by freedom96 inthere seems to be a lot of discussion these days about iraq, even on this site, which i think can be handled in one easy illustration.. if your family was mugged, and the mugger without question is going to shoot and kill them, but you have the opportunity to shoot and kill the mugger first, would you not do it?
no time to discuss the consequences with the mugger, cannot discuss with said mugger on how he would "feel" if you shot him, no time for anything.
if you do not react, he will kill your family without question, without hesitation.

Smoke gets In Your Eyes.
by Englishman ini was just wondering, how many of us here took up smoking after we left the witnesses?
i have to admit that it was just about the very first thing that i did when i finally received that sumbeam of enlightenment that jw's were simply not anything special.
i drove out to a country pub, bought 2 panatellas and a half of red barrel, and spluttered my way through my first cigar n' pint.

Did you know that George W Bush's business partner in Saudi is Osama Bin Ladens brother?
He was in New York on the day of the attacks but was able to fly out that evening unchallenged.

What is preventative action?
Bombing innocent people is only going to create more people who want to hurt America.
The US and Britain went into Afganistan and killed over 5,000 people with bombs and guns and yet the 15 people that they went in for got away. American policy in the middle east antagonises people.
Why does the US and Britain feel the need to police the world? Sept 11th attacks were carried out by people from Saudi Arabia, Algeria etc. Not one of them was from afganistan. I just feel that diplomatic solutions should be used, not starting a war just in case someone might attack us. What sort of precident would that set. Any country with a beef with another i.e. China and Taiwan for example could attack first and then say that it was in case they attacked them! crazy

You would think they had been trained to act like that.
My most embarrising moment was going out for a quiet drink with another brother after a meeting to discuss something or other, and he went to the toilet as soon as we went in ( guaranteed to miss buying the first round ) and I ordered a pint of lager and he returned just as the barman was putting it down.
I asked him what he wanted, and in an overly loud voice said " ooh, i'll have a snowball! " ( a girls drink )
My god, ive never finished a drink quicker in my life

Iraq knows that it can't attack isral with mass destruction weapons because it would gain the wrath of the arab neighbors.

The US wants to tie up the worlds reserves of oil and they are taking it by force.
You can never win the war on terror untill you stop people having hatred for other people and that cannot happen. If america forces its policies on other countries people then some will fight back. Look at Palastine. Israel has had Americas backing and they become just as much of an enemy of palastinian's as Israel
