i'm reading a brief book -- a critical analysis -- of muhammad and islam.

the following sounded familiar:.

as the cult steadily grew, muhammad strictly forbade followers to keep contact with family members in mecca or even befriend unbelievers.

He somehow got deleted or stepped down—he is almost like inactive one. His religious view itself was changed over the period. Sometime back he told me: “Working with a religion is like working in the office world. If someone wants to be better, that one needs to take classes, certifications, read books, gather concepts, ideas to talk the talk. It is all about gathering information. That does not work in ‘spirituality.’ Spirituality is being in harmony with the nature, living Life with joy. Look at the particles—they are all dancing; and everything is made with particle, hence basis of everything is joy. Religion has no role to play other than making money.”

I could see CO feeling nervous because he was not trained to answer such questions. He was like a parrot byhearting what is in the WT publications. Whatever he tried to convey was vehemently counteracted to his shame. Then CO tried to change the subject saying ‘we have to see the overall guidance God provides, not in every minute details which are left to the individuals concerned.’ What you need to realize is that God has an organization on earth to give answers to very important questions pertaining to major subject such as “Why do we experience suffering if God exist? ….

House-holder intervened and said: “That’s not a major subject. Suffering occurs when people act thoughtlessly which proves things happen according to some law (perceptible or imperceptible), and existence of law means existence of law-giver. Suffering would help people to act thoughtfully in the future. Good and evil are just labels. Your own darkness is your capacity for light. Nothing is bad for those who know how to make use of every situation. Because you operate from your mechanical center you think pain is something that causes suffering. But people who operate from their dynamic center know that pain-mechanism in their body serves a useful purpose alerting us to avoid further harm. What a disaster it would be if we do not feel pain—we will not pull away our hand or any part of body when it gets burned or injured. Similarly, each type of suffering is a warning mechanism alerting us to avoid further harm or to avoid similar harm in the future.

Big picture shows all that is felt or transpires is neutral in nature and meant to balance the cosmic existence. Water, for example, is key for sustenance of life. Our body is almost 60% water/blood in a cycle of circulation. Fresh air is inhaled and stale air exhaled—you cannot say the former is good and the latter is bad. Medically, smooth functioning of the digestive system is an endorsement of wellness. See what happens when you feed your stomach with no discipline—it will alert you by giving you various symptoms to revert to an ordered life-style. Similarly, extreme weather conditions, floods or earthquakes, etc, causing torment, are in fact mind-boggling acts of ecological, geological and biological equilibrium. There is a definite purpose to all activities which are not too obvious to our present knowledge. The so-called good or bad is, thus, interwoven in myriad ways incomprehensible for many. Therefore, be it pleasure or pain all events are meant for sustenance of the infinite ladder of life. Whether individuals understand or not, underlying realities matter little in the super-scale of grand hierarchy.

Are there any doctrines which all Christian religions follow.

i cannot think of a single doctrine that is so clearly laid out in the bible that every christian sect teaches the same point.

are there any doctrine where there is total consensus amongst all christian religions, including jehovah's witnesses?.

Unanimity is in following the opposite of what Jesus said. For example,

1) Jesus said: “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (Mathew 7:5). Yet all of the Christian sects understand this to be this way: ‘You the righteous ones, first increase the size of the plank that is in your own eye, and then you will see clearly the speck from your brother’s eye.’

2) Through the 3 ½ year direct training from Jesus, his disciples understood Jesus to be “the servant of God” (Acts 3:13) yet Christianity sees him as God himself with the exception of JWs who describe him as ‘a god.’

JWs obsession with negative points of others have more to do with Theory of Evolution (rather than with their Bible). From the earliest days, man's existence depended on his ability to detect and keep himself safe from unpleasant events and danger. Therefore, our brain evolved such that it could pay better and more attention to all unpleasant stimuli. This tendency then seems to have generalized to all stimuli that evoke negative feelings. So, whenever there is anything negative in others life they focus on it with all their attention and energy and in the process develop an obsession towards it.

An Obvious Omission in the J.W.'s Good News!

"we are preaching about the good news of the kingdom.

why do we preach about only one hope - living on earth?

The very first words Jesus used was about Heavenly Hope:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"

followed by earthly hope

"Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth." (Mathew 5:3, 5)
