Yes! So strange. Just out of the blue we get a text message from someone who hasn't cared if we are alive or not for at least a few years. The text message just says - how is the family? We miss you at the meetings.
The time for caring has passed.
hmmmm...yesterday my long life friend called my landline after many years of silence.
now the shock has subsided, i am wondering if i can forgive and forget the fact she chose not to keep in touch throughout a time in my life which was very stressful.
sadly, i gathered that she is still involved with jehovah’s witness faith.

i hate to say this, but given my own experience as a jw for almost 3 decades, i am beginning to believe the average jw will continue to look to and be guided by the gb regardless of whether they are right or wrong.. despite all the scandals and negative media attention the watchtower organisation is receiving, life seems to go on as normal in jw land.
it's truly bizarre!!.
clearly, the gbs tactic of mostly hiding away from the media is clearly working for them.

I said that exact thing to one of my relatives just the other day. I said "the truth today does not resemble the truth you joined all those years ago. It is a totally different religion". The response was "yes it is so wonderful how much easier they have made things for us."
They do not care that it has changed and they continue to just follow blindly.
chapter 13. they get my heart, soul and my body.
saturday morning i was up at 6:30. it was fun trying to share small bathroom with seven other guys, all trying to get ready in 20 minutes.
i threw some cloths on and headed to first “morning worship.” gilbert said i could sit on his table since there was an extra space there.
We visited our local branch and had lunch with them. I felt like I was stealing when offered an apple. It was so weird. I could never ever live and work in there.
i always found it uncomfortable to informal witness to people but trying to convince a jw to jump ship brings much more pleasure..
I am not comfortable with the term apostate because I am not opposed to God. I question everything I have believed and been taught to believe and knowing the things I know now make me feel like the term better suits the organization.
I am fading and am not able to openly share my thoughts and feelings while being badgered by relatives to return to the meetings and being counseled on letting the actions of others stumble me.
I wish I could just blurt out what I really think but I do not want to hurt my family.
i have noticed, from reading posts on this and other related websites, what to me is an alarming practice taking place within the jw's.
and that is the baptism of kids.. on a recent discussion posted by pe ( video of the girl now forced to shun her sister) this child was baptised at 9 years old.
all of us who were baptised at a much older age know of the many questions one needs to give serious consideration and understanding of to become eligible for baptism, not to mention the two baptism questions asked before being dunked.. surely the organisation must know that children of such a young age are not mature enough to fully grasp the seriousness, demands and consequences of making such a decision.. another point; if jesus is the example to follow, then why did he only get baptised at age 30, and he was perfect!.
Fulano - you will find that young elders are not unusual now. They are encouraging it and wanting the older one to train them up.

I was 13. It was the 80s. Everyone I knew was getting baptised in their teens back then.
At the ARC Terry O'Brien was asked if JW baptise children and he said no. He said they only baptise those close to adulthood. Just a few weeks ago a relative was all smiles and "oh how wonderful" telling me about a young boy of 9 getting baptised with his mother.
I regret it so much that I made that choice without ever asking the important questions which never occurred to me to ask until now in my 40s.
hi i am just starting to rebuild my relationship with jehovah.
.
i would like to hear from people who may be or have been in similar situations and now want to dedicate their lives to him..
Research, research and research. Don't let a bit of love bombing at the KH cloud your mind.
a friend sent me this link to a very interesting video.
more adverse publicity for the wtbts.

Yes for sure.
WhenI was growing up there was a family in our congregation with a 4 year old. If he fell asleep at the meeting he was taken out, water splashed on his face and then was walked back into the Hall with water dripping off his face for all to see. The same family had the book study at their place and the chair the kid sat on had pins in it where his head would fall if he fell asleep. Poor kid. Broke my heart.
