  Pseudo history in Watchtower today 😂

  gorby went to the kh for family reasons today.. and landed right away middle in a pseudo history watchtower article.

  just that aspect of the jw belief he is so sensative about.. so 1918 and 1919 are changed with one mark of a pencil.

  the argument of change was in the past the argument of the doctrine.

  I always wondered how imprisonment of eight in an Atlanta penitentiary could be equated to captivity of a whole nation in babylon. Now they admit par 6. " a reexamination of the subject was necessary. --

  7: "-- the tribulation they experienced was mainly caused by the secular authorities, not by Babylon the Great.--" ( caused, not only executed. bolds mine.) because wt always taught that BtG egged on The Secular Authorities Pharisees & Pilate style.

  These deep subjects were the staples of the Gilead courses, the disfellowshippings of the ones that could not stomach the nonsense, and now it is branded to be a mistake, but it still remains the same balderdash, only mixed differently, leading to such gems as the overlapping anointed generation that ends before the end.

  PS: calling the captivity "tribulation" will set jws thinking in confused ways too. "great"!

  Question on the sun created in the fourth day

  in the first day elohim created light, and it was day and night in the first day.

  then in the fourth day he created the sun, the moon and the stars.

  of course, it did not actually happen, but what did the writer have in mind?.

  WT writers mentioned that the creation accounts were written as an observer would see them from an earthly perspective, and at the same time,-- to be inspired.

  If the bible is inspired, it would not contain the scientific errors that it does. The Earth was not created in the beginning. The oldest we can see is light, photons, but from a time when the universe was already 300 000 years old, when that became clear, and photons are the purest form of energy we can think of. The rotation of the Earth (night&day) came ~ 10 billion years later. trying to reconcile the sci fi writing of the early humans with scientific reality serves what?

  agree with tor's heartfelt sentiment: The wt god vastly underrepresents the grandeur of a possible creator.

  The stalking, targeting of married sisters in odd situations, is a ongoing issues in congregations. The elders, that are supposedly there to protect the flock from predatory practises, fail, occupied that they are, with wt procedures.

  Eli's sons are alive and well in the congregations.

  PS: in my younger years, the 1940, I had a "friend " in the "world" who specialized in preying on married woman, (truly stunned pineapples) , why?. because they offered gratification without liability.

  In the case of the disfellowshipped brother, this stalking (a criminal offense bsw) could be a favoured tactic, condoned or approved by the elders, to further humiliate the disfellowshipped person, .--- Clean the "clean organisation" by dirty tactics, dishonoring the family.

  he started this totally on his own and just telling me about it.

  it's quite amusing what he comes up with.. point 1: why the s & m stuff with foreskins?

  may be one of the oldtimers, contemporaries of Abraham, had a foreskin restriction (imperfection taking it's toll) that kept him from full expansion, and since size matters, he was freed, even at his wife's behest for cleanliness' sakes, and the rest is history.

  and it is a transhumanist argument and nothing new, i do realise that before anyone points it out.

  but it struck me afresh today that the resurrection must happen.. firstly, to state the obvious, a rational materialist conception of reality seems to exclude resurrection.

  you simply need to wait longer until it becomes feasible.

  The longer you wait, the more distant into the past, the more diluted any information gets. unless the resurrection mechanism is somehow already build into the universe from the beginning, in any case never a jw's option is very appealing.

  creating the universe in the first place would be a simple, elegant process compared to setting up the machinery to isolate and retrieve the information needed and then focus it into the future to recreate, to resurrect chosen individuals.

  It would have to be a very altruistic society to forgo the pleasures of their own present, forward looking lives, to present some forgotten ancestor with a return to a second presence.

  Think of the efforts at CERN to recreate creation on a one-off subatomic level, --just one particle, or

  the the work on abiogenesis --just one restart of microscopic size.

  Unless consciousness, information can break free from the physical, a hard sell.

  bohm. yes, what happens at the planck scale, and in the quantum world is uncontrollable, but perhaps we could just take an individual's data, at a given time and redo it, no matter what convoluted random processes let to that stage in the first place. and even then--

  i note the recent post that quoted 1 timothy 2:11-12 and colossians 1:23 which place women at a level that is lower to men.

  the poster accused paul of this mysoginy, but that is not correct.. 1 timothy, 2 timothy, titus, colossians, ephesians and hebrews were written after paul's death.. paul was not a mysoginist; he made full use of women in leadership roles.

  he wrote that in god's sight there is neither male nor female, for all are one in god's sight.. doug.

Bearing children is such a tremendous, fulfilling task, that it should satisfy any aspirations. imho, bsw,

  I do not feel that women are not equal to men, to the contrary, they have the superior position in life, more important to our arrival, survival, the beauty charm and warmth. why any lady would feel like a failed man, is not understandable to me.

  You are responsible for our arrival. why do you need to be our rival?
