"Get Over It!"
by The Bethelite inthis is what my children tell me... get over the whole jehovah's witness thing!
yes, they tell me they have gotten over the whole thing and they tell me that and i need to also.
my exgirl friend who was raised as a jw also has said the same thing.. my children say they got over it, however they are quick to point out how messed up their lives are now because of no college education and other missed opportunities.

Do You Think “Higher Education “Is All That??
by minimus inas jehovah’s witnesses, we were regularly told how awful a college education is.
i’m no longer associated with the religion but i am not so pro university.
it’s not because i think you are better off without a degree.

looking at college not from a JW cult stand point, I think it can and many times is a huge waste of money. If one goes to college for a specific purpose like medical or business ect it can be a great way to make a career. But so many go and its only a huge social club that bends minds of oat meal into stupid left wing activist time wasters. Its only when they get older they see that the 100k bill for Russian lit is not worth the paper the degree is on. I think that is why we have so many thirty somethings living in moms basement.

I used to work with an elder every day for several years. One thing that helped me out of the cult was his hypocrisy. Our work was in construction and it would often run us late for meetings. I started to notice a pattern that he would have me run him home instead of dropping him off at his truck then wait for him to get dressed and drop him off at the meeting even though he knew it would mean I could not make it home to change and make it myself. This was not a one of it was the rule. He also would have his wife pick him up so he could make to meetings and leave me to finish when we could not leave the job because of leaving the customer in a bad situation, such as appliances out on the lawn ect. He never ever said I am sorry you did not make it or we need to fix this so you can make it also.
I also remember when we were doing a job and my grandmother was dying in hospital. My mother and GF were there and I wanted to go spend some time with them. He said lets just finish because I want to go too. LOL. This was not a one of elder BS I have seen it across the board. I think that to be and elder you have to be a narcissistic ass.

I never watched it except when my little bro would be watching and I was sitting in the livingroom. For me as a teen it was too pansy. But I can see how it fits for a 5 to 7 yo.

Is it me or does Stephen Lett come across......
by JimmyYoung ini get the feelings that stephen lett tries to come across as mr. rogers but there are times it oozes through that he is a lot more dominant and controlling then he lets on.

Elders given immunity for sins in the past???
by Kingdavid41 inappointment and deletion of elders and ministerial servants.
situations that require a review of an appointed brother's qualifications.
25. committed a disfellowshipping offense years in the past and the matter was never addressed: the body of elders may de- termine he can continue to serve if the following is true: the im- morality or other serious wrongdoing occurred more than a few years ago, and he is genuinely repentant, recognizing that he should have come forward immediately when he sinned.

What was the retirement plans you heard brothers talk about if any
by JimmyYoung ini know some would not think about retirement.
i had one brother who would pioneer as he could afford and when he paid off his home he was about to collect social security.
he made enough that his plan was to work two to three days a week and pioneer the rest of the week.

personally I know of some who took jobs that paid pensions or other retirement things very quietly as they were getting to the late 40s and had nothing for retirement.

Elon Musk, And The CyberTruck That Homer Built
by Simon ini think tesla and musk have officially jumped the shark.. did you see the "cybertruck" they released?
it's like the car that homer built!.
it has to be the ugliest vehicle ever built.

Musk is sinking. As more main stream company's build cheaper better electric cars Tesla and its struggles will only get worse. He did not even start Tesla but bought it. He is constantly wrong on his production and financial predictions. Its pure smoke and mirrors.
