a jumbo jet that had been sitting on a runnway for 14 months, suddenly starts down a runway, takes off and disappears.. nobody knows who took it, or where it is...i didn't know there were scousers in angola!.

Apologies Curious, you quite right, it wasn't a Jumbo, but still a pretty big plane to go missing don't you think.
On NORAD's website it says it has worldwide coverage, it can sense the take-off of a missile 'anywhere in the world'.
It's not a Conspiracy Theory...yet...just an interesting event that brings up some interesting questions.

If a thread criticises something to do with your country, or my country, why do you have to take it as a personal attack on you. It isn't.
This thread is about crime figures. The other threads you talk about are usually criticising your government, or you president, not you.
How can you feel this thread is America Bashing when it was started to show that the crime figures of Britain are much worse.
Aren't we allowed to dispute them figures the way the other topics are disputed?

the stories coming out of italy at the moment are unbelievable.. berlusconi is the italian prime minister.
he is also the countries biggest media mogul and the president of real madrid football club.. he recently telephoned a live television debate on italy's top political program and shouted at the presenter,( for daring to bring up the scandal that is facing berlusconi ) and said to him ' you are a public sector worker, know your place!'.
he then took the program off the air and sacked the presenter.
It is amazing that this man can walk out of court when being questioned because he's 'late' for an appointment!

Teen pregnancy is a major problem where I live (nothing to do with me...honest) and you right, sex education is needed.
To be honest with you, though, although abortion is abhorant to me, there are cases, like the ones you mentioned which I would find hard to condemn anyone for having an abortion.
The fact that I am a man also goes against me, because it is a woman who has to make the decision and live with the consequences. If a woman got pregnant from a sex attack, I can't see any reason why she would want to keep the baby, but abortion is not the answer, the baby has a right to life, so maybe adoption would be the answer.
As I said before, it's just my opinion, and I wouldn't judge anyone at all if they had an abortion, it would be their choice.

Obviously the world is a very different place from when the original ammendments were made, but any ammendments that are done today should still be in the 'spirit' of the constitution.
The most important freedom Americans and Britains cherish is the freedom of speech, but when the government introduce measures to curb this then they are surely going against the constitution.
As i've posted before, the British government are misusing 'D' notices which they are supposed to only implement to stop newspapers printing material which can harm national security (Hence 'D' for defence) but they are banging these blocks on newspapers for all kinds of reasons, which is censorship of the press.

What was the security like at the airport?
Can you just walk on and start a Jumbo Jet, or does it need preparation first? Didn't the airport staff notice it being prepared to fly?
It was on the runway for 14 months, so how airworthy was it? Who prepared it for take off?
How much fuel did it have in it...and who refuelled it?
I thought NORAD could track any plane, anywhere in the world? But what were the Angolan authorities doing?
Any plane that takes off has to be identified, and where could it have landed? You need a large runway to land a Jumbo.
sorry about the mispost.. i realize that i am a small voice on this forum, i post so rarely.. at this time, i am packing up some small bags and heading out on my motorcycle for what may be a defining moment in my life.. my family will all be meeting at my younger brother's wedding in british columbia's lush mountainous interior.
jw's and ex-jw's alike are all agreed to be there.
if this goes as planned, this will be the first time in almost two decades that all the members of my immediate family will be in one spot.
This trip makes our little bike ride to Scotland look really wimpy.

When you consider that every speeding offense is classed as a crime in Britain, and that there are thousands of speed camera's on the roads (one thing invented in Holland that is NOT a good thing) then you can see why our crime figures overall look so bad.
If you get clocked by a camera going 33 mph in a 30 mph area, that is considered a crime and is on the statistics as such, it doesn't diferentiate between a burglary and a speeding offence.
