I'm not surprised FoX are arguing against the BBC poll, it's to be expected really.
FOX News is THE most biased channel i've ever had the misfortune to watch, and I watch it regularly for humours sake.
The BBC is at least independant, funded by license payers, not owned by a media mogul with strong ties to the President.
FOX News is more like a propaganda channel, not a NEWS channel.
I love Bill O'Reilly's catchphrase....fair and honest news...give me a break.

It is totally amazing that certain people cannot see whats going on under their noses.
Yes, the Patriot Act and more importantly Patriot Act II is taking, and will take more of your civil liberties away. What gives the Government the right to monitor people who it has no reason to monitor?
The same is happening in Britain. We have just had proposals by Blair for constitutional reform, which was not even spoken about in Parliament, the cabinet was re-shuffled and new posts made up out of thin air, like 'the Minister for Constitutional Reform'.
It is the Orwells anniversary and I recommend everyone to read 1984...you will be surprised at how like today it is.
The Patriot Act has survived so long because of the persistent myth surrounding the "supremacy" of federal law. Article VI of the Constitution includes the so-called "supremacy clause," which states: "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof . . . shall be the supreme Law of the Land." All judges, legislators, and executive officials, at the State and federal levels, are bound by "Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution." This apparent confirmation of the supreme power of federal law is actually tempered by the letter and intent of the Constitution.
The "supremacy clause" is limited to those powers of government enumerated in Article I, section 8 of the Constitution. The president has no real powers; he only enforces the constitutionally enumerated powers of Congress. What little power the president has is limited and clearly defined in Article II . The Supreme Court has absolutely no power; its only job is to rule on the constitutionality of the actions of the other two branches of government. If either branch chooses to ignore the Court, then there*s nothing the Court can do to enforce its decisions. It*s that simple.
Speaking of the "supremacy clause" in Federalist #27, Alexander Hamilton said, "the laws of the Confederacy as to the enumerated and legitimate objects of its jurisdiction will become the Supreme Law of the land . . . Thus the legislatures, courts, and magistrates of the respective members (States) will be incorporated into the operations of the national government as far as its just and constitutional authority extends" (emphasis in the original). The "supremacy" of national laws, as Hamilton declared in Federalist #34, is "expressly" confined "to laws made pursuant to the Constitution" (emphasis in the original).
Federal "supremacy" is further limited by the Tenth Amendment. The original seven articles of the Constitution were ratified in 1789. The Bill of Rights was ratified in 1791. By declaring, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people," the Tenth Amendment amended the "supremacy clause," further solidifying the limitations of federal power. Thus, federal powers are clearly confined to those enumerated in Article I, section 8 of the Constitution.
By logical interpretation, there is no federal power to provide Social Security, conduct random searches at airports, fund education, feed the children of the poor, provide medical care for the elderly, or declare certain substances to be illegal. Regardless of the wishes of a majority of Americans, no such powers are enumerated in the Constitution.
Also absent from the enumerated powers of the federal government is the power to abridge any of the liberties of the people enumerated in the Bill of Rights. The Patriot Act, which does exactly this, is therefore null, void, and unenforceable. It should be treated as an act of treason against the Constitution, and when necessary, forcefully resisted.
Opposition to the Patriot Act is growing. To date, more than a hundred communities have passed resolutions condemning the act. In some instances, local law enforcement officials have been directed not to cooperate with federal officials acting under the broad and unconstitutional directives of the Patriot Act. Most of these condemnations, however, are merely symbolic. Only one "community" has passed a resolution with any real teeth, one that would surely make the Founder Fathers beam with pride.
The Alaska Legislature recently passed a resolution which "recognizes the Constitution of the United States of America as amended by the Bill of Rights to be the supreme law of the land" (emphasis added). The resolution clearly recognizes the limiting power of the Tenth Amendment. The resolution states, in part, "to the extent legally possible, agents of the state . . . shall not assist or voluntarily cooperate with investigations, interrogations, or arrest procedures," in violation of individual civil rights and liberties, the U. S. Constitution, or the Alaska Constitution. In effect, the Alaska Legislature has nullified the Patriot Act.
More States should follow the lead of the Alaska Legislature and defend the Constitution, as the Founders would have done, against the growing fascist tyranny in Washington. It*s the prudent, constitutional, and peaceful course of action. Otherwise, contemporary American patriots might be forced into the potentially ugly business of exercising their Second Amendment right to defend their life, liberty, and property against the encroachments of yet another George so far away.Above article from www.prisonplanet.com

he saw a special forces soldier who had lost his right hand and suffered severe wounds of his face and side of his body.
the sma wanted to honor him and show him respect without offending, but what can you say or do in such a situation that will encourage and uplift?

So, what kind of man GW Bush is.
First and foremost, he's a politician. Do you really think that he did not know that this 'kind gesture' wouldn't be reported by one of his 'friends'?
Presidents don't do anything that isn't planned. They have an itinery and they stick closely to it. Tony Blair is exactly the same. Little events are leaked to show that he's a 'great guy' when it's really a PR stunt. That's not to say that he didn't genuinely mean it, but why was everyone told about it?
Lets take a closer look at the kind of man George Bush REALLY is:
He has at least one conviction for drunk driving in Maine.
He went AWOL from the Air Force in a time of war...then sends troops to war himself.
Put do death a record number of prisoners while he was Governor of Texas.
All the records of SEC investigations into his insider trading have been sealed in secrecy and unavailable to public view.
He became President after loosing the popular vote. His Dad's friends on the Supreme court stopped the recount when it looked like Gore would win and handed the Presidency to George.
Shattered the record for the biggest deficit in US history.
He also appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any other President.
He has also cut welfare payments to veterans.
Involved in and presided over the biggest corporate scandal in history - Enron.
His biggest corporate contributor was Ken Lay, CEO of Enron.
First president to run and hide when his country was attacked.
Oh, yes....a great guy Mr Bush.

The father of a terror suspect held in Guantanamo Bay has condemned reports that the US authorities have drawn up plans for an execution chamber at the Cuban compound. Azmat Begg maintains his 35-year-old son Moazzam is innocent of any wrongdoing and called on the British Government to take action to protect him.
Some detainees may be executed if convicted at military trialsMoazzam Begg, from Sparkbrook in Birmingham, was seized in Pakistan in February 2002 and was transferred to Guantanamo Bay a year later.
His father told the BBC's Midlands Today programme he is angry at the treatment of Moazzam.
'No answers'
"I am very worried about it. What about his human rights?
"The Americans are doing whatever they feel like and nobody can say anything to them.
I should be given the right to visit him and he should be given all the human rights that he is entitled to Azmat Begg "I do not know what kind of law this is."
He added that, despite the attempts by lawyers in both Britain and the US, there had been no "positive answers" about the future of the nine Britons being held among 600 terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay.
It is reported that the British suspects could face the death penalty if convicted of links with the Taleban regime or the al-Qaeda terrorist network.
Mr Begg said he last heard from his son, a father-of-four, one month ago and learned something of the conditions he is being held under.
He said his son told him he was getting food and medical attention, but added that he did not know what he was supposed to have done.
Visits prevented
Azmat Begg said: "He is taken out in the morning for about 15 minutes from his cell in the open and the same in the evening.
"He is on his own and there is no one to talk to. He is very lonely."
Moazzam Begg was captured in PakistanMr Begg's family claim he is the victim of a case of mistaken identity.
His father said he had written a letter to the US authorities pleading for permission to visit his son at the Cuban camp but his request had been refused.
"I should be given the right to visit him and he should be given all the human rights that he is entitled to," he said, adding that the US should not be able to hold British citizens without charge or the chance to appear in court.
"If he has done anything wrong he should be taken to court and if he is found guilty he should be punished," he said.
Mr Begg now intends to continue his campaign to travel to the prison camp to visit his son.
"I will write a letter to the President of America, to Tony Blair and the other authorities to try to go to America and see my son," he said.

He immediately goes to Hell, where the Devil is waiting for him.
"I don't know what to do here" says the Devil. "You are on my list but I have no room for you. You definately need to stay here, so i'll tell you what i'm going to do. I've got a few folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves."
Bush thought this sounded pretty good so the Devil opens the first door: In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water. He kept diving in and re-surfacing empty handed. Over and over. Such was his fate in Hell.
"No" George said "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long."
The Devil led him to a second room and opened the door. In it was Ronald Reagan with a sledge hammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing the hammer, time after time.
"No, I've got this problem with my back. I would be in constant agony if I had to break rocks all day" said George.
The Devil opened a third door.
In it, Bush saw Bill Clinton, lying on the floor with his arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.
Bush took this in with disbelief and finally said, "Yeah, I can handle this!"
The Devil smiled and said....
"OK, Monica, you're free to go."

The survey of 11 countries - for the television programme What The World Thinks of America, to be aired this week in the UK - revealed that 57% of the sample had a very unfavourable, or fairly unfavourable attitude towards the American President.
The figure rose to 60% when discounting the views of the American respondents.
The survey - conducted for the BBC by ICM and other international pollsters - gauged opinion towards US military, economic, cultural and political influence.
Over half the sample felt that the US was wrong to invade Iraq - this included 81% of Russian respondents, and 63% of the French response.COUNTRIES POLLED Australia Canada Brazil France Indonesia Israel Jordan Russia South Korea United Kingdom United States Thirty-seven per cent thought it right to invade - including 54% of the UK response, 74% of the US response and 79% of the Israeli sample.
Asked who is the more dangerous to world peace and stability, the United States was rated higher than al-Qaeda by respondents in both Jordan (71%) and Indonesia (66%).
America was also rated more dangerous than two countries considered as "rogue states" by Washington.
It was rated more dangerous than Iran, by people in Jordan, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea and Brazil, and more dangerous than Syria by respondents all the countries, except for Australia, Israel and the United States.
Unloved?
The survey groups were also asked whether they felt that the American military did enough to avoid civilian casualties during conflicts.
Seventy per cent of the group as a whole thought the US could do more - with the majority in each country bar the United States saying that more could be done, including 73% of respondents in the UK, 74% in France and 57% in Israel. Bush cannot expect much comfort from the FrenchHowever 70% of the American respondents said other countries did not appreciate how much America does to avoid civilian casualties.
The sample of over 11,000 respondents also showed negative attitudes about American initiatives, such as the war on terrorism and US efforts in the Middle-East.
Attitudes towards America as a whole, however, were a lot more favourable, with 50% expressing fairly or very favourable views, as opposed to 40% of unfavourable views.
That figure excludes Americans polled.
All interviews were carried out during May and June 2003.
