How do you deal with the emotions of waking up? ---my ramble -----

good morning, .

i am just wondering how you have constructively worked through the emotions of waking up?

i am trying hard to be positive, and i know life is a gift.

We were just talking about this very thing this morning. About how we cannot say and be exactly how we want because of our entire families being lost in the FOG. I frustrates me how they still want to control us and our children and I wonder how they would have felt if their own families did the same to them when they decided to join this crazy cult. We have decided to ask them that very question next time they start with the "go back to meetings" lecture.

When I first came to realise that my life had revolved around one big lie I was angry, frustrated and a bit lost - my user name says it all.

I would come onto the forum every day sometimes more than once. Now I only log on every couple of days. The BORG and their lies no longer consume my every waking moment.

I am so glad the actual truth became clear to me before I had my children believing it and knowing that they will be able to live their lives without the fear, obligation and guilt gives me great comfort.

I have also been able to make friends outside the religion who have been great support to me and a place where I can openly talk about the mind control religion I was brought up in.

It is very hard to cope with the constant battle of the mind when you have spent the day with a fanatical PIMI family member and then I remind myself that they too are victims.

Baptised 52 years today!

january 29th - my baptism date.

can you remember how you felt at your baptism?.

i got baptised because my dad kept frightening me.

I was 13. Got dunked with my brother. The only excitement of the day was the new bathing suit for the occasion, the new dress and my parents gave me a pet Budgie as a gift on the day.

The brothers filmed the baptism because we were taken by bus off site so they replayed the baptism on screens during the lunch break.

Family reunion

my wife and i just enjoyed a family reunion with both my sons ,one wife and one grandchild 10 years old ,where they stayed at our house for a week .. the best week we have had for many a year .

the couple live only 2 hours away by car and the other son and his child live 2 states away 2 hours by plane.. and thankfully they are no longer associated with the borg that i now regretfully brought them up in , so the borg will never get their children.. it was a happyfying time .

These things happen because cult members trust other cult members, Jehovah draws ones to the "truth" so you can trust them right? It is also the reason that paedophiles are trusted by other cult members.

Flawed Website

when i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.

then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.

he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.

So if the "secret dating" post is the one you are referring to, I am pretty sure the reaction you would get on a JW site would be way more embarrassing than any comments on here.

Secret dating is a definite no no in JW land and if you are dating a "worldly" person as you say then you are not a JW and you have found the correct forum for you.

The Reasons for Cart Witnessing

whatever we think of it, you have to admit that it's quite "genius".. the door to door ministry as done in western developed countries where the jw quirky religion has probably reached their saturation level was a complete and utter waste of time in terms of the effort expended to recruit people.. at the same time, it was rarely something that anyone enjoyed which led to people being labelled as inactive, being pressured to doing more and maybe ultimately deciding jwism wasn't for them and leaving.. there was also the issue that many jws are actually pretty bad at knowing and articulating their beliefs so were pretty incapable of getting any meaningful message across.. they solved all this with the cart witnessing.

the real point isn't to recruit, it's to make life easier for jws.

now they can stand and chat with their friend, have a coffee, not talk to anyone or make eye contact and still act as a walking billboard for jw.org.

Amelia Ashton I agree 100%.

If the end is nigh why are they not printing magazines with the warning on the front for their carts? Why are the magazines on the carts still about fluffy subjects such as Can you trust the news media or how to make your family life happy.

Cart preaching question

i just wonder how the elders see the cart witnessing they always want to show co when he comes to visit how congregation covers the territory.

but there must be a great problem with that now as pioneers prefer sitting drinking coffee beside a cart.
