Well, fuck them.
in isaiah 7:14 "therefore jehovah himself will give you men a sign look the maiden herself will actually become pregnant and she is giving birth to a son and she will certainly call his name immanuel".
this scripture is attributed to the virgin birth of jesus from his mother mary to become the messiah.
the problem is the name of the messiah isnt jesus its immanuel .
Guys, guys, it's obviously the Kwisatz Haderach, Paul Muaddib.
this "world event" is a few years away but i'm in the field so i work everyday to prepare for it.. our technology is advancing at an exponential rate.
shit will hit the fan because of it.. even as a jw i knew this was coming.
in fact, i thought that's what the bible was talking about.
Sounds like you need to detach a little bit. Don't worry, the world will spin on just fine.
when i was young everybody used to fantasise constantly about how brave we would all need to be "when the persecution comes".
we worried about what "they" would do to us and how we would never talk or betray other jws.
psychologically it was a damaging environment for children; but maybe that's another topic.. who would have thought that when it finally came it would take the form of being sued for protecting pedophiles.
Hey, kinda like the Westboro Baptist Church.
my wife found this 1/4 page ad on page 2 of yesterday's nj star-ledger, probably the biggest newspaper in nj.
pretty telling.. .
I don't personally care how hard it will be for a group of lawyers to tackle this. It isn't my job. I also don't see this as a "silver bullet" to this particular breed of werewolf. No, I just appreciate any attempt to bleed the organization dry.
maybe this will become a new catch phrase describing the type of people that the governing body loves to have in their organization and that they create if they're born ins.. broke......dumb......& stupid.
let me explain:.
broke: the gb keeps their members in poverty by condemning higher education and demanding that all their time should be spent peddling the wt propaganda and going to all the meetings.
You can't be docile and expect to survive in the world. You NEED to speak up and/or defend yourself, verbally at least.
However, certain Jehovah's Witnesses don't know how to speak up and they came into the religion this way. The mistake they make is that they think it's "alright" because the religion likes them this way. They confuse it with a "Christian personality". Meanwhile, they have issues in everyday life, couldn't hold a job, etc.
Quoted for truth. Not because the world is exactly the way the cult portrays it, but because -- NEWSFLASH -- You have to stand up for yourself. You gotta know how to be an asshole sometimes, and that it's okay.
I said it before, but this cult does people no favors by making complete wusses out of them.
i heard in years past that there was such a tract planned for the great tribulation.
my father at the time denied this, and reasoned that that would not be a loving thing for them to do, to essentially say, "told ya so!".
last year, the bunker videos had brother brown mention "a message of judgment".. has such material been drafted or is this just another bluff?.
@nowwhat?, Oh sure. There have been messages of judgment all along, I suppose, and then this card is played: "Obviously it didn't happen, but it will soon!"

Mmkay, now we're off topic. I'm well aware of the use of astrology in the bible, @Raymudas Martini. If you can demonstrate how this leads to anything actually happening, you are welcome to try.
I will take issue with this statement:
The Bible was written for our day, and there is a reason the Mayan calendar ended in 2012.
"The Bible" was canonized later and developed rather politically. It's a hodgepodge anthology full of contradictions and pseudepigrapha, as well as appropriated legends and motifs. It's pretty kitschy, actually. Your mention of the Mayan calendar makes your entire reply suspect.
mike from greece is a member of a pro-jw forum (message board).. the jw religion has so many rules so mike wants to clarify some correct procedures.. what woud you like to know, mike?.
a couple of questions dear brothers & sisters of the forum about women's head coverings1)should it be considered wrong for a sister to wear a head covering during the meetings?
i have seen some old sisters, one in our congregation and a couple in other two that like wearing head coverings during the meetings.
1)Should it be considered wrong for a sister to wear a head covering during the meetings? I have seen some old sisters, one in our congregation and a couple in other two that like wearing head coverings during the meetings. They say that since they feel better before Jehovah by wearing them it's ok. But some other sisters who don't wear a covering say about these old sisters they are "too strict". What can be done in a situation like this?
Mike from Greece doesn't have to do anything. If she wants to wear something on her head, let her.
2) I felt very annoyed when in a recent "get together" with some brothers and sisters, a sister started sharing experiences with us and some scriptures she liked(she actually analysed the highlights of certain passages. It seemed to me like she was trying to "teach" in the way she talked. Would it better for her to wear a covering in her head since the majority of the friends invited to the "get together" were brothers? What would you think dear friends? Please share your comments.
Now Mike from Greece wants to do something because she doesn't have something on her head. Maybe question the source and ask why the Bible is so misogynist. Maybe ask if Paul actually wrote that, why they were written, and thus call into question how these scriptures developed and became canon. You'll only find out that they were written by people for political reasons.
