hi , this is my first post .. i left jws 30 years ago as 18 year old unbaptised youth and after the initial fallout from leaving pretty much put the whole thing in a box and buried it .. however , i am now starting to realise how much the doomsday messages and the ‘them and us’ doctrines that’s fed to you from birth has remained in my core beliefs.. how have others managed to reprogram themselves ?.

I don't think you ever get "over" it but you can get past it. Its like a woman being raped, she never will get over it or forget it but can get past it and live their life. Put the energy into telling anyone you think would be interested in how damaging the cult is.

i personally hate it!

i've tried for years to find a way to enjoy it, but i do not.

i tried.. at the end of the day i feel its just people getting there ego stroked and miss-information.

I think its a hit and miss thing. So many idiots will post what their poop they just took was like or the dinner plate they are about to eat. Some will keep in touch with family and friends, and others will use it for an audience of people they don't even know to try to be a so called internet influence. Personally I think its a lot more BS then good.

useful information for students of history - why are bat viruses so deadly.. a bat virus may be responsible for the highly infectious coronavirus respiratory illness in wuhan china.. long ago, when i was growing up in a tiny fishing village on the far south coast of new south wales, some people still ate flying foxes, which were a type of bat.

they were kept in cages "to fatten them up," then killed and cooked.

i do not recall any specific sicknesses that may have swept that village.. other wild creatures were also eaten.

I don't think its bat viruses but viruses that can transfer from animal to human. Not many do but some birds, bats and pigs will transfer.

within the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.

the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.

i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.

I don't think many but the most eternal optimistic think it will change he minds of any JWs. IMO its for those who are on the edges and or thinking of joining the cult. If we can cut off their supply lines I.E. new converts it will shorten the war.

it has just been added the netflix catalogue here in australia and i am looking forward to finally watching it.. please, if you've seen it, no spoilers!.
