will make a difference in your daughters life, a positive difference. I know a few that have walked away being in your shoes. The love you have for your daughter and the knowledge you have will be the difference.
I am fortunate enought to have family that have walked away from the WT as well as a few good friends that did the same. I have always kept contact with some school buddies that were never JWs. I was accepted as a friend by them when I was a JW and they accept me now. We have been through many experiences.
BTW, how old is your daughter?
I have two daughters 15&14 and one son 12.Scorpion
