That is one way of looking at it, joe134cd, and I understand how you feel. On the other hand, hypocritical bullies operate in darkness, and people who speak one way but behave in an opposite way, they deserve to be exposed and shamed for what they really are. That being said, did you not see that the names were changed?

Gianni Pretzel is a well-known JW elder in a North Fort Worth congregation who never could seem to make a decent living or manage his money well. When his father died, Gianni Pretzel persuaded his widowed mother to allow him and his wife, Jakki Pretzel, to move into her home which was completely paid for. After moving in, Gianni Pretzel persuaded his mother to put the house in his name, promising her that he would take care of her for the rest of her life. Once the house was in his name, however, Gianni Pretzel proceeded to take out a huge loan, using his mother's home as collateral. He also borrowed large amounts of money from his fellow JWs, promising to pay it back with interest. He went through all that money, finding it impossible to pay back the bank loan as well as the money borrowed from friends. The bank foreclosed on his mother's home, Gianni Pretzel filed for bankruptcy, and all the JWs who had lent him money were listed among his creditors who would never get a dime of their money back. His reputation completely ruined, Gianni Pretzel and his wife moved to another city far away, leaving his widowed mother to fend for herself; however, Gianni Pretzel maintained his status as a JW elder.
Some years later, Gianni Pretzel and his wife moved back to their former congregation territory and rented a house with Gianni Pretzel's mother and sister. Before long, his mother and sister found living with Gianni Pretzel to be unbearable. Gianni Pretzel's's cousin, Willy, had a 4-bedroom home, and Gianni Pretzel's mother and sister asked Willy if they could move into his home and pay him rent. Willy agreed, and they lived in his home for 18 years. It just so happened that Gianni Pretzel's sister had a female roommate (they acted more like a married couple than roommates) who was also Willy's business partner and she, too, moved into the home with Gianni Pretzel's sister and mother.
Eighteen years after Gianni Pretzel's mother and sister moved in with him, Willy died. While he had three children who were legal heirs, Willy had left no will. The day after Willy died, Gianni Pretzel, his mother and sister and the sister's roommate (Willy's business partner) went to Willy's bank, emptied his bank account and put Willy's house in the names of Gianni Pretzel's mother and sister, and Gianni Pretzel and his wife moved into the house with them. They claimed that the money Gianni Pretzel's mother and sister and sister's roommate had paid Willy monthly over that 18 years was not for rent, but that they had been buying the house from Willy. Willy's daughter and her husband, both of whom were JWs, hired an attorney to recover Willy's house and his life savings. Gianni Pretzel visited them in their home and gave them his word--as an elder and as a man--that he, his wife, and his mother and sister and sister's roommate would evacuate the house by the end of the week. The very next day, however, Gianni Pretzel filed bankruptcy again, and it took Willy's daughter five years to have them successfully evicted from her father's home and to reclaim what was left of his life savings.
At the time of Willy's death, there was around $150,000 to be split among Willy's three heirs. By the time Gianni Pretzel and the others were evicted, there remained a mere $15,000 after lawyer's fees. To this day, Gianni Pretzel remains a well-known elder in a North Fort Worth congregation. He and his wife are known to jump onto every multi-level marketing scheme that comes along, recruiting their fellow JWs. Gianni Pretzel was once overheard saying that one's Christian brothers are supposed to be willing to die for one, but as soon as one takes their money, they will drop one like a hot potato.

JW elders stumped by Watchtower Publications
by Roger Kirkpatrick ini was approached by two jehovah’s witness elders who handed me a pamphlet advertising the jw .org website.
each man carried a bible and an apple ipad.
they told me that they enjoyed visiting with people about the bible, and asked if i was a bible reader.

I find it interesting that several of those commenting are too hung up on deciding whether this incident actually happened or not, instead of appreciating the narrative which is clearly posted to illustrate a good way to show JWs from their own publications flaws in their own teachings. These dipsticks probably thought the sister's talks on the ministry school were actual conversations which were being reenacted.

Masturbation is not sinful, unclean, or wicked. Under Jewish law, if a man experienced a wet dream, he was considered ceremonially unclean for a certain amount of time, but so was a woman who experienced her normal menstrual period. Being ceremonially unclean was not considered sinful even under Jewish law. The Watchtower has even suggested that a Jewish man might even look forward to the release of tensions provided by experiencing wet dreams.
Fundamentalist religions, such as Jehovah's Witnesses, classify such normal physiological functions as dirty or sinful, then capitalize on the resulting feelings of guilt so as to strengthen their control over their adherents. They ought to be ashamed!
Bonnie Zieman's book, Exiting the JW Cult, explains how neurotic guilt--the feeling of guilt imposed by others when one has done nothing wrong--can lead to self sabotage, punishing oneself for perceived sins which are not sins at all, and actually cause symptoms of real physical and/or psychological illnesses, depression, etc.
Do not fall for such wicked tactics of conniving, ignorant and unclean men such as those who call themselves the Governing Body.

Can you top this example of JW corruption?
by Mace.Bean inif you are a former jw elder, can you share any examples of corruption which you personally witnessed that were kept secret from the congregation?
following is an account from a longtime elder named tommy who recently disassociated.. the minor daughter of a presiding elder in a west texas congregation committed fornication with a 19-year old baptized witness in her father’s home.
the daughter had to confess to a judicial committee which included the aforementioned tommy.

slimboyfat, if that is all you got from reading my post, reading comprehension may not be your strong suit.

If you are a former JW elder, can you share any examples of corruption which you personally witnessed that were kept secret from the congregation? Following is an account from a longtime elder named Tommy who recently disassociated.
The minor daughter of a presiding elder in a West Texas congregation committed fornication with a 19-year old baptized Witness in her father’s home. The daughter had to confess to a judicial committee which included the aforementioned Tommy. Tommy felt that while the girl seemed sufficiently repentant, she should be publicly reproved and her father should be deleted as an elder; however, the other two committee members overruled him, insisting that the reproof be private and that her father be allowed to maintain his position in the congregation.
Since the girl was 16–thus a minor–and the young man was 19, Tommy insisted that the matter be reported to the local police. The Branch was consulted and directed the elders to report the matter to the police. The father refused to press charges, thus the police took no action toward the young man, who, incidentally lived in the home of his father who was an elder in another city.
Tommy and the other committee members were told that the young man would face a judicial committee in his own congregation. However, the incident was never reported to the elders in the other congregation, nor was the young man’s father informed of the incident.
This story was related to me by a family member of the young girl and her father. He also happened to be a friend of the young man’s father and of Tommy, the elder who sat on the judicial committee.
One can only assume that the young man–who went on to marry the young girl–was advised by the girl’s father to keep his mouth shut, thereby allowing the father to maintain his position of power in the congregation and protecting the reputation of his family.
It was several years later that the young man’s father–who had subsequently been deleted as an elder and who had faded–was informed of these details. He consulted a couple of elders with whom he had served, and they confirmed that they were never apprised of the situation. He then talked with his son, who is serving abroad where the need is greater but who is having his own serious doubts. His son admitted to his father that the entire story is true.
