What Splane was saying in all of his talk was that true devoted followers of the organization should hold up and support all doctrinal activities with diligent unwavering faith.

What do you call people who forcefully make others do things to protect themselves and maybe the organization they head from legal punishment for their activities ?

Remember when the Org made the order for all congregations to destroy all printed information about certain members who may have committed pedophilia ?

in one form or another i've been a member of this site for almost 10 years.

in the past this was a great place for debate, news and support for ex jws.

i logged on several times a day and posted several times a week.

But in the past few years I've noticed this site is becoming more and more based around politics, right wing politics in particular.

I have the same feelings and I've been posting on this site for over 16 years.

A lot of people who were here for a long time have left, Flipper, Blondie, Cofty to mention a few, it used to be a nice place for new ones exiting the JW religion.

Now right wing politics are taking up most of the thread topics and propagated.

this is nothing but illegal.

telling people that they can not evict a dead beat renter for not paying rent while the land owner has to pay for repairs, insurance, taxes and a mortgage is such a private property grab.

any one who votes for these assholes is a total idiot.

There was a subsidy grant by the US government that handed out money to both landlords and tenants who were in need due to income loss relating to the pandemic..

Now that the pandemic problem is just about over the Gov. is lifting this no eviction law and the grant money.

If people are just lazy not wanting to go back to work, then they should be lawfully evicted and the landlord should have that right.

i'd appreciate getting some opinions about a decision i will shortly have to make.. i am moving soon and have the choice of two different apartments in two different towns.

i am hoping this move will be one of the last that i have to make - i have moved frequently in my life - at least for a long, long while.. the apartment i like the least is in a town and a location that i love due to my history with, and connection to the area.

the apartment i love is in a town and location i am not as crazy about, but it is still a really nice area.

I would make a balanced decision upon what is around locally such as Rec centers. libraries coffee shops, stores, closeness to work and of course nature to take in.

Mind you I wouldn't personally live in a large city area full of high rises, noise and pollution even if all of those accommodations were there.

I have a friend who has owned a Toyota Prius for over ten years and he said he has little trouble with the vehicle .

Logical Fallacy… can I get some help here?

dr. leanna wen is currently spreading the fallacy that unvaccinated persons should have vaccines mandated because they are like drunk drivers… they have the right to be drunk at home she says, but wanting to be part of society at large without being vaccinated is like driving drunk and putting others at risk.

besides ignoring the science proving that persons who have had sars cov-2 have natural immunity that equals or exceeds anything that could be imparted from the mrna shot, without the side effects or need for boosters, ( sorry big pharma, you’ll be losing $$$ ) this illustration just smacks of illogical reasoning.

it reminds me of the borg comparing getting baptized to getting your driver’s license.

I think its worthy to realize that there have been tens of thousands of doctors all around the world who have been treating people with Covid for the past year or more and yes there were some who tried using some experimental treatments but through those efforts they didn't find the magic drug that would successfully stop people from dying.

Do you not think that many doctors haven't reviewed and evaluated drugs such as Ivermectin ???

Remdesiver on the other hand has been approved as a treatment for Covid symptoms here in Canada and the US but then again its not completely capable of stopping possible outcomes of death.
