today i was at a laundry mat and saw several jw mags and tracts.
i threw them all away in the trash can!.
i also tell everyone i have an opportunity about being in a cult, the jw's and have had many interesting conversations.
I certainly do.
In the past I have prepared 'tracts' shown them to friends and aquaintences who showed an interest in the WTBTS.
Shown them the things they will not be told until they are deaper in, I know for a fact that two of the people I have spoken to have cancelled their 'Bible Studies' and several have dropped their interest in the society.
I find this method easier than trying to 'witness the witnesses out'.

The bible mentions nothing about animals not having choice, only man was forbidden to eat from the tree of knowledge of choice.
Animals DO have a choice, for example, two animals meeting for the first time have the choice of the three F's, Fight, Flee or F.......well, you can guess that one
One of them, Fight is 'evil', so animals, in a sense, have the knowledge of good and evil.
Funny how animals rate higher than man.

there are two scenerios that I think are possible:
1) That they had never tried the tree of life. (They ate from the tree of knowledge first, doh!)
2) That they ate regularily from the tree of life, and it helped sustain their life. so eating from it on a continuous basis is what helped them live forever or indefinitely. Thereby god prevented them from taking of it, either for the first time, or ever again.
That is how I see it.
If scenario 1, then man was not intended to live forever, if 2, then man was held prisoner in the garden, needing to eat from the tree on a regular basis to sustain life, so it seems to me that the knowledge of choice was the 'payoff' for sustaining life.
It seems strange that any god would create a being that has no knowledge of choice, might as well build a robot.

It is interesting that. although verse 2:16 says From any tree of the garden you may eat freely, verse 3:22 makes it clear that man had not already done so and now in order that he may not put his hand out and actually take [fruit] also from the tree of life and eat.
Live forever in return for not having the knowledge of choice?
live to time indefinite is from the NWT, RSV says live forever, interesting that the WT changed that.

So man was intended to live forever, as long as he kept eating the fruit, but not intended to have the knowledge of the choice between good and evil?

Notice that it says "Now man has become like one of us . . ."
Certainly it does..............in now having the knowledge of good and evil.
But man was forbidden to take[fruit] from the tree of life before being ejected.
If man had been intended to live forever, he would not have been forbidden the fruit.

since jw's normally do not pursue entertainment careers, those who have talent sometimes feel a need to share their skills with fellow believers.

i once brought up the fact to my jw that jw's were not allowed to get together informally to do any kind of 'bible' studies without the approval of the elders, gb, etc.. he said that was totally ridiculous and false, more apostate lies.
this was long ago now and i'm not sure he even remembers saying it.
Seems to me they are prepping the faithful for the cry 'grab your torch and pitchfork', and trying to frighten some of the doubters back into line.
