I never for a moment thought you did.
As a never was JW I can only try to transpose certain things I have had experience with and try to use them as a benchmark for understanding.
For example,
When I was 11 yrs old, I was in court with a cousin of mine, he had 20 cases of burglary, stealing from cars and shoplifting, against him, I had one case of receiving a stolen chocolate bar from him.
I was fined, he was sent to correction school.
However his mother blamed me and convinced 75% of my very large family that I had ?led him astray? they wanted nothing to do with me from that point on (still don?t).
So I use that experience to try and understand shunning.
Not perfect but it?s the nearest I can get.

Could it be that some of the 'dissapearing ones' attended a fest, found they could interact socially with people and thought something like "hey, I CAN get along with people away from the JW's, so I dont need anything JW, pro or ex, in my life now"?

they're saying your world is illusion.
I believe this is caused by where one focus's.
Let me try and explain and use Craig as an example.
Craig is a big guy and generally slow moving, so to focus on that I could think he is 'slow'
However, to talk with him shows he is quick and deep thinking, which offers up two new possibilities, he is quick, or he is deep.
So where I focus will determine my perception of Craig, but none of the points of focus will actually BE Craig, he is a combination of things that can only be seen with a broader view, so, to me, this proves that a narrow focus will give a false perception.
Open this up into a view of life, death or anything else and it makes the 'real' easier to see, at least, it does to me.

as i head off to baghdad for the final weeks of my stay in iraq, i wanted to say thanks to all of you who did not believe the media.
As 75% of what we in the UK pay for fuel is Tax, who should we really blame for the high prices?

I will remember that the next time I have a bad foot, I should be unhappy that my body is not totally perfect and kill myself. After all, if something is not TOTALLY perfect, is is no good at all, right?

Point a camera at the bottom right hand corner of my garden and it will show a dump, broaden the view to the whole garden and it will show that 98% of it is well maintained and neat.
I guess it all depends on where you WANT to point the camera hm?
Nothing is ever perfect, some focus on the good, some on the bad, depends on the mindset of the person, I guess it will all be perfect in the new system.
