Okay for the electricity we turn into such lovely things as the little red light on my TV, your post and to make cars go but solar or hydrogen fusion planes? Hydrogen fusion plastics? Petrochemical is big in size and bucks. Look at some of the 6000 products it goes into. We all have the recipe for hydrogen so where's the export market?

Don't worry about the race issue, worry about the class issue. This is no where near the death blow, just another nail. Capitalism thrives on inequality and generates inequality. No empire has or will last forever, they all over reach and the elite become decadent.
God blessed America with lovely money making oil. When god stops blessing America in 53 years time will she go out with a whimper or a bang? She has some big boom boom toys!
Best duck and cover just to be on the safe side.

Sin and death - how does it make sense to ANY believer of ANY religion?
by BourneIdentity insince adam and eve’s fall, we are all sinners.
it’s what we do, there is no way to change it, sinning is a daily part of life.
there are major sins, but most of us commit minor ones everyday in words, thoughts or deeds.

What you have there mate is a fundamental floor in your monotheism. This particular model has had so many different dogmas stuck in it as it's been passed from culture to culture it's lost all meaning. If you really want to ask the questions of all religions the ask a polytheist or better yet just enjoy the story for what it is.

PIMI wife is not like normal women or mothers who have that natural affect.
by goingthruthemotions inis it me who thinks this.......jw pimi or pomi women lack natural affection toward there children, family and human's.. it must be the indoctrination that strips these emotions.
i see it in my wife all the time, when she talks with non jw people she is like "meh" i got to talk with you.. when she talks with jw people, she has a cult emotion like "yes my people" .
she is screwed in the head, the more that time goes by i want to leave her and get a divorce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's your basic othering. No brainwashing needed there, just a large enough group of fellow like minded right thinking people. Some can not think beyond the safe and simple binary view of them and us. Worldly is other, worldly is bad, worldly is common, therefore to be other than worldly is to be good and special.
Are people made that way? If their views are not challenged do they naturally seek a lifestyle that suits that way of thinking? I think we are the owners of our own emotional development and if we do not distance ourselves from unbenificial influences on us or our loved ones then that itself shows a deflected character.

People in England were easiy convinced to believe....

Safe distance, hand washing and no face touching, basic OCD behaviour If we could all be trusted with these three simple things we would have a controllable R number. We can't though. On the street, at work and in the shops people are making a pathetic protest against no one by showing how not bothered they are, flick those guys.

Could Boris "save the NHS & lives" by BANNING Covid 19?
by BoogerMan inobviously not, but he could do so by banning an even greater killer - tobacco.
smoking has been identified as the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in all 4 nations of the u.k. .
annually, in scotland approximately 10,000 die, in wales, 5000, and in n.i.

Having just given up tobacco 3 months ago after 35 years of its misuse I am an ardent non smoker now and heartily agree with the proposition. Providing that he makes it legal to smoke a little something something in its place.
Thing is my former fag toking pie-curious lifestyle was not contagious and did not put an unexpected burden on the NHS. Unexpected no but it was unnecessary. The current highlighting in the UK of health and the NHS has spured me on as I think it has done to many. The morning after that nice Mr Johnson (he's from a bastard line of the Hannovarians you know, born to lead) made his polite request that we stay at home while the government pay 80% wages and salaries to a quarter of the workforce, I was on the way to work. As I drove past a llaying field a fellow salad dodger was out doing his Boris jog. I hope he's kept it up, it gave me a smile and a memory.

At some point more people will die because of continued lockdowns
Yes there will be deaths among the poor, the unfortunate, the stupid and the unfortunately stupid and poor but they were playing with a short deck anyway in a very shitty world. Maybe we should really try to do something about that when we have a chance to again?
Please remember that while putting the UK under this house with netflix arrest the government have also stepped in to pay 80% of wages for a quarter of the nations workforce. Lots of people will be looking for new jobs because lots of companies will be shutting down, like Yorkshire the 80's but with fewer donkey jackets. The benefit system is there to keep us afloat, it did for me when I needed it back then and will gladly pay my dues forward the next man. I am glad that make me a socialist because I believe in society. I'm off to listen to me Billy Bragg now.

Another heart-worming story
by StephaneLaliberte intoday, i got an email from an old friend with a story told by brother andre ramseyer who attended training at patterson in england.
a service dog regularly attended the meetings with his owner.
when the owner passed away, the dog was given to another blind man.

"is a dog able to tell apart the days of the week?"
I use to get on a train each morning and often shared a carriage with a blind passenger who had a guide dog. Every morning before we pulled into the station we both alighted onto, the dog would nudge his friend and they would get to the door just as the train was pulling in and get ahead of the crowd. I always though that the dog recognised the lamp posts and overhead wires at a certain point but one day when it was foggy the dog still nudged his friend and they got to the door just before it pulled in.
It has been suggested and studies have been done on the link between a dogs sense of smell and it's perception of time. So to a dog every day and every hour is distinguishable by smell. Research it, it is fascinating.

I listened to what Lord Sumption had to say and think that the interviewer had a better grasp of the situation. The former chief justice may of met a more inspirational sample than I have but I remember in late March when people were still going to beaches and to Snowdonia. Then the night before the shutdown when people still went out to the pubs? Even the man who did all the maths chose a bit of slap and tickle over personal responsibility.
Sweden has 24 people per km^2 and the UK has 259 per km^2.
Sweden has 2763 covidvirus cases per million and the UK has 3336.
There is also anecdotal evidence that the Swedish have a better base hygiene level.
This is the first pandemic we have had that we can properly monitor. Afterwards we will have a better understanding of which strategy it is best to apply to what situation. Saying that a government is unprepared for this unforseen disaster opens up the question how much time and money should of been spent preparing and what other unforseen disasters should get the same treatment?
It's nice to hear the establishment promoting self governance though, maybe we can apply our common sence to how much tax we pay?
