How are they handling the memorial this year with the Coronavirus?

just was wondering what’s going on with the memorial this year cause my kids father wants to have them during that time.

My mothers congregation have been delivering bread and wine to everyone. As we have been inactive for over 4 years, they haven't bothered to inform us how to attend or bring us the emblems. My mum called and made me promise to do the memorial and she left her house to deliver her emblems to us and she will share with another single sister.

The crazy thing about is firstly unless you are of the anointed you don't need them and secondly a few years back two of my family were in hospital on memorial night and when they asked what arrangements would be made for them, the elders said that changes had been made and unless you are of the anointed, if you couldn't make it to the memorial it was just bad luck.

So this mad rush to make bread and wine deliveries in a time when we are supposed to be limiting our contact and staying at home seems ridiculous.

When my father was given a terminal diagnosis and needed surgery, being still very PIMI at the time, I contacted the brothers in the know who would be able to direct me to the "clinicians who respect our religious convictions". You know what they said "go to the surgeon you were referred to and let us know how it went, we are always looking for favorable surgeons". I asked more than one person too. We ended up finding a lovely surgeon on our own. When the inevitable happened and my father was in his last days in hospital one of these very loving men said "I didn't realize your dad was so sick". Makes me so angry just thinking about it now.

Field service shit show

i just got back from field service.

i haven’t been out in a few months so now we don’t keep any written records and we don’t know which houses are do not calls.

i also noticed i was the only one with a book bag.

Ever apostate from what I have gathered from reading Crisis of conscience I believe they needed to have the hours of service recorded in order to have their charity status so they could show just how much "charity" was being done and if I remember correctly the field service records were also used to get brothers out of having to go into the services during the war??

Being as they do not actually do any charity of any sort - no nursing homes, no schools, no soup kitchens - what other evidence would they have to show they are a "charitable" organisation?

If you're "anointed" don't seek out other "anointed" so says the Watchtower January 2020

when i was affiliated with the witnesses, there were barely 6,000 who profess to be of the anointed remnant.

i recently read somewhere that today there are over 20,000 who profess to be anointed.

that figure may be more when you consider those who meet and partake privately for fear of the stigma of claiming to be anointed.

Exactly! This is why they keep the sheeple busy with meeting attendance and service. Too busy for them to sit down and research and ponder on exactly this and come to the realization that they have been duped.

Ha! Normal family relations do not even continue if you are not disfellowshipped but you just no longer attend the weekly meetings and field service.

Not invited to congregation “get togethers”. They finally said it

we don’t get many invitations to congregational social gatherings.

we don’t attend midweek meetings and miss about 1/3 of sunday meetings.

we go in service at least once a month.

One Sunday we attended a neighboring congregation meeting. After the meeting I was talking to a brother and our conversation was interrupted by another brother, also known to me, with a notebook and pen. He proceeded to invite the brother to a congregation BBQ. I said that by the looks of his list he should just go on the platform and invite the whole congregation to which he responded with "not everyone can be invited. Only those who regularly attend meetings and field service can be invited. If you will not associate with the congregation in spiritual activities then you are not entitled to socialize at other times."

So much for building up the weak and downtrodden. Meanwhile the brother who was "worthy" of invitation was disfellowshiped not long thereafter for having an affair with a married pioneer sister and the invitee had to move congregations due to scaming money off people in the congregation.

so this weekend my girlfriend and i will move into our own place together.

it turns out that “a cord of three strands is stronger” is bullshit and two people in a relationship are perfectly capable of being happy without outside influence.

what a journey i’ve had since leaving 3 and a half years ago!

Is it me or does Stephen Lett come across......

i get the feelings that stephen lett tries to come across as mr. rogers but there are times it oozes through that he is a lot more dominant and controlling then he lets on.

I believe when he gives his talks he is acting.

People like my mother lap it up and think he is such a sweet and humble man.

We had a CO when I was growing up who was also "entertaining" when he gave talks but he too was putting on an act. Very different to talk to in person one on one.

elders wont pray for someone?

a former member said that elders told a relative of his after she was dfed that they would not be praying for her.

is that some kind of policy, or were they just doing their own thing in that instance?

I have heard this before too. Something about df ones having turned their backs on Jehovah and no longer being included in spiritual things and are therefore not under gods protection and the brotherhood do not pray for them.
