I like to argue that, as the society has 'proved' that taking blood by any means is 'eating blood', then it is ok to smoke, taking the tobacco plant by another means, ie eating it. And God gave man all the plants and animals for his use.

Service meeting part about My Space
by seek2find inthis week an article about the internet will be discussed on the service meeting.
at one meeting it was announced that the elders would be contacting parents about kids who have my space accounts.
anbody else hear it at their meeting?

Win Win situation for the WT really. On the one hand they can point to the talk and say "see! we warn kids about the dangers of the internet, passing personal information etc". On the other, they get to frighten members off from getting the truth about the WT.

the way it is worded gives the image that they are "christ centred".

Leaving the "Way International" - WOW this sounds familiar....
by AK - Jeff ini have been corresponding with a group calling itself 'biblical unitarians', also 'spirit and truth fellowship'.
the doctrine is very similar on many levels with the jw doctrine, which is, at the same time, familiar and comfortable, and scary too.
in an effort to discover the 'roots' of this group i emailed the leadership.

by AK - Jeff ini believe that i am experiencing a profound change in my personality, and those changes are at a stage where i have honestly contemplated this recently.
honestly.. i don't think i could ever do it - anyone who has followed me on the boards here know that i am neither suicidal nor an apologist for that lot.
yet, having been off work for a few weeks now with surgical recovery, i have had time to make assessment of my future.

Jeff, Remember the classic JW recruitment is to catch people at a 'down' point in their lives and offer them something they think they need. Friends, I was never a JW or a member of any other religious group, I am 53 years old and my 'true friends who will always be there for me' I can count on two hands (and I don't need all the fingers). Its not just a JW thing. Quality not quantity is the key.
