I loved it when it was a really really tiny congregation and EVERYBODY sat in the back. Always expected the brothers to yell. :P

Wonder if there's a "safe room" at Warwick for the Governing Body.
Is there toxic waste seeping in, too?

So, I watched "The Founder" today, and had a minor Revelation
by Captain Schmideo2 inin the movie's story, ray kroc, the man who is in charge of franchising mcdonalds restaurants, is finding himself in a situation where he is doing gangbusters at creating the stores, but is going broke on his contract.
he gets help from another fast food executive who examines his books.one aspect of the business jumps out.
the stores need land to operate on, and that money is going to the land-owners who lease the land to the stores.

Yep, I've made this observation as well. Hilarious, isn't it?

Like Mom and Dad?
by compound complex inapart from the obvious -- "you have your mother's nose" and "you got dad's cleft chin" -- do you see any of your parent's behavioral traits and attitudes in yourself?
likewise, do you observe how your own children are 'apples fallen not far from the tree'?
the good, the bad, and the ugly?.

I look like my father. My mother and I spread his ashes over a small pond some years ago. Upon reflection, I don't know if I've ever entirely thought like him.

Does anyone else think it strange that JWs never seem to do any public debates for their beliefs? I mean they even recognize that C.T. Russell engaged in such debates on Bible subjects and that those debates helped to publicize the "Truth." So why don't they do any today defending old-earth creationism, or their own interpretation of the Bible?
They'd get destroyed. Plus, I think that if they debated another religious quack like Eric Hovind or Ken Ham on matters of creationism, it would be tedious for anyone outside their spheres of influence.
I am sure he wouldn't do it now after his stroke, but I would have paid money and flown out to see any of the GB debate Dawkins. That would have been such an ass-kicking that they might have deemed it the Great Tribulation. Aron-Ra? Dillahunty?
Hell, get Bart Ehrman in there. Don't even dress it up as a debate at first, just put him on JW Broadcast and let the discussion commence.

Pseudo history in Watchtower today 😂
by Gorbatchov ingorby went to the kh for family reasons today.. and landed right away middle in a pseudo history watchtower article.
just that aspect of the jw belief he is so sensative about.. so 1918 and 1919 are changed with one mark of a pencil.
the argument of change was in the past the argument of the doctrine.

Maybe they can prove that the parousia actually occurred in 1931, when God gave them a new name. This will allow them to return to the old understanding of "this generation", buying them more time.
When I explained to my very indoctrinated friend that Jerusalem absolutely did not fall in 607 BCE but 20 years later, and how that throws off the 2520 years, he went from a shocked face to a happy face and said they'll switch it to 1934 "to buy more time!"
Problem: It's 2017. If they wanted to do that to buy time and for the sake of accuracy, they really should have done it back in the 70s, 80s or even the 90s when it had been made clear to them that 607 is totally wrong.

Has WT actually drafted an End of Days tract?
by schnell ini heard in years past that there was such a tract planned for the great tribulation.
my father at the time denied this, and reasoned that that would not be a loving thing for them to do, to essentially say, "told ya so!".
last year, the bunker videos had brother brown mention "a message of judgment".. has such material been drafted or is this just another bluff?.

7th Day Adventist growth/decline stats similar to JWs
by fukitol inthe sda's are also getting most of their growth in africa and latin america but plateauing or declining in europe and parts of the western world.. what's also interesting is the sda leadership fronts up and attempts to explain why there is decline in some areas of the world (albeit somewhat disingenously), eg, on the link below from 2014. but the watchtower leaders have never tried to give any explanation for why membership is dramatically falling away in the western world.
increasingly worried jws are instead turning to other sources of information to try and understand why the 'true religion' is contracting.. http://news.adventist.org/en/all-news/news/go/2013-10-13/membership-nears-18-million-secretary-highlights-regions-of-growth-decline/.
