the Genesis account is the ONLY sensible explanation (going along with science) of how we got here
Oh, I think there's a better explanation than that one.
for those claiming that- how much thought or research have you done?.
objective or non-objective?.
ever read the other books claiming to be from god?

"do you believe in jesus?".
yes.. "do you believe in jehovah?".
yes.. "do you believe in the grand man of the universe?".
Much simpler than that, @David_Jay. :) A few threads have popped up in recent days about belief in God and Jesus Christ. I was in a mood last night and wrote the OP.
The fact is, I don't believe in any of them, but I still take some value from something I know to be myth.
we all 'exit' in our own way and at our own pace but i'm curious, why carry on stuffing yourself into that stiff suit and tie or meeting dress years after you realised the truth about 'the truth'?.
they kept you a prisoner, what's stopping you from leaving now that you have the key to your own cell?.
loved ones?
I felt incredibly uncomfortable at the meetings towards the end. I really didn't want to be there.
Was it incorrectly reported? was it a metaphor? don't know. Just mythoughts.
I'm curious now about the originality of the story. Did it come from an older Sumerian/Assyrian/Ugaritic story?
From getting kidnapped to thinking angels can be raped by men to impregnating his daughters while passed out drunk, Lot is pictured as a complete idiot.
God, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist...

Of course, I'm being loose with the word "believe" here, and not at all serious.
some go back to churchianity!.
and that, to me, indicates they never had real faith in god- but it was in men.....
the-Question, thanks, right back at ya.
the most ridiculous of all dogmas anywhere in the universe is the very foundation of churchianity.....thus, all their other claims are just blah, blah!.
.
Are you high?

However, there is a cult that frequently uses "Churchianity" in their publications, the Assemblies of Yahweh. Like the JWs, the Yahweh people have their own version of the Bible and have inserted the Divine Name into the New Testament in more verses than the JWs.
Perhaps "the-Question" is covering his/her rear and is dabbling in both cults.
Oh wow, lol. I learned something new today.

I don't think I'd apply that kind of rhetoric to the Trinity. It's hardly the most complex or unwieldy religious concept, and I don't find it more innately ridiculous than so many others.
