Why Britain wants to be part of Europe.............NOT !
by mattnoel ini am so fed up with this whole europe thing.
i as a british person do not feel that it is fair that we are not being given the right to vote as to wether we go into europe full hog and the euro so that we can lose our status as a country !
get higher taxes etc to support the poorer countries.

WoMD ... so where are they?
by Simon innow, the war is over, the weapons were not used and of course have not been found.. how threatening could they be if they did not even use them when being invaded by a massive force (of the countries they hate)?!
perhaps, as many suspect, they didn't use them because they didn't have them?.
now we're being told that we'll have to be patient and give them time to find them.

Six of Nine,
The fact that Saddam was put into power must have some bearing on the issue don't you think?
He didn't turn bad overnight, he was as ruthless when he was put into power as he was after.
When he gassed the Kurds, Donald Rumsfeld visited 2 years later and sold him MORe of the weapons that were then used as an excuse to go and invade the country.
Whatever way you look at it, pre-emptive strike or invasion, both are illegal in international law.

Your quite right, old boys network working as usual, but the whole world can see it and thats the worrying point, why so blatant?
There are higher stakes that we don't know about and thats what is worrying me.

This is probably the most I have looked forward to a film release since Lord Of The Rings.
It looks fantastic, especially when Neo is fighting hundreds of agents.

I really hope you are right. If the Iraqi's were set up with a government of their own people then that would be worth all the fighting, but I don't think the US will give up the oil that easily.
The small print of the agreement that Haliburton has to run the oil is basically the right to run it for good. Don't forget Haliburton did NOT have to tender for the contract to run the oil business, they were given it.
We will only see with time how the Iraq situation goes, but if it's like Afganistan then the Iraqi's will be left to there own devices. If you look at the state of Afganistan at the moment then you will see what I mean. All the aid that was promised has not happened and the US has just left them to fend for themselves.
