no excitement, just robotic conversation.. what the hell happened to these people?
Forced guilt and obligation is different from boring or boredom.
Some people got excited to do things they weren't supposed to being a JWS.
Which of course made them hypocrites and that's one thing you see in a lot of in JWS congregations.
The meetings were at times very boring, a lot repetitive subjects, especially for kids.
Hours sitting supposedly listening was really unbearable particularly when your a kid..

I wouldn't say they are most boring people, religious sect .
We did a lot of things when we were teenagers like skiing, ice skating, biking, travel, boating.
Sure there was some oppression to what we could do, but we weren't completely shut up.

why was there no official arrangement before 1952 to disfellowship people?
was there a different procedure with a different name?
was no one committing disfellowshipping offenses?
It becomes a bit amusing that J Rutherford would have been DFed himself for living with another woman when separated from his wife.
And to suggest that after the war immorality was rampant is just broad speculative lie.
I think the WTS heads such as F Franz was worried about questioning or critically thinking people within the organization, such as questioning the validity of 1914 when no other christian based faith made any similar proclamation.
Power does funny things to men, Franz was one who was oh so righteous but at the same time was also oh so corrupt in his endeavors to keep his acquired power, this continues on with the JWS GB men today .

over 20 years ago a friend of mine did something rather crazy; he committed a major crime.
non-sensical because the organization never takes responsibility for its own faults.
In word the organization says it is imperfect, it practice it holds itself out to be infallible.

Theological speaking from a Christian perspective if a person admits to their transgression (sin) and asks to be forgiven by his associated Christian brothers he should not be shunned.
They (he) still has to face the laws of the land (Cesar's Laws)
When Jesus Christ came to mankind it changed things for all of us, the JWS dont see and recognize that.
it's pretty easy to see how current events would have any jw convinced the end is imminent, but i just don't see how there could be a major push for zealous service, pioneering, etc.
decades into the future.
even if (when) world events happen periodically that could scare the r&f, there are now countless hours of hd video of jw leaders saying how close the end is.
The WTS/JWorg operates and sustains itself from fearmongering, it has for decades, being that is so, the likelihood of that continuing is an assumed probability.
many that have come to this forum have left the jws religion and moved on with their lives but from a outsider's viewpoint what do think makes the jws religion wrong or incorrect as a active christian faith ?.
somethings come to mind such as its long continuous end times/armageddon soon doctrine which has really been a core doctrine for decades going right back to its beginning .. maybe they should have adopted the stance as other christian based faiths and adhered to jesus's own words when he said " no one knows of the time not even he ".
