So glad your wife came out with you. I came out with a friend who had the same issues I had...it was kinda funny how we managed our 'waking up.' I'll share it sometime. I'm new here...looking around...trying to encourage and celebrate with some. Not sure, I think its been about 18 to 20 years out for me, but it took about 10 years or more to really get my mind out. My heart was broken by emotional abuse of the elders in several congregations. Some day I would like to talk to an elder and find out why it all turned out that way....anyway. It's great that you and your wife are out and FREE now. It's wonderful that you celebrate your FREEDOM DATE every year too.

13 year anniversary
by gerry intoday marks 13 years since my wife and i have stepped inside a kingdom hall.
after 29 years full on being a jw and a number of years serving as an elder then as the presiding overseer we pulled the plug.
yes 13 years ago coming home from the first day of a circuit assembly i said to my wife “that’s it i am not going back”.

someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.
i just feel sad for my daughter.

Depending on the relationship...would think about pressing charges of invasion of privacy. At least put a good scare in to her so she doesn't do this to anyone else and makes others think twice before becoming Jdub Spies. The power the WTS has is very creepy....scary even. Where were all these spies when all those "faithful" (being sarcastic of course) were abusing all those innocent children? I wish you well. Thankful that you are no longer being fooled....that was my one prayer over and over again when I started to wake up...."God don't let me be fooled." It's amazing. The only prayers that were answered were the ones that helped me get OUT....
