some that come to mind for me.. seven brides for seven brothers.
brigadoon.
carmen.
I am not a big musical fan, but I will throw another vote in for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers... And now I want to watch it again, it's been a while.
just read some of this latest awake on the org's webshite.. it begins by talking about the 'supernatural' - wizards, witches, vampires, etc.
- their popularity and why they might appeal to people.
then it goes on to state the wt belief that someone is 'behind it'.. now, i like a few horror/scary films - when i was a kid, i always actually liked being a bit scared by them, tbh.. the silence of the lambs, a nightmare on elm street (1984), the ring, the witch, the thing (1982) and a few others are all great, imo.. they are just genres and subgenres of film, that's all.
Glad you enjoyed it, Rainbow_Troll.

You do realize that the Awake is aimed at the non-jw public at least officially. The WTS would never put info in their for the point of view of a jw.
Which puts it in Jack Chick territory.
i will go next year :-) .

Come on guy's the best horror movie was the original Frankenstein movie in black and white.
I haven't seen any of the Universal horror movies yet, even if I tell myself I should.
Another good one was King Kong the 1929 version. You had to think and feel the fear.
Great movie. Have you seen how big they've made Kong in the upcoming Skull Island movie? He's ridiculously large, just so they can pair him with the equally ridiculously large Godzilla in a sequel.
Of course the Borg thinks the Wizard of Oz is bad because it has witches in it. LOL.
This irked me even I was a wee child. Even then, at my most faithful, I still knew better. Maybe they just didn't want people to look behind the curtain.
I think it's interesting that the Wizard of Oz was a political allegory, though Baum denied as much. I believe it at least started out that way. In any case, it wasn't a Satanic ploy, for God's sake.
for this award, i would like to nominate something that happened in berlin south english, again.we all have seen people that try to disrupt the memorial celebration, and this is not amusing at all.
its quite sad.
what is amusing is when the disruption occurs from within.an incident occurred once, when a brother was passing the bread around.
*shrug*
If someone disrupts the memorial and for whatever reason I am there, I'm not going to stop them.

after that crazy story about the bride and groom going out in service in their wedding attire, that reminded me of a scene yesterday in one of the subway stations, a disheveled homeless guy had one hand out begging for some money, "does anyone have some spare change to help me " he kept saying, in his other hand was a copy of the magazine.
so what must've happened was some dub passed him by and instead of giving him a quarter gave him a copy of the latest publication.
although some of the beggars use their money for alcoholic beverage anyway instead of food i'm sure that magazine will be put to good use when he feels the need to take a squat somewhere and needs some paper.
