I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Wen I was 8 my mother pressured me to get baptized. Yes, 8!!!! Anyways as I was too young to know what I was doing I failed one question on my baptism questions. The one on what it means to be dedicated. I literally didn't know what it meant. I just sat there perplexed and couldn't think of a legit way to explain it so the elders told my parents I needed to wait. I did wait until I was 9 and my mother made sure I knew all the answers. Please do poorly on the questions, DO NOT GET BAPTIZED! -

I am still considered a jw but I hardly go to meetings in the past few months and I am not raising my kids as jws anymore. I let my kids celebrate holidays at school since november, I celebrated xmas and v day and birthdays and I am sexually active. No drugs. I curse. That's not so bad right? I feel great with my life. I am truly happy. -

A fresh start
by FormerlySandL inafter the worst introduction i could ever make on the forum i would like to reintroduce myself and make a fresh start on the forum and hopefully over time i will be able to redeem myself.
i have changed my user name which was over dramatic and ridiculous in the cold light of day but for transparency and to show i am not trying to hide anything i have adapted the original name and it now has a more positive feel.
after reading a lot of posts on this forum i am feeling more optimistic about my future.

Welcome!! I missed all the drama since I don't log on as often as I would like to. Isnt it amazing how as long as u conform to jws standards and opinions u are accepted. I hope u didn't marry. I was married to a brother with mental illness for 12 years. I wanted to break off the engagement but was told I couldn't. This religion sickens me and I'm so thankful to spare my children. Make a new circle of friends. Could u join a gym or athletic club. I have made the best friends ever at my local gym. Or coworkers? U def need a support system and of course u have members in this site. This site helped me keep sane wen I first discovered ttat. U will be fine. U have the best years of ur life ahead of u bc u have allowed urself to stop being brainwashed. -

ATT: WARNING
by EJ257 inplease be aware of everything that is happening around the world at this moment in time.
this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.
at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

Can u I ask u a question? And please be honest....do u think part of the draw is the challenge? The fact that she's not making it easy for u. I am usually drawn to a guy that's a bit withdrawn and makes me work. I may not have acknowledge that before and I'm not proud to admit it. As a woman who has been an active witness, I will say stay far far away and find yourself someone who u are just as much drawn to I'd not more who is still a challenge for u to acquire. Do not date or fall in love with a jw. -

I have been wondering the same thing as I am trying to figure out my belief system. My problem is that now I doubt the Bible. Different cultures have different sacred books so which one had the truth. Maybe they are all just helpful guides that man has twisted and even sacrificed and killed for. Not to mention they were written in such different times by people who believed it was okay to have more than one wife and that it was okay to have slaves and stoned people to death.
So for now I only take the good out of it like imitating good qualities to be a good person and am finally living my life how I want to live it without worrying about all the pressure of living up to other people's norms. We will all die one day and I think if I open my eyes again I will be thankful. I Def do not believe in hell! That's about all I can say.
