  hello all, registered just to post this and see what you all had to say about this.

  i, for one, am in shock.

  it was anounced today on "extra" and they said we would soon see a change in his music because he was "marrying his music to his religion.

  The WT cares about hair length, not me. I have shoulder length hair myself. My hair is way longer than Prince but I am buffed out. Prince is a wimp and has the mind of a wimp for joining the WT cult. Like I said, he has a war going on inside himself.

  question its seems like for the past 3 weeks by jw boyfriend stays.

  after the bible meetings for a long time.

  last week they kept him.

  Pray he does get kicked out. It would be the best thing for you both.

  In my personal situation, the elders and PO could not wait till the meetings were over. Now they wish they would have just left things alone when I decided not to return. It is a long story.

  i talked to my jw friend today.

  she and her husband were studied with by larry graham, in california, about 10 years ago, or more.

  i asked if she knew anything about prince being a jw, and she said that their son went to visit the grahams in minnesota a year ago, and met prince at their home, and that he had been studying then, for about a year.

  it seems that many who post on this board hold that the jw organization is a fraud, schemed mainly bu the g.b.

  members.

  but so far i have never read something as to the reasons behind the fraud.

  Update on elders visit.......

  well as a few here know, and for those who dont i've had an ongoing study with a few of the elders from my wifes congregation.. i was quite suprised when one of the elders, i think the less experienced one asked the following question of me.. what is your purpose for getting together for this study, as it seems obvious to me that your not willing to be open minded concerning what we have to share with you today?.

  i responded that his question really hurt my feelings, and that he shouldnt assume that i wasnt open to what they had to share, simply because i checked everything they shared with scripture.. i pointed out that the bereans did the same when paul preached.

  i went on to explain that his statement made me feel as if it wasnt about my salvation that they were concerned about, but getting me to become a member of the orginization.. needless to say the older of the two stepped in and tried to dance his way out of this uncomfortable situation, by putting me at ease and trying to reassure me that my salvation was the subject, and not membership in the society.. they seemed to become uncomfortable everytime i used the word society, this i couldnt understand.

  Here are a few more recent quotes you may be interested in.

  "identifying themselves with Jehovah's organization is essential to their salvation." Our Kingdom MInistry, 11/1990, p.1

  "...Jehovah provides regular spiritual food to strenghthen his people. All of us need such food, but where can we receive it apart from God's organization and its meetings? Nowhere." WT Aug. 15, 1993, pp. 9-10

  "...THE SOCIETY" is the visible representative of the Lord on earth..." Jehovah's Witnesses-Proclaimers of God's Kingdom, 1993, p.219

  Actually there are many quotes from the WT publications refering to themselves as (the) means to salvation. The WT when it comes right down to it has substituted itself as mediator instead of Jesus. This is where people like the JWs have been led off track.

  well friends, it's been nice, but just like the society this board was created for, it has deterioted, far worse than h20 or any of the other boards out there, a certain element here continue to bring down this forum to the lowest of lows, and i no longer have the patience to sift through the garbage and hate incited threads to find something worth while contributing too.

  so, with those words, i bid you all farewell, and pray one day you find yourselves!.

  I am sure that the Russell bashing also has something to do with your leaving. If you had not noticed, I did not bash Russell or speak harshly of him in any of the posts. I do think much of what he taught, especially the 1874-1914 predictions was non-sense as well as some other things he wrote.

  I am sure Sherlock, Regan, Alan and the others are looking forward to the completion of your history book.
