Many religions admonish education as being useless dribble, for the reason that higher education equates to particular knowledge and non support toward spiritual adherence, which the top religious leaders use to both control people with and empower themselves.

Most doubts aren't created by apostates. They are created in a Kingdom Hall.
by pistolpete ini found this interesting perspective on reddit.. post;.
i remember the moment the first real crack in my faith happened as a jehovah's witness.
i was sitting in the kingdom hall during the watchtower study where, as is common, the article was talking about how the israelites as a nation abandoned jehovah.. "but wait," i thought, "having a nation represent him here on earth was part of his plan.

Sooner or later JWS have to face the lies, ignorance and corruption which this organization was built upon.
Perhaps it might be easier these days with the available information on the inter net.
ie ..... before I left in the mid 1980's I didn't know that the self proclaiming "Anointed" president of the JWS J Rutherford was a boozing adulterator who at the end of his life was separated from his wife, who lived in a self built mansion he called Beth Sarim, who drove the most expensive cars and surrounded himself with bodyguards whenever he made a public appearance.
Things you find on the inter net

Quite an accurate statement.
Add to that, what comes off the pages of the literature the WTS propagates is another aspect.
In this case the doctrines which created a religious following are the doctrines which are going to eventually kill it.
The over oppression of power and control which JWS elders are afforded is a reason that made many people leave this organization altogether.
JWS elders are there to judge, evaluate and even penalize people at will to an individual's apparent righteousness.

What are your personal reasons for hating the Jehovah's Witnesses religion ?
by Rocketman123 infirst thing comes to mind is that this organization through its leaders are not witnessing the true and honest version of the gospel teachings of jesus christ .. they are subjectively teaching/preaching a tainted version made up by the top controlling men of the organization, which i'm sure is connected to the proliferation and distribution of literature which these men publish themselves.
.
when jesus said that no one knows of the time not even he, he didn't say a select few will know .. the other thing that bothers me is this organization promotes human ignorance on many levels, admonishing education or knowledge that mankind needs for its very survival... there are many other religious organizations that do this as well but the jws is just one of these organizations.

The pressure to serve in service and other JWS activities is pretty strong and has been for a long time, the time in the late 1960's was especially hard and aggressive .
Interesting that now the requirement is less than it used to be for hours in service for qualifying to be a pioneer .
Now days the JWS just stand by a literature rack on the streets.
Good grief

20 Years Occupying Afghanistan, Nothing Achieved
by Simon inso the occupation of afghanistan is coming to an end and, as predicted, they achieved absolutely nothing in that 20 years apart from:.
the death of 2,300+ service personnel and tens of thousands more seriously maimed or injured.. handing $billions or even $trillions of taxpayer dollars to defence contractors (so the military industrial complex wins, even if the military doesn't have a clear victory).. has this lengthy but short-term military occupation really changed anything in the country?
it doesn't appear so.. i said at the time that the us wouldn't have the staying power to enact real change.

You have to keep in mind that the Taliban were strongly involved in Heroin cultivation and sales, then using that money to buy weapons and military items.
So given that they will most likely restart doing that, they are going to build up again a military force to overthrow the in place Afghan military and take over the country.
Allah willing of course.

Remembering Rutherford
by Sea Breeze inhe seems to me to be the angriest and most ill-tempered of all the wt presidents, especially after his stint in prison and failed prophecies.. “regarding his misguided statements as to what we could expect in 1925, he [rutherford] once confessed to us at bethel, “i made an ass of myself.”” watchtower 1984 oct 1 p.24.
rutherford died at beth sarim on january 8, 1942, at the age of 72.
[220] cause of death was...carcinoma of the rectum..."[21] .

For the longest time the WTS/JWS bragged about not using a tithing arrangement as other religions had done but the WTS still made money from their self produced products and of course personal financial donations .

The fact is men such as C Russell and J Rutherford created a whole slew of theological bullshit and stupidity, then from that self proclaimed themselves the chosen ones (Anointed) to build up their own personal identity of themselves as being supposedly righteous and loyal to god.
They weren't, if men say things that god has not given them to say through scripture they are false prophets (Apostates), true loyal Christians should not listen to them.
In essence they created their own power and control as being outspoken apostate sinners, people followed them to their own folly and demise.

If you dont accept the power, ignorance and corruption that operates within the organization your in trouble, be vocal about it and your in real big trouble.
The fact is the JWS is a highly controlling religious cult when you do a close analytical review of it.
