Very sorry to hear you are struggling with grief. My father has been gone over 10 years now. I sought grief counseling at the time. I recommend talking it through with a professional and as others have said, we are here to listen too.

Spiral that is exactly right.
Whenever I bring things to my mother's attention her response is "I do not care. I want to be there to see my husband again and my parents and that is all that matters."
It is sad. I keep thinking to myself that one day I will be by her side during her last days on Earth and only then will she realise that it was all BS.

Mr Turnbull told reporters that they will first need to read the lengthy document of recommendations and then they will be able to make decisions on which ones the government will implement.
At this stage it's just a list of suggestions that the victims would like to see enforced completely.
JWs already said the two witness rule will not be changed as it is in the bible and if they agree not to shun people they will lose control of "the flock" and I cannot see them ever doing that.
They will be in direct opposition to the government and call it religious persecution and a sign that the end is near.
The blind followers will still follow. Satan's system is in control and all that.
It will be interesting.
What the ARC has done is expose the JWs and hopefully curtail new recruits.

Do they officially give marking talks without telling the one marked?
by Wakanda inmy pimi (physically in, mentally in) friend believes she was marked without them telling her.
i believe her, and she has been making work for the elders.
she is a pain in their arse, and they are a pain in hers, which is great.

It has been all over the news here in Australia so those who do not know about it are remaining ignorant on purpose.
The GB has already said they will not change the two witness rule and I cannot see them changing their disfellowshiping policy.

As a person who is fading I didn't think it wise to enter into a debate with them.
Maybe one day in the future I will be in a place where I will have no need for restraint.

Just this week I had the JWs knock on my door. Sisters from my old congregation. We exchanged the usual polite conversation. Some more of the group came up the driveway. Some would not set foot on my property but waved from the sidewalk and still others looked at me and turned away.
During our chat one of the sisters pipes up and says "I can't believe we are still here. We were not meant to go to high school, get married or have children this side of Armageddon.". This sister is now a grandmother.
I bit my tongue and said nothing other than to nod in agreement. I felt bad for her. Why would this evidence alone not wake them up?

Good Works by "worldly people".
by Lost in the fog ini have friends who are called "worldly people" by jws.
these people are actively involved in feeding the homeless over christmas.
managing thrift shops so they can send financial aid overseas to poorer children.

It always bothered me that we were supposed to view our witnessing as charitable work.
Just recently the watchtower encouraged JWs not to give monetary or material aid to refugees but that we help them spiritually. BUT Jehovah needs your money. Please give generously.
Being charitable and actually helping and caring for the less fortunate is something foreign to them.
When we found ourselves struggling, our worldly friends checked in on us and brought us supplies and genuinely cared. NOT the "brothers and sisters" who supposedly love us unconditionally.

Do you or did you experience too much intrusion into your personal life by the elders in your congregation?
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question because i have personally experienced first hand the control and intrusion into my personal life by the elders at our hall; and for virtually trivial things or non issues!
what's more, i regularly hear of individuals moving to other halls because they were stumbled by the thought police....er, i mean these elders.. have you had any such experience?
have your elders been a bit ott over trivialities?.

They only get as much power as the individual gives them.
Growing up in the cult my mother was friends with elders and COs and DOs and their wives.
Our family business was discussed with these ones and their opinions sought on many issues that were really none of their business. For this reason we as youths were constantly spoken to by the elders.
To mum's shock sometimes the elders would not agree with her point of view in dealing with us but when it came to supporting us in a time of distress one of these trusted "friends" had our family marked in order to show us and the congregation that we were "faulty".
They had this power over us because they were too involved in our business. JWs are too quick to trust ones just because they come to the kingdom Hall and that is why it is a Haven for paedophiles.

How and Why the ARC into Child Sexual Abuse In Institutions Came About.
by smiddy3 ina program is to be aired on abc tv tonight called : "undeniable :the advocates and agitators who fought for justice" to be shown at 9:30 pm aust.eastern daylight saving time in victoria.. while it doesn`t show anything from what i can gather, about jw`s ,it mainly concentrates on the catholic and anglican churches and if you want to make a comparison the abuse in the jw`s pales by comparison as an institution .. having said that their were some/one champions of jw child sex abused that made sure by their arguments that the jehovah witness religion should not be excluded from this royal commission as they wern`t initially included in this enquiry.. the full/final report of this arc is to be handed down later this week..
